After three years of being the most excellent forum on the internets (in our opinions), FFOF advances. During the past few weeks, the FFOF staff have bought a domain name, a vBulletin license, and a program that transferred posts, threads and users over to the New.

If you can read this message, FFOF as you see it now is closed for posting (except the one section at the top).

FFOF continues however, you can find the New at FFOF.nl. Go there now!

Attention

In most cases, you won't be able to log in directly at the New. This is because we weren't able to transfer your password(s) over to the New. For instructions on how to re-activate your account, please see this thread at FFOF.nl.

As some of you may already know, we are currently transferring our forums from IPB to vBulletin. Using a 1337 Java program that yours truly created Monday and yesterday, which iterates through all the threads and stores the info like user ID / name, post date, etcetera, we are transferring all (read: most of the) posts over to vB.

As a result, not everything you post right now will be transferred over to the New. Right now my program is at thread id ~1350, I'm expecting it to be done later today. So, everything you post after today may not be transferred along with the rest of the posts.

On the New, you will have to re-register and contact probably me, so I can make sure you have all your posts and stuff again. It wasn't possible (read: I was too lazy) to transfer stuff like e-mail addresses and generate new passwords for everyone, so that will just have to be done manually.

Right now we're still transferring the posts as well as finishing up on stuff, so if everything goes right, we'll be doing the move later this week.

More details about the move, will be posted later on, as well as emailed to everyone.

Yes. I have no clue how vB's password encryption system works, so you'll have to re-register with the password, email, etcetera you like. Then, you send a PM or a post or whatnot to me, and I'll set the password you have chosen as the one for your old FFOF account. From there on, you should be running on your 'old' FFOF account just fine.

(I tested it on myself, it works just fine)

Also, send along your join date on the Old with the PM / post if you'd like to have that one back as well.

Ahh yes, always the best method. Works great with weapons.

Anyhoo, the posts seem to be a little... What's the word...

Fucked.

It's displaying the HTML code used for any and all tags within the posts.

For example:

CODE
Once upon a time that would have been me. <!--emo&-\_---><img src='http://29.85.12.234/html/emoticons/sleep.gif' border='' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sleep.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Aye, that's correct. I'm currently repeating the whole process with some of the BBcode (i.e. quotes, bold / underline / italics, <br>'s etc) filtered out, as well as the program accellerated greatly. It should be done in the next half an hour. However, I haven't found a solution for the smilies yet - I really need to learn regular expressions. But we'll enable HTML at least for those tags that haven't been converted (emoticons mainly), hopefully that'll solve most of the problem.

you'll have to recover your password from your email address, and that's assuming I've already entered your email address... I've only gotten through "G" users, and I'm only entering the email addresses of people I deem noteworthy. It's a slow and excruciatingly boring process.

nah, your email address should be in there already. I've made sure pretty much everyone who still posts has been entered.

About 110000 posts have been moved thumbsup.gif The problem is that is only about 500 threads sad.gif

So that means the other 2600 threads have 130000 posts in them. And it looks like it is going to take a long time to move all of the threads. I guess there is about 20 hours of work to be done.

Basically all of the active threads have been moved, if you wanted you could hide the section where the threads have been dumped and we could open up the forum and slowly but surely get all the threads back.

Another problem your gonna encounter is that I start school tomorrow and I'm going to be fairly busy with my real life for a while. And the thing is that thus far I'm the only one who has had time to move threads out of the mods.

I'll set the number of threads viewed to as much as possible (200 or so), so you can select a large® amount of threads you know to be sure to fit into a certain category (i.e. spam) at a time.
