Rather than simply posting saying that you claim a character, from now on you will have to post an application in this topic. If you wish to claim a second/third/fourth/fifth character, this is also what you will be filling out.

Please make sure the character you want is not on the Claimed Characters list before applying.

Claiming A New Character

Fill out the application and post it here. If we approve it, we will edit your post to reflect it and add your character to the Claimed list, as well as sending you a PM notification.

Exchanging Characters

If you would like to switch one character for another, you will have to fill out an app for the new character as well. Please note that we would like you to wait at least thirty days to change characters, so that they don't get passed around like colds.

Reserving Characters

If you would like to hold a character against claiming while you find the time to write up an application, or if you are considering a character but aren't sure yet, you may post here to reserve and we will note it on the Claimed list. If you do not post an app within thirty days, the character will be reopened for claiming.

Special Applications

On the claimed characters list, there are characters who say "permission required." This includes any villains from the games, and characters that would be very easy to godmode with or are otherwise at high risk of being mangled. You will still fill out an application for these characters, but you'll have to PM the staff about it first, so they can send you a tailored scenario for your application. For example, a scenario for Ashe could be her handling of an assassination attempt.

This is the form for character applications:

Character: [insert name + any aliases]

Overview: [detail character's personality, key traits, quirks, weapons and fighting style along with anything else you feel the need to mention]

RP Sample: [can be anything, such as a scene from your character's game or a scene you'd like to do/have done in the RP; it must be no higher than pg-13 in rating and at least 50 words]

RP Sample:

If you are shy and don't wish to post your application in a public topic, you can PM myself* or Thief. However, this might take a little longer.

*Due to Faris resigning, she will no longer be accepting applications. You may now send them to Thief, Sephiroth, Paine, or Yuna.

Here's a good example of a character application:

QUOTE
Character: Beclem (FFX-2)

Overview: Beclem is a horse's a--, plain and simple. His view of himself is that he is an upright, principled man who refuses to sugar-coat reality for the sake of 'not hurting people's feelings,' but most other people would say he's a self-righteous git with a stick up his a--. Not that Beclem much cares for their opinions anyway.

Born in Luca, Beclem's parents died young, after the boat they were on was attacked by Sin. When he was thirteen, he began studying to become a summoner, wanting more than anything to stop Sin from ravaging Spira. He had talent in magic, studied the texts, well, religiously, and was practically the poster child for a novice summoner... right up until the final test. Within about ten minutes, the fayth rejected him. Beclem remained in the Chamber for an entire day, but he was finally forced to accept that he would not be a summoner. (And why he was rejected when the fayth accepted people like Dona was a mystery to him. Beclem suspects nepotism or cronyism of some kind.) Despite his failure and disappointment, Beclem did not give up on his determination to defend against Sin. He went straight from the temple to the Crusaders' recruiting station and joined up. During training he was paired with a young man named Chappu from Besaid. They became close friends, if only because Chappu knew more about Blitzing than Beclem. But Beclem enjoyed the company of a person who didn't constantly whine about Sin, and they stuck together even after completing their training.

Beclem was devastated when Chappu was killed in a battle with Sinspawn. He was angry at the world, and angry with himself for forgetting that sooner or later you lose everyone to Sin. He became withdrawn and prickly, never allowing anyone to get close to him. His rage only grew deeper after the failure of Operation Mi'hen and his excommunication from the Church of Yevon. He celebrated with everyone else at Sin's final defeat, but he had to wonder if it was too good to last. And it was. Within the month, Spira was splitting into factions, petty rivalries springing up all over the place to replace the overwhelming sorrow that Sin had caused. Beclem sulked for two years, working on Luca's docks to pay for his tab at the pub.

But when Mevyn Nooj, a former Crusader, came into town and began speaking, Beclem had to stop and take notice. Because finally, somebody said something worth hearing. Beclem was instantly disgusted with himself and joined the Youth League, donning his Crusader gear once more. He believed wholeheartedly in the vision for a new Spira that Mevyn Nooj offered, looking ahead and not back, leaving the trappings of Yevon and its lies far behind. Beclem was sent to Besaid to whip the local recruits into shape, which he did without mercy. Anyone who slacked off was betraying Spira. Beclem had expected to be impressed by Wakka, but was disappointed--when he met the former summoner Yuna, he found her arrogant and hypocritical.

Like many other Spirans, Beclem was abducted and inducted into Halcyon, where he served in the Holy Army as a sergeant. When the rebellion occured, he instantly resigned and began looking for ways to join Thief, but the former general was hard to find. That he didn't raise an army to fight Ultimecia was a huge disappointment. When Yuna began gathering the displaced Spirans aboard the Eden to search for a way to restore their home or find a new one, Beclem was practically forced to join... not drafted, but there was nothing else he felt he could do.

