Another Rogue idea..

K guys, this morning I thought of an elaboration for idea for a rogue band that I've always had. If you don't want to use it, thats fine. Here it is:

THE BASICS.
These cats aren't your average Ihatetheclanniesletsgooutandkeelthem cats. They are only separted from the Clans by their beliefs. Basicly, they worship multiple Gods. Here these Gods will all be the Greek/Roman Dieties in feline form. The cats of this unnamed group have their entire Tribe organized based on their religion. However, that will be explained later. They believe that the Greek/Roman Gods came to people in Human form, but have Cat counterparts or cat forms in which they visit other animals. For this reason, they believe all creatures [From humans, cats, dogs, and badgers to ants, fish, and frogs and more] are equal under their Gods.

HOW THE TRIBE WAS FOUNDED.
Just recently, maybe 2 years ago, a bold young she-cat escaped from the horrible life she was living in to be free to spread her beliefs. Antigone, as she was know, began to get may followers and helpers who listened to her teachings. She did not try to change their ways as if by force; she only wanted to show them something new. And many followed her. She had been sent by the Gods, they all assumed, to spread the word of this new Tribe of the skies. Today, she has set up the Tribe and assumed the role as High Priestess. She is only of 4 years now, has fought many battles, and is as bold and bright as she was the day she set out to spread the word of the Gods. How she actually learned all this about the Dieties is to be explained later and fuller [In her Bio].

HOW THE TRIBE IS ORGANIZED.
In Order of Highest to Lowest.

~ The High Priestess of the Tribe, the hihgest position. There has only been one High Priestess, Antigone, so then it has only been a female; however, a male may lead the Tribe.

~ The Gifted Ones Also known as the Prophets of Hermes or the Seers. (These terms are interchangeable.) There are 5 in the Tribe to represent the first 5 God siblings who were the children of the Titan Cronus (Saturn): Zeus(Jupiter), Poseidon (Neptune), Hades (Pluto), Hestia (Vesta), and Hera (Juno). Each may be a female or a male cat. Each has connections with the Diety they represent.

The lead Seer, representing Zeus, has the most visions of all the cats, may be very old and wise, and can forecast weather. He/She tells what Zeus wishes, and interprets signs of the sky.

The Prophet representing Poseidon may be of any age, as well as the following cats. He/She can swim in Ocean or River against wave and current and knows Tides extremely well. She interprets signs of water.

Hades's Seer has visions from the Land of the Dead. It may be a sign of coming danger or it may be one from a deceased cat that wishes to give his loved one a message. His/her special power is being able to save another cat's life by sacrificing someone else. He/she carries out burial ceremonies, and often spends time alone with the deceased right after he/she were killed, helping them find there way the Elysian Fields.

The Seer representing the Goddess Hestia must be a female. She may not mate/have kits or have in the past. She is the source of hope in the Tribe; she keeps the flame alive and burning. She must be present for any ceremony to take place. She delivers kits and when a knew litter is born she blesses them and keeps them with her for the following night in order to let her bond with the Goddess. She is a superb fighter, and must have at one time been a Camp Guard, for she is the protectress of the "Hearth" and "home."

The Goddess Hera's Prophet also must be a female. However, she must have a mate and should sire many kits. She is the motherly figure of the Tribe. She is the protectress of all females. Hera usually sends her dreams of unfaithful males within the Tribe who may break another's heart. She binds two cats as mates and has the power to see if their love is true. She also helps with births.

Every Seer has healing powers and may get messages from other Dieties.
They are all looked upon with perhaps even more respect than the High Priestess.

~ The High Council. They are 8 High Council members to represent the other Great Olympian Gods who may be male or female. It should later become the High Council of Elders, but since there are not many old cats, relatively young ones may have the positions for now. The High Council/Council of Elders basicly does what the Deputy of a Clan does collectively. They advise the High Priest(ess) on practically everything. They make desicions by voting etc. A bit like in the US fed. government.
[There is also the Head of the High Council/Judge(and fem. form of word) more commonly known as the Iudex who is basicly the oldest, wisest cat aside from Zeus' seer, in the Clan and makes the final rulings on things. He/She must be relatively un-bias in judgement because of this.]

