Why buy when you can make one?
Buy 1 strip black or dark brown leatherette or upholster, cut to the shape of a patch, then buy leather shoestring brown or black. The cut shape leatherette or upholster put two holes to put the string, add gluestick to keep it there.
And regarding Snake with short hair, well, if you can wear his suave bigote and the complete uniform i think you can pull it off. :gun:

Perhaps, I'd suggest deep brown genuine leather 'cos, it's less irratating to the skin especially the eye layer. Polish it with some black food colouring mixed with petroleum jelly mixed to make a more dramatic stainy, worn-out effect.
When it comes to cutting pattern, follow Robert's advice.

Nakow, the only place i know that sells strips of genuine leather are the shoe shops in marikina.
But try to go to any shoe repair or custom shoe stores if they have any spare leather to sell. Who knows you might get lucky so you wont have to travel as far away as Marikina for a small strip (well, unless you LIVE in or near Marikina, in which i count you very lucky).