RP Sample:

QUOTE
Beclem turned on his heel and walked away. Restore Spira. What good was restoring Spira? It was gone, destroyed. As dead as Sin and Yevon and his parents. Yuna said she wanted to restore it... bring it back to life, hah! If Spira came back to life, it would be unsent. A fiend of a world. Beclem faced facts: Spira was gone, and maybe there hadn't been much hope for it anyway.

But a new world... a new Spira, wholly and utterly new, with no memories of Sin, or Yevon, or the squabbling that had torn it apart after those things were gone. No lies. A world of truth and honesty. One that would be built by clean hard work.

He could believe in that.

I would like to have Seoras Metinjen (Ikemoto with a namechange, if you're wondering) as a third character. I've missed having a place to RP him, and the end of the story arc seemed a great place to bring him back in. Also, he has direct relations with Eresine that I'd like to play out.

RP Sample:
QUOTE

He gave the barkeep a disgusted grin. He was used to this. They always had "something more", for a cost. They were all the same. Every single one of them acted as if they were different bodies with the same brain in their heads. This one, it seemed, had developed quite a bad habit of extorting money.

"I have no need of your information. I assume it would be falsified, in order to gain more money. Would you like to know what I do to liars?"

The barkeep looked at him silently, his expression slowly turning to one of horror. He slid back against the wall and began banging on it as hard as he could. Hidden doors opened in either side, and hunters slid through, each armed with a rapier.

"Mercenary Metinjen! Your days end here!"

He smirked at them, shaking his head. As they rushed in, a deadly looking double bladed sword appeared in his hand. In a quick motion he spun it, neatly slicing both of them in half just above the waist. The barkeep began to scream, and Seoras looked to him, still smiling.

"Do you know what I do to traitors?"

The barkeep tried to run out one of the doors, but he had no chance against the honed warrior. The boy didn't even bother to move; he threw the ethereal sword at the man and it gave him a clean lobotomy, a vertical slice from head to groin. The sword itself disappeared, and the barkeep's dead form collapsed awkwardly. Seoras stepped forward and looked down.

"I was right. They all DO have the same brains."

Name: Seoras Metinjen

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Race: Human

FF Origin: FFT

Weapon(s): Lute - Slightly slimmer than a normal Lute. Fits nicely along Seor's left leg., Draekhm - "Sword of Dragons". Forged of a dragon's tooth., Knives - Made for throwing. Seor only keeps 5 or 6 of them on him, for emergencies. 2 Daggers - For close combat. Only Panzer dominant has the knowledge to use them well.

Physical Description: Seor is somewhat tall, with scraggly blue hair to match his left eye. His right eye alternates between blue, red, or grey depending on which personality is dominant. He wears khaki pants with plenty of pockets, including a few straps to hold his Lute. He wears a normal blue shirt with a collar. Over all of this, he wears a black trenchcoat, with intricate designs following the bottom part of the trenchcoat as well as the sleeves.

Personality: Seor's personality, most of the time, is that of a "hero". He's seen his share of bad in people, but he stills believes in the good of all. He's a bit naive when it comes to social relations, but he's overall a nice guy. Sometimes, however, when anger takes over, Panzer or Sa'aras will manifest in his personality, making him either extremely sarcastic and rude as Panzer, or somewhat vicious and calculating as Sa'aras, though both are just slight hints of the personality.

History: Seoras started life as the son of Sabir Metinjen. He lived in general quiet on a small house near the Mandalia Plains. Sonja and Natall Tolacen, along with his father, Sabir, lived in general simplicity at said house; Seor's mother has never been revealed to him. As he was walking Sonja home from the nearby town one day, a tragic accident ripped Natall and Sonja through a huge swirling vortex, and left nothing behind of Sabir. Seor took upon himself the final memento of his father; a small dragon necklace. As soon as he put it on, a voice entered his mind; that of Sa'aras Dvon K'reshla. Over the year or so since the event, he'd grown used to the voice; however, due to the recent events on the Isle of Time, Sa'aras has stepped forward and become a part of Seor's very soul, giving him access to Draekhm, the dual-sided "Sword of Dragons", and a much more violent fighting style and personality as a whole.

During the events of the Rebirth plotarc, Seor has been journeying in the lesser known parts of Halcyon for something he's always known he has; his family. During his search he ran across an old mystic who told him he could "contact the spirits of the dead" and allow him to reach any of his family if they were dead. However, what the man really sent him to was the realm of demons. Thanks to Sa'aras hold on Seor's mind, he was kept safe, but not without pulling a demon with a grudge, Panzer, along for the ride and out of the dimension. With no corporeal form, Panzer now "rides" along in Seor's head. The only thing he's discovered is his true name - Seoras - and that he has a sister.