~ The Lesser Council~ Made up of Priests/ Priestesses. This is made up of the majority of the cats (about 15-20) of the Tribe to represent all the lesser Gods. They hold the High Council in check [They may vote to "veto" a desicion the majority of the clan dislikes.], mentor cats in Religious affairs, and also may double as Camp Guards [Fighters] or Hunters. Though they are known as the "Lesser" Council there job is very important in Tribe life.

~ Discipuli/ae/us/a [Pl./Fem] The equivalent of the Clan apprentice. These are young cats that begin training at 6 moons. They are trained in all fields first: religion, "Politics" of the Tribe, Camp/Border Guarding, and Hunting. Their mentors by the end of their training are supposed to have made a close bond with their mentor. For this reason, the age when a Discipulus/a gets his/her position in the Clan is much later than the Warriors of the Clans. Also, this allows them to get to know their Discipulus better. The mentor then places him/her in one of the said positions based upon what they excell in. They may be placed in the Lesser Council as soon as their Mentoring has been completed; however, they cannot be put directly into the High Council. They must be elected by the old members of the Council only when a position is open. [Note: A High Priest/Priestess is selected by the High Council. He/she may be a High Council member or a Lesser Council member.]

~ Camp Guards Like in the Tribe of Falling Water in the WNP series they Guard the Camp entrance and boundaries. They have been taught in all fields, as well as the Priest/Priestesses so they mentor cats in all these fields. Though all cats have been trained with fighting skills these are the Tribes main fighters who show great excellence is fighting abilities.

~ The Hunters Though their position may be lower than the others and the Camp Guards even, their job is extremely vital to Clan life. They hunt and catch prey and act as mentors.

**Notes: Have a Couple more things to add, but feel free to reply...Also, each cat must have a Roman/Greek name. A lot of the terminolgy is in Latin, like Iudex which means judge. I would be RPing Antigone, but I need comments, suggestions, & yes/no's. More info about the Gods/Goddesses will be added. It all follows regular Greek Mythology. I love this! It seems extremely well thought out, and I am further impressed by the fact that you had it copyrighted. These cats would be fun to roleplay. I have several questions... Are they opposed to other clans, or do they just sort of ignore them/ live in symbiosis with them? (did I spell symbiosis right?) Would there be a war? Do they prefer peace? What about more specific character descriptions? Does the cat representing Hera have to be vindictive and 'married' to the Zeus-cat? What is involved in the 'worship' of their gods? Are they nomads? Have you thought up a name for them yet? ( I think they should be called something along the lines of 'Heavenclan' or 'Olympusclan') Thanks.

I like this idea very much and would love to have it happen here. Very well thought out and original. Plus I adore Greek mythology. Would they all have to be named after Greek gods or goddesses?

Thanks! Good questions, some of which I am even asking myself! I will answer them the best I can. ^.~

They are not at all opposed to other Clans since their scoiety is wholly based upon their religion, not a hungering for power etc. They prefer peace, but they have the means to fight when challenged, if that answers your question. I was originally having them be like peace-hippyish, but there are several Greek/Roman war Gods. I want to be as true the Mythology as I can.

Specific character descriptions I basicly left open for people. However, they must fit they're position, for example they cannot be the Hera Seer and hate kits or something. Though Hera was basicly the Goddess of marriage and women in particular.

I was thinking that the Hera Seer have the Zeus Seer as her mate also; however, in the future the two cats who had the abilities to gain their Seer positions might not be fit for eachother, and the Zeus Seer may, of course, be Female. Though I did want to fit her mate into the plot there somehow..

Meh..I haven't really thought out worship yet. Though it may consist of monthly rituals or something to do with the Seers. I was thinking every full moon the Seers can directly contact the Gods or something..but I don't exactly know the details yet..

