Megaera simply watched the scene, saying nothing as Nick took his shots - only at the last hit to the knee did she comment, "Nice one."

Reno looked at the shots, and then at Nick. He shook his head slightly, then looked down at the target. "Well," he started. "There is some improvement. At least you hit it this time, right?" Reno said. "You just need some more time and you'll be firing like a pro. But in this business, firing like a pro isn't good enough." the Turk said, and then looked at Megaera. "You're up again."

A calm sigh, and Megaera stepped up towards the next target in line.

Faster this time. The first shot took her just over a second to line up, striking the head, though not as dead center as before.

A quick motion towards the heart landed a shot right on it's upper edge - Ooooh that one'd take a while to finish them. Megaera cringed a little.

Finally, a smooth motion landed a shot closer to on-center on the leg, although it seemed by luck more than anything else.

She didn't even bother to snark towards Reno, instead clicking her gun's safety on and stepping aside.

... Firing like a pro isn't good enough? Geez, what is it going to take, then?

Nick was once again feeling nervous as he heard that. The nerves stayed with him as he then watched Megaera take a few more shots. Then, soon after that, he felt like tightening up his hands into fists, for no reason other than those nerves.

The thing is, he was still holding a gun. And he still had a finger on the trigger.

And he had forgotten to turn the safety back on.

Luckily, it was aiming down at the ground, so the shot simply put a bullet in the floor. Nick jumped and yelled when his gun fired, startled at what he just did. Looking down at his gun, he lifted it up and checked the safety. Seeing its position, Nick's face turned red, as he turned the safety back on.

I can't believe I just did that...