Abilities

Jobs

Main: Magic Minstrel
Secondary: Dragon Protector, Demon Assassin

Magic Minstrel

Abilities:
Minstrel's Magic - The strings of Seor's lute can be used as whips, and also to form a crossbow that wraps around his arm.
Langorous Lute - A chord of dissonance causes a badstat to the enemy party. Lasts for one post or for as long as Seor continues to play.
Magic Melody - A song gives Seor's allies a boost of abilities. Lasts for one post or for as long as Seor continues to play.
Bard's Bow - Seor has a few abilities associated with his crossbow.
-Magic Bolt - Seor loads his crossbow with bolts made entirely out of magic power. A "normal" bolt takes little to no power, though charging with an element causes more.
-Shapechange - Seor can make the ethereal bolts larger, smaller, longer, or shorter, based entirely on the amount of energy used.
Elemental Magic - Seoras has access to magic that is the equivalent of Fire, Ice, and Thunder.

Support Abilities
Grab - If Seor is playing a song, his lute will react to certain projectile attacks. As long as the attack is small enough for his strings to grab, he can continue to play and dodge an attack. This skill doesn't work with projectiles that are made of magic or magic itself.
Improved Aim - Seor's aim with his crossbow is improved.
Teleport - Can teleport to any point as long as he's not undergoing an attack. (Time Mage skill.)

Dragon Protector
RESTRICTION: Only available with Sa'aras as the dominant demon. All support abilities only affect dominant Sa'aras.

Abilities
Space Storage - Draekhm can be pulled out of its ethereal holding place at any time.
Spinslash - The edges of Draekhm extend slightly and Seor executes 2 quick spins. Generates a large amount of force.
Dragon Wave - Slashes executed by Draekhm have a slight "wave" of magical energy that follow the path the sword makes. Magical energy used can effect how big or small the slash grows and how far it travels.
Ethereal Partner - Seoras can turn any item that is as long as Draekhm into a "copy" of the sword, though this copy will only last for a few strikes and destroys the item in question.

Support Abilities
Close Combat - Seoras is, as long as Sa'aras is dominant, is more skilled than his "normal" dominance at close combat.

Demon Assassin
RESTRICTION: Only available with Panzer as the dominant demon. All support abilities affect only dominant Panzer. Panzer can't utilize any natural form of magic as long as he's dominant.

Abilities:
Word Magic - Seoras has no magical abilities of his own when Panzer is dominant. However, he's capable of channeling an ancient language to fuel a few spells.
-S'ranka - Silence.
-K'aramei - Extend. Extends the length of something with ethereal energy.
-Lorken - An ice spell.
-Verno - A fire spell.
-Holyfonverno - "The Holy Fire", a holy element spell in the shape of a flame.
-Darkfonlorken - "The Evil Ice", a dark element spell that is thrown like shards of ice.
-Karon - An earth spell.
-Irko - An air spell.
Word Twist - Normal words CAN be used to fuel spells, however, this relies on Seoras' almost nonexistant pool of magic. He could, for instance, create light or create knives for himself to throw, but he could never harm someone with it. Can be used to call things to him across the room if he's lazy.

Support Abilities:
Infinity Complex - Though Seoras is capable of throwing knives at all times if he so chooses, when Panzer is dominant he can create as many as he'd like to throw.
Increased Speed - Seoras, with Panzer dominant, is capable of moving slightly faster than when Sa'aras is dominant.

Limits:

Tribond - Sa'aras and Panzer share dominance for a split second, pooling their magical and physical resources to unleash a combination of the Infinity Complex and Space Storage spells. Basically creates about 10 ethereal "Draekhm's" that are thrown at an opponent. Leaves Seoras with only his Lute as a weapon, and none of the Panzer/Sa'aras spells.

A Magic Melody - Music explodes outwards from Seor's body, causing damage to anyone in the area. Locks all of Seor's magic stores as well as Langorous Lute and Magic Music.

Character: Reeve Tuesti / Cait Sith

Overview: Reeve is a man that can relate to the troubles and lives of other people. He has a natural tendency to want to fight for equal justice because of this. Born to help lead others in the proper direction he also has a natural persuasiveness in the way he approaches people. However, even though he successfully leads the WRO, it is sometimes apparent that he lacks confidence in his own abilities. Even Vincent Valentine has had to remind him not to give up on occasion.

As far as accomplishment, Reeve has a lot of experience with being both a negotiator, combatant, and economic developer. First making an appearance as the Urban developer for ShinRa under President ShinRa Senior, he was initially utilizing a unique cat-doll named Cait Sith to spy on Cloud Strife and the other members of AVALANCHE. However, as their time together dragged on and unforgivable choices were made by the ShinRa company--such as having no intention to rebuild sector 7 after they destroyed it--he eventually became a dedicated member of the team and was a great asset to AVALANCHE's fight against Sephiroth.

After Sephiroth's threat to the planet had been quelled Reeve founded the World Regenesis Organization two years later and took into service a number of scientific and military units to help save and preserve the planet's life. During this time he fought both as Cait Sith (again) and on occasion was forced into armed combat as his normal self. After a run-ins with the secret organization known as Deepground, again Reeve would wind up saving the planet--this time through an administrative role. Of course, mostly possible due to the aid of Vincent Valentine.