They are not nomads methinks. I was hoping they might live in a cave in a cliff that opens to a beach or something...Because the ocean was a big Greek/Roman thing.

I have not yet come up with a name. Thanks for your suggestions!! I was thinking Tribe of Jupiter or something. Maybe Tribe of the Olympians? I like "Tribe".
Or some Latin thing..3 years of it as a language course better pay off. o__o

Also, Tremb, they can't be named after the Dieties, but if you look on the first post there is a link 'Click Here' which has a lot of original names from Mythology. I would prefer if they be a Latin/Greek word or any of those but the God/Goddess ones there too.

Okay, soooo...no being named after the Olympians, or Chthonians, or Titans? If I'm understanding correctly, of course. Which I don't think I am because I'm high or something. Would the Muses and Oceanids be free for name taking because I was hoping to make a little Kalypso if we should go through with this magnificent plot.

Is the High Priestess supposed to symbolize something? They could even be 'Tribe of the Priestess', though they might almost think that sacriligious... hmmm...

And one more question, for now: How would they become involved with the other clans? What would happen when they did?

I would love to roleplay this.

The Acheans - by deff. : a Division of Greek people said to be descended from Xuthus, a son of Helen of Troy.
The Aeolians - Same thing but from a Diff. son of Helen, Aeolus

And thats exactly right Lils, I think they should see that there are these other cats that are totally against StarClan [but not openly] and want to tear them to shreds...

It's an interesting idea, but it sounds really complicated. Also, can cats really have the kinda-sorta powers that you described? (I'm mostly referring to the 'kill a cat to save a cat' power there)

But. Like I said, I think it's interesting, though I doubt I'd have a char in it. I like my evil, evil rogues. My good cats are all Clanners or loners, of which I have few.

Although I only just joined, must say that I am in love with this plot. <33 It's simply magnificent and very well thought out and I'd certainly love to engage in such a plot once I get a few cats accepted.

And to answer your question Coffin, that was sort of a debatable thing I added just for fun. It can be altered however.

She doesn't really symbolize anything, she's just the leader. And for being involved with other clans...the clannies could get mad at them for some small thing like taking prey or terra etc. That will be figured out later I suppose if we are going to use the plotteh..

And Media, you are correct, and you can go ahead and use those names, as long as they aren't every directly connected to the Gods. For Example, one of Zeus' many spouses was a Nympth [or at least I believe so *dies*] so that name would probably be off limits..

Wow... this sounds really fun! I hope it didn't die, as this could be very cool... Very cool indeed. I can't wait until you've got a character list and such. Very fun.

It could be prey or territory that brings the clans and these cats at odds with each other to begin with... or... what if... those cats get involved with the clans because they've been ordered by their Gods to find more places to settle and spread to (perhaps a problem with overpopulation in their clan? That links to the territory and prey related conflict) and stumble across a clan patrol... Or, better yet, they come across Fourtrees during a gathering... or when the Medicine Cats are meeting together (though that would require four Medicine Cats and exclue a lot of people).

And, from there, the Clans learn that these cat's don't belive in StarClan (The horror! The pure, false, heretic-ish horror!) and then the Clans get mad, because they are most certainly not peace loving hippie kitties; I would describe the Clans as quite belligerent.

Eh. Sorry. When I see a plot, I go spouting off on various little things you could do with it that I have no business saying because I'm just some newbie. Ou vej... I though I should say them, though, because my ideas have a tendency to at least spark good ideas in more people.

I don't think those ideas are stupid, Foosiferth! Haha, I tend to do the same things on other sites and the admins get mad at me quite often.

I do disagree with the StarClan thing however, because remember the clans seemed to accept the idea that there were other kinds of god-like deities and structures for different bands of cats. Like the Tribe of Endless Hunting, and wherever my most beloved Tigerstar<3 is residing. But if they started to move in on the territory, maybe pushing in from a faraway boundary for more space, I could see the clans getting a little pissed off. Especially the foolish leaders and deputies who jump to conclusions. It could get interesting. >D
