Well, it depends. Do you want to leave your foes Naked, and heavily wounded after your sword skills, or dead?

It depends though. If we're talking War of the Lions Meliadoul, her sword skills still work even if there's no equipment in that slot... Which made her way more useful.

I just like Agrias more as a character. But that's leaving out ALLLL the other characters I could claim. D=

Aye, but for Sheer DPS + Status effect doom, Agrias has it hands down. And she wasn't made to be Game Shattering like the other Holy Swords user.

Agrias is cooler as a character, but might be hard to play sans a Princess given that's all her character was before she was stricken with FFT Retardedness. (The effect of having the character join your party then be stricken blind deaf and dumb to all things plot related.)

Meliadoul has always been cool IMO, though Agrias would be neat since I'm playing Lavian. Anything could work.

Role-play wise neither of them is very good. As Yuna said once a character joins your party they play no other relevance to the plot and both Agrias and Meliadoul do this. However I do believe that it would be easier to RP Agrias because she has close to twice as many plot-relative cutscenes compareded to Meliadoul and as such the player gets better insight to her character.

Ability wise The damage for both is pretty much the same. What should be looked at are the side effects. Each of Meliadoul's will damage and destroy a piece of armor and Agrias' will damage and cause status for most of them unless you count dead which if you do means all of them do. I should also take the time to point out holy explosion. Anything within five squares of a cardinal direction is hit and has a chance to be stricken with confusion so Agrias definately has Meliadoul in potential damage with a single attack.

Now that I write this very few of the unique characters can be roleplayed effectively without major guesswork done by the player. IMO only Ramza and Delita could be done and maybe Dycedarg and Zalbag.

The thing with the FFT characters is that they all have very detailed pasts and stories that you just don't really get at all in the game. They're alluded to at points, but it's really up to you to take control of their character after a certain point.

Yuna brings up a valid point - Agrias is hard without a Princess. She is also decidedly one-minded in her goals - which is to say, protect the princess. And then be struck deaf by the FFT gods.

It's so hard that of my two favorite games, FFT is the one with the overrun of characters I would be comfortable playing, but only because they are all so... well, singular in purpose. Whereas, FFVI, my other favorite game, I just feel as though I wouldn't do characters justice. I would just claim Relm again and say third time's the charm but that could be dangerous because I always seem to claim her and then drop her...

Umm, actually Seph, I came in from the outside. Second line in my post. He just landed outside, having made a Dragoon jump from another building.

Oy. My bad.

I know the feeling believe me, since those two are exactly my favorite FF games. x_x I was feeling kinda like that before claiming Kefka, but I think I'm doing a relatively okay job with him.

Now I just have to decide what to do with Balthier RP wise. I was really considering going unaffiliated considering his personality, but look where that has led Kupek to. x_x

Hey, you may not have a Princess, but you could either be trying to hunt her down, or be out for Delita's head for killing her, if you knew about it.

Well, Kupek having nothing to do does give me time to focus on my other characters here as well as at another board that Paine and I have been RPing at (even though my characters there haven't had much to do lately, either). It also gives me time to focus on some other things outside of these boards.

On another note, yay for another FFVI character being claimed! happy.gif