With the somewhat recent return of his friends from being all but dead, Reeve has worked to enlist some of their help again for new WRO projects that aim to recover from the damage caused by the "Halcyon Era." His most recent projects include one of restoring the area that was once Junon, and a plan for drawing solar power from the desert where Gold Saucer once stood.

Without any officially recognized statement, Reeve has claimed the WRO as the main inter-world government for the seventh planet.

RP Sample:
QUOTE
Reeve slept soundly at his desk, his nerves mostly untested since the large disappearance of people and land from the seventh world. At one point he was bustling around his office searching for clues leading to the people that had vanished, but he was becoming disheartened and dulled to that in recent times. It felt like there was nothing he could do. It was coincidentally that same day that, as he slept, the lost people from the seventh world returned without his knowledge.

Luckily for Reeve someone called his secretary and offered to explain what had been going on for the long span of time that the missing persons had been gone. She woke him, but his secretary warned the informant wouldn't disclose who they were. Reeve was immediately up and excited about it none the less. He could finally get closure on his failed investigation and move back to other WRO projects.

Tuesti gathered a small sidearm from his desk and held it thoughtfully as he glanced into the corner of the room. There, lifeless, lay the body of a small cat doll. Rushing off to meet a mysterious contact he would usually go in that form, or a more deceiving copy of himself. However, this time, he felt it was more proper for him to go as just plain Reeve. Something told him he was about to hear something he would only believe in person. Reeve tucked the sidearm into his coat and left the office to meet his mysterious informant.

Character: Vaan

Overview: Vaan is what most would call a problem child, he is the kid that spend all his time in the sewers killing rats and dreaming of the freedom that comes along with being a Sky Pirate, instead of working or showing respect to the Empire. He thinks he is rather talented as a thief and believes he can't be caught because of it.

Growing up in Rabanastre was extremely rough on Vaan and his brother Reks. When they were only still children Vaan's parents were killed by the plague that swept over the city and killed hundreds, once the epidimic ended it was only Vaan and Reks. Reks took care of his brother along with Penelo and her family until Arcadia made it advance on Rabanastre.

Once the war began Reks joined the army as a Light Infantry Soldier. At Nalbina Fortress, Reks was paired with Captain Basch, there they fought their way through to save the King from being murdered, but Reks stayed behind to fight off some Empire Soldiers and was late arriving to the chamber, where he was then stabbed by Basch and it was revealed the Basch was nothing bu a traitor.

After the surrender of Rabanastre Vaan had to take care of his now traumatized brother, listening to nothing else but how Captain Basch betrayed them all and killed the King. This all built up Vaan's hatred of Basch.

Two years after the surrender of Rabanastre, Vaan began getting into more trouble, whether it be with the guards, or just the random vendors that set up on the sides of the streets. Penelo, an old childhood friend always tried to keep Vaan out of trouble but was mostly always unsuccessful.

Vaan's biggest mess-up came when he decided to liberate the "Goddess' Magicite" from the castle treasury and got himself caught in a battle between rebels and the Empire's "Ifrit". After being caught Vaan was sent to the Nalbina dungeon along with the Sky Pirate Balthier and his partner Fran. With their help he was able to escape and return to Rabanastre with them and Basch, the man he hated the most.

After Vaan and his party defeat Vayne and sunk the Sky Fortress Bahamut, Vaan was awarded with his very own airship nothing impressive to start with but it was enough to start as a Sky Pirate. After sometime when people began showing up from other worlds Vaan wanted to see them but his ship didn't have the ability to do so.

When he came across the Galbana after his ship was destroyed Vaan thought it might have the potential to travel between worlds and hopes that with it he can roam from world to world enjoying the freedom he has so longed for.

Pics:
The Vaan I would like to use.
The Galbana

RP Sample:
QUOTE
Vaan wondered in and out of Ruins with Penelo looking for anyhitng that would help him buy another airship, but one that would be able to travel between the worlds. Bounties, loot, and even valuable relics couldn't buy an airship that he needs since the technology wasn't in his world. "Come on, Vaan! There's nothing here!" Penelo grew impatient with Vaan wondering the ruins. "Sorry, just a little longer, I promise." Vaan then wondered into a massive chamber where a mighty white ship was resting, a smile crawled across Vaan's face as he gazed upon the ship. "I think this might work!"

Character: Delita Heiral (Delita Hyral in the PS version.)

Overview: Delita was born of common blood in Ivalice and his parents were farmers on the Beoulve land. After his parents died from the Black Death, he was adopted into the House by Barbaneth and Delita and his sister, Tietra, quickly became friends with Ramza and Alma. He then joined the Gariland Royal Military Akademy along with Ramza at a young age. It was around this time that along with Ramza and fellow Military Cadets that they rescued Argath (Algus) Thadalfus from the Corpse Brigade, a group of ex-military soldiers who were denied their pay after the Fifty Years War. Delita then continued on with Ramza and Argath, doing missions whenever they would come up, but after the Corpse Brigade made an assassination attempt on Dycedarg Beoulve, Ramza's older brother, and kidnapped Delita's sister they went off to save her. Once they arrived at the location where Tietra was being held captive, it was then that Delita witnessed Argath and House Beoulve's betrayal when Argath was ordered to kill Tietra. After a battle in which Argath was killed, an explosion occurred and Delita vanished from public.

