One big post to cover all the latest developments from the staff!
First, a further emendation of the ability rules, this time in relation to VIII's GF system.
| QUOTE | - The same GF cannot be junctioned to multiple characters.
- Only the six characters of the hero party may use the canon GFs.
- Other characters, whether canon or OC, may choose summons from other FFs and convert them into GFs. |
Second, some guidelines for dealing with inactivity have been adopted. These will be posted up momentarily in a separate topic, but I'm putting them here too:
| QUOTE | It is preferred, if possible, that you post at least once a day with each character. If, at any point, you cannot post for more than 3 days and fail to let the staff know through our Disappearing/Reappearing Announcements board or other means, they may choose the appropriate action to keep the story around your character moving -- either by ignoring your character or making a post for them, as needed.
If you are inactive without explanation for more than 2 weeks, your canon characters become up for grabs.
Additionally, Final Fantasy Resurrection has activity checks every four months (in January, May, and September). If you do not respond to the activity checks, or respond and fail to post within 3 days without explanation, you forfeit any claimed canon characters.
In any situation in which the loss of your canon characters disrupts the canon to original ratio, you may be asked to claim a canon(s) before being allowed to play your originals again. |
Since we obviously didn't do an activity check in September, we're going to do one now. Then we will begin the schedule laid out above, with the next one in January.

Not only the living, but even the dead have been drawn from their familiar worlds, to confront strange new threats -- or to pursue their own ambitions on a new stage.
Whether motivated by selfishness, madness, or the highest altruism, nothing can quite prepare this host of characters for what lies ahead. Reliving past encounters or discovering completely new friends and foes -- that is the beginning. What the end will be, nobody knows. Except possibly the chocoboes, but they aren't telling.

A Fairy Tale
A month has passed since that night.
It was the night of the coronation of Queen Brahne, the new Queen of Ivalice - a great light lit the night sky, and people began to fall from it. They were characters from the Final Fantasy Universe, but to the Ivalicians they were just dressed strangely, from different worlds -- deposited into gutters, on top of houses, onto streets ...
The Ivalicians have taken to calling these people the "Newfolk", and have mostly gotten used to them. Of these Newfolk, each from their own Final Fantasy, some have taken odd jobs or taken up a life as an outlaw; most, however, have banded together into Clans for mutual protection and profit.
Hunting Marks can be dangerous, but the Clan is always there to support you -- or is it? Monsters are far from the most lethal thing in this new world. Treachery abounds; Clans dissolve and new ones form. And, ever looming in the background, is the question: what is this world? How did we come here? How do we get back?
