Due to the number of original profiles we have recieved lately, we are putting an indefinite freeze on original characters, and we are taking this opporitunity to remind everyone that Final Fantasy Resurrection is a forum for roleplaying Final Fantasy characters.

This does not mean that you have to stop playing your existing original. If you have been recently approved, continue playing. You're fine. This does not mean we hate originals, or are holding anything against people who like to play them. We're not angry at the people who have recently submitted originals, and this is not a hint that they should change. Feel free to keep playing them. We have nothing against good, well-thought out original characters who tie neatly into Final Fantasy. I used to play an original. They can be good if you're not used to playing canon characters. Once again, we don't have a problem with originals or the people who play them--we just want the ratio of canon-to-original to stay in hand.

It is simply that we would like to remind everyone that this is primarily a forum for canon characters. Even if you don't like any of the main party or villains, there are dozens of minor and liberally-interpretable characters scattered around Final Fantasy you could adapt.

This will last until we feel that originals can be allowed again.

The freeze is now lifted, but you should still follow all the guidelines for creating original characters if you plan to apply for one.