It was during this time that Delita vowed to never to be manipulated again. Delita then joined the Order of the Southern Sky, although he had plans to betray the Glabados Church, those in charge of the Order of the Southern Sky, as well as the Unit itself. Delita then went to Dycedarg Beoulve and set up a plan to Kidnap Princess Ovelia. While several Knights attacked Orbonne Monastery Delita went in through the back and took the Princess. It wasn't until Zeirchele Falls when Ramza was able to catch up to him when he was attacked. After the battle Delita turned Ovelia over to Ramza and went on his way. Soon after the Princess was captured by Cardinal Delacroix and Delita retrieved her and took her to Goltanna.

Over a period of time Delita began his betrayal of the Order of the Southern Sky and made his way up the ranks. After much betrayal and assassinations, Delita was finally able to assassinate Goltanna and framed Cidolfus Orlandeau for the crime. He penalty was death, however Delita killed a decoy while Olandeau escaped with Ramza.

After the defeat of Ultima and Ramza put an end to the Lacavi, Delita married Ovelia and became the King of Ivalice. But Ovelia became disturbed by the fact that her husband was using her as he used so many others before. Because of this, she turned on him and murdered him. With the last of his strength, Delita then murdered Ovelia, and then perished.

During the times of the Halcyon Rebellion, Delita was revived, however he remained hidden from the world, but was always on the lookout for the enemies that may have been revived along with him. At the present time, Delita still resides in Halcyon, and having the Rebellion ended, plans to seek a position in the Halcyon forces.

RP Sample:
QUOTE
Delita walked into the first inn he could find. It had been several days since he had anything to eat or drink, and he desperately needed to rid himself of his hunger. Immediately upon entering he walked up to the counter where a man of at least 35 years of age stood. "I would like a place to rest, as well as a meal." Delita requested. The man looked him up and down, taking note of his filthy armor and the mans unclean face. "Sorry," then innkeeper started. "We don't house your type here." he said, and then began to read a book he held in his hands. "What? You mean to tell me that I can have no service here, merely because of my appearance? Am I not the same as you? Do you even wonder as to why my armor is soiled? I'm not some homeless wreck from the streets, I assure you." Delita pleaded, his stomach getting the best of him. The man behind the counter just shook his head once again. "Sorry. You'll just filth up the place." he said without even looking at Delita. Delita became angry in his heart, having memories of Argath. He would have said the same. "You do little to understand. I have traveled far and I have traveled long, and I require a place to rest and some thing to eat!" Delita yelled, becoming upset at the oppression he was being faced with. He was once a King, now reduced to nothing more then a commoner once again. The Innkeeper then looked up at him with irritation. "I told you no, and if you're going to yell at me then you can get the hell out of here!" Delita nodded slightly as then innkeeper spoke, and then found himself reaching for his sword.

Do I dare strike this man down here? I've spilled much blood, and a common Innkeeper would weigh no more on my mind then the rest. No, I cannot. I need to stay in good standing if I ever hope of being part of the Guard of this City.

"Very well then." Delita said, and then turned towards the door. "May we never meet again, for next time I won't be so forgiving." he said as he left the inn. Once outside he looked up at the sky. Night had fallen some time ago, and as Delita stared up at the night sky he began to wonder.

I wonder if Ramza gazes upon the same sky.  No matter, I must find some place to stay.

Character: Sosui Hatamaru (FFXI Character)

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Race: Hume

Class: Ninja

Overview: Sosui Hatamaru, or Hatamaru as he is referred to officially, is easily seen as a vindictive man, who takes pride in the fact that he never loses to the same enemy twice. Though more often he prides himself on not losing once. Due to this he is also quite the sore loser and is unable to respect authorities higher than his own. Emotionally hardened even further by the ways of a ninja, his only sign of having kind intention within his being is his protection of those he sees weaker than he. These acts, however, are much more often seen as a way of looking down upon others.

Originally being born in Windurst and raised as a ninja, Sosui was removed from his birthplace when the Shindei family (his birth family) was exiled for "crimes against the nation." Growing up with shame in his family and distaste for the nation that trapped him to the nearly dead territories of Bastok he took to the ways of the ninja with a particular vigor. Determined to make a name for himself he one day cast away the Shindei name and claimed a name of his own, Hatamaru.

Using this new name he began to enact a plan to get back at the Federation of Windurst. He used his exceptional talents as a ninja to progress all the way to the position of President Karst's private guard. However, as old threats crept back into the world it seemed Bastok wanted an alliance with the Federation against a common threat, a double-edged decision that would force Sosui Hatamaru to resign his allegiance to the Bastokian Republic.

It was shortly after this that people, places, and technologies were getting brought into the world of Halcyon. Even without a clear memory of why, Sosui kept his vendetta against the nation of Windurst deep within his being while living in Halcyon. Then later, when his memory was returned, he had no intention of leaving Halcyon to return to Vana'diel. He had finally decided that all governments would more than likely be doomed to betray his plans at one point, and no other would give him more of an opportunity for his long-sought goal to be complete.

RP Sample:
QUOTE
Another day of pointlessly spent time in the world of Halcyon. Even with a position that could send him into battle if necessary, there was no real battles to be fought. Battles that were fought, mostly missionary battles against monster outbreaks in other worlds, weren't that kind his skills would be useful for. He longed to rest his nerves with combat against another man of worthy skill.

He stood outside the world's capital, watching officials go to and fro. There was one such man on his mind already he could think of. How often Sosui had mused the idea of locking in combat with the acting head of state. He had heard all the rumors, Sephiroth was said to be quite the relentless fighter. Even so, he was nearly certain he could defeat him with relative ease.

Character: Vincent Valentine [Final Fantasy VII Compilation]

Overview: Vincent Valentine is a reclusive man. Quiet, he’s often hard to engage in conversation. He only seems to find the words necessary for communication when the Planet’s about to die again and there’s another hierarchy of psychos that require a few bullets to the head. Of course this is if he can be forced to become involved in the fight in the first place—he’s loathe to do anything with his farce of a life. Cloud and co. are indeed the only ones who seem to have acquired the knack of goading this man into action.

Bloody Hands are What They Pay Me For— Over thirty years ago ShinRa Electric was building itself up as a corporation with a monopoly on mako, moving from its original beginning as a weapons manufacturer. The fights and the wars were endless. The dangers far too many to tally. President ShinRa Sr. had the hearts of much of the public—but little of their governments. SOLDIER and advanced weaponry could trample any opposition, but not all attacks took place on the battlefield. ShinRa Sr. needed another force, one to take care of a miscellany of tasks, from espionage to assassination to bodyguard detail. This is the circumstance that led to the creation of the Investigation Division of the General Affairs Department—more commonly known as the Turks. Vincent was part of the first generation of Turks, partnered with Verdot (the man who later became the leader of the Turks before passing the job on to Tseng). Though he may have been close to the organization in the past, after the events in ShinRa Mansion he distanced himself. Listed on the Killed in Action roster, his ties have all been cut with the organization that formerly served as his surrogate family after his father’s untimely death.

Wronged Parties Standing in the Shadows— It is human to err—but how much can truly be forgiven? Vincent has failed many people in his life. The most striking is the scientist—Dr. Lucrecia Crescent. A young woman with an exceptional mind, Vincent was assigned to bodyguard her during the early years of the JENOVA Project. Infatuated with her alternatively genius and innocent nature, he quickly found the feelings between them becoming much more. Yet there was always a barrier he could never surmount around Lucrecia. It had seemed she was not attached to him as he was to her—though this was not truly the case—and this made him hesitant in his involvement with her life. He was a Turk, her bodyguard—that seemed to give him little right to impress upon her his opinions of her ways. He watched with helpless feelings as the sunny friendship they had built together quickly broke apart and she drifted away—to Professor Hojo, second in the Science Department only to Professor Gast. If that was what she wanted—he had no right, no position, to tell her to do otherwise… And yet when he learned of her intentions to participate in JENOVA Project S so personally—he had to at least ask that she take more time to consider her decision. He confronted her—and Hojo—several times about this, but… Words only seemed to lengthen the gulf between Vincent and Lucrecia and Hojo’s patience quickly fell—a bullet to Vincent’s chest put an end to the matter.

Years later—after the experiments and the birth of Sephiroth, when his Turk status had been changed to Killed in Action—he remained in the empty ShinRa Mansion. Alone, unwanted by even himself for his weaknesses and his failings, yet unable to die by his own hand, he did his best to not let life suffer his existence. Yet the past had a way of stalking Vincent Valentine and he was awoken from his listless state by an old friend. Verdot was within ShinRa Mansion, looking for one of four materia needed to save his daughter, Elfé. Vincent informed his old partner and the Turk fledgling with him where to find the materia, but… He couldn’t assist. His guilt—his sin—kept him from helping an old friend. He’s heard no word of Verdot since.

Insistent Comrades Pulling from the Light—Found later by Cloud and his companions, Verdot’s unanswered request for assistance was still heavily on Vincent’s mind. At the mention of Lucrecia and Sephiroth, he decided to see what use he could still be. Though only after being bothered several times by Cloud and his companions. Over the course of the journey the group made particularly annoying efforts to befriend him—which, despite his reluctance to become involved with the living, worked. After the world was saved he returned to his seclusion… Yet the others were not content to let that be the end of it. Since saving the world, they’ve managed to coerce him into becoming involved in several more efforts on the Planet’s behalf. If anyone else were to ask… But Vincent is loyal to his friends. He’s made his mistakes—ones he can never fix in his mind—he will not repeat them. If he’s learned anything from his travels with the others, it’s that a person may change. If they care to.

RP Sample: “Hey! Vincent! Why do you never pick up?! a------! I know it’s only me you don’t answer!” The voicemail continued along in that vein for some time, listing many grievances and debts to be paid. “Anyways—we’re all meeting at Seventh Heaven for Marlene’s b-day. Be there, sheesh, jerk. Did you get my text? Bye.”

“You have no new messages.” Vincent shut the phone, closing his eyes. How had she gotten his number? He’d changed it particularly so Yuffie couldn’t call him. Or text him. Yes. He had gotten her infantile text. A chain letter promising he’d be hit by a truck unless he forwarded it to six other people within twenty-four hours. It had been over forty-two.

Standing outside Lucrecia’s cavern, he opened his eyes slightly and took in the view. No. No trucks. He was not, in fact, very worried about trucks hitting him. Unless the truck exploded—even then—he’d probably survive. What had been done to him was not so easily destroyed.

Drawing his gun he ignored his phone as it rang again. It was no doubt Yuffie. She’d called him six times within the past twenty minutes. “Hn, you should answer that darling,” a voice crooned and he turned. He’d heard the approaching footsteps, but—

“I’ve missed you so, my love,” Rosso purred to him. He stared, gun raised, guarded. “I saw you fall,” he said lowly after a pause. Had the Tsviet managed to survive even that? It had been over seventy flights to the ground.

“Oh, you didn’t miss me? You wound me!” Rosso sang back to him, ignoring the unspoken question. How. Vincent’s gun followed her movements as she languidly paced. “There’s this wondrous place—they call it Halcyon, hn. You’d be surprised what they do there, my dear Valentine.” Rosso’s words drifted softly above the sound of the waterfall, conversational in their nuances.

When he didn’t ask what she was talking about Rosso laughed. “They raise the dead darling!” She crooned, voice psychotic. Vincent shifted, surprised. “Raise…the dead…?” He repeated, confused. How…? He’d had…little to do with the world of late. He knew Cloud, Tifa and Marlene had disappeared for a time—he’d looked for them. He’d yet to get the full story. But he knew it had something to do with this Halcyon.

“Oh yes darling. It is very generous of them. And so I live—and have come all the way here just to see you. Our last talk was over far too quick… Walk with me—let us talk. I have so much to tell you.” The smile on Rosso’s face was crazed. Vincent waited. Her words…she talked far too much. On some level it annoyed him. He watched her silently, still waiting—she couldn’t have tracked him down just to talk. They both knew he was little good with words.

“But first…for old time’s sake darling—I’ve missed the feel of your blood on my fingers,” Rosso purred. She raised her hand to him invitingly. Her smile had turned cannibalistic.

“…” Vincent fired three shots and dodged to the left just as she struck.

Character: Tseng [Final Fantasy VII Compilation]

Overview: Tseng has been a Turk since before the Wutai War—his loyalty is deep and nearly unquestionable. He was recruited during the days of Verdot—a man whom Tseng has always looked up to and who mentored the Wutaian. Reticent in his emotions, he tries to emulate his former mentor. Yet his way of running the Turks is looser in comparison to Verdot. He does his job always to the best of his capabilities.

Questionable Loyalty—Tseng is loyal to ShinRa. His job is more than his vocation—it’s his life. He sided with ShinRa against his homeland, has done numerous questionable acts for the company—he shares its fate as much as anyone in the company. And yet despite his loyalty to it, there have been times his loyalty has wavered. When Verdot fled and his assassination was ordered, Tseng reported his former mentor as killed to clear him from ShinRa’s attention. During the years fighting the first incarnation of AVALANCHE he supported Verdot in the attempt to save Elfé—against ShinRa’s wishes. He’s been derelict with his orders in more than regards to Verdot. When Zack and Cloud escaped he sent the Turks out to find them before the army could—though this was one mission that failed. Those who are important to him, friends and Turks, have at times warred with his loyalty to ShinRa. It’s hard to choose which to maintain the utmost devotion to and at times—as in the capture of Aerith—there seems nothing more he can do than to follow orders.

Blood Beyond That On Our Hands—The Investigation Division of the General Affairs Department is a busy place with few employees. Tseng heads the group more commonly referred to as the Turks. With Heidegger dead he reports directly to the President. Second in Command is Reno—who can always be trusted to get the job done, though not always quietly—with Rude—dependable with a level head—and Elena—a hard, dedicated work with…appealing qualities—next. They are a group that works together and will most likely die together. Tseng often gives mission objectives and helpful information over the phone with an uncanny timing for when certain information is most relevant. He keeps track of the others and is often the one to coordinate back-up when a Turk gets into too tight a spot. Paperwork was formerly a large part of his duties, but with the reduction in ShinRa personnel there’re less people to send papers out to. When it comes to actual field missions, he usually takes the ones of highest priority that require his person. If there’s no one left to take missions that needs to be seen to immediately, he will take those as well. Above all else he is the primary intelligence agent of the Turks—he’s often knows more relevant information than one would expect.

RP Sample: “Circle around the main line through the air ducts and disable the security switch.”

There was a muffled response from the other end of the line that sounded like a curse. Rosalind had apparently run into another security bot. She complained about the ridiculous amount in the facility as gunshots rang out. “It’s nothing you can’t handle. I’m sending you a map of the area,” Tseng replied evenly, as he edged along a pipe. The pipe wrapped around the outside of factory with easily findable handholds where it slanted up. It was the most private way to the roof.

Tapping the keys on his phone, he sent the map to Rosalind before putting it away. Now he could focus on his own mission. In no time he had achieved the roof—he quietly made his way to the skylight. Light from the room below it clearly illuminated the scene—Wutai insurgents. That they were Wutaian didn’t matter. They were anti-ShinRa and as such had to be eliminated.

His phone vibrated softly and he pulled it from his pocket. “Where are you?” He demanded coolly. There was an incoherent report about monsters, patrols and a “whole lot of baddies”. Tseng mentally sighed. “You have four minutes to reach your position,” he said simply and hung up. When the phone immediately went off again, he answered it to accusations of being heartless.

He hung up once more.

When it rang a third time Tseng cut Zack off before the SOLDIER could start a conversation. “If you have time to talk you can’t be having much of a problem,” he pointed out, slightly irritated. “Three minutes Zack.” He hung up. The phone didn’t ring again.

When Zack burst into the room through the door—which hadn’t been part of the plan…—Tseng quietly dropped through the skylight. Placing his handgun to a helmet, he murdered the distracted Wutaian soldier trying to drag the group’s hostage out of the room as the rest fought Zack. “There’s a car out the back door down the stairs waiting for you Professor,” he informed the scared woman, untying her. Zack finished mopping up the insurgents, their base now neutralized.

At the SOLDIER’s victory antics Tseng muttered an apology to the Professor for having to witness such idiocy. Not that he wouldn’t be taking Zack out for a drink later and encouraging him to dance on the counter of the bar, but—that was off the clock.

Character: Penelo (FF XII)

Overview: Penelo was born in Rabanastre and lived a mostly uneventful life during her early childhood. She had a stable family who took care of her and raised her well. She befriended Vaan at an early age. After the plague swept through the city, killing Vaan's parents, Penelo's family took care of him and his brother Reks. It wasn't hard to accept them into her family, since Penelo and Vaan had a sibling-like relationship anyway.

Soon after, Reks went off to join the military and the war between Archadia and Dalmasca had begun, killing many during its course, including Penelo's parents and Reks. Since then, Penelo and Vaan have been orphans, living in Rabanastre and doing odd jobs (and in Vaan's case, thievery) for the local shop owners, namely Migelo.

After Vaan gets caught up with the sky pirates Balthier and Fran, she decides to tag along, if just to keep Vaan out of trouble. She's very protective of Vaan, especially when he starts getting notions of sky piracy in his head. She gets kidnapped and befriends Lord Larsa of Archadia who vows to protect her while she's away from Vaan and his group. After Dalmasca is free again, she keeps in touch with him. After finding out Vaan's intentions to travel in his airship in search of treasure, Penelo decides to join him in his adventures.

After all, every good sky pirate needs a partner.

QUOTE

Penelo sat indian-style on the floor outside the Galbana, her face set in a pout as she scanned the open hangar for any sign of Vaan. Around her, moogles were packing up their tools and preparing to return home. A few of them explained the ship's status to her since its other captain was currently out doing who knows what.

She had gone to restock on some restorative supplies. They had been running low since their last few encounters with monsters. She had thought Vaan would be hovering around his pride and joy, making sure that no harm came to it. But when she had returned, he was gone.

He was so in trouble for not taking her with him. What if he got caught in a fight or something? She wouldn't be there to lend a hand. With a sigh, she decided to walk onto the ship and take a look at things for herself. It would be just their luck if the ship broke down in the middle of their trip between worlds.

Character: Kaze (Final Fantasy: Unlimited)

Overview: Kaze is the kind of guy that could rival Vincent Valentine in a silence contest. Always a man of few words and fewer full sentences, he isn't to be mistaken as someone without insight. He has a knack for determining the true feelings of other people, tearing away their facades silently. Also, despite being almost always inward, Kaze finds it in himself to empathize with and protect other people.

Kaze was originally from an "outer world" known as Windaria, and wielder of the summoning machine "Magun." This gun runs off of a Soil energy system that utilizes special forms of sand created when people die. By spinning the soil with a wind-blade device the gun can generate incredible amounts of energy that is needed to summon monsters.

In the past, Kaze was forced into a battle versus the embodiment and core of Chaos when it came to destroy Windaria. Using the souls (turned soil) of his loved ones (himself included) as ammunition for a summoning against the beast, he fought valiantly but ultimately was defeated and cast into "Wonderland" with only hazed memories of what really happened to his world. With these hazed memories he sought for another summoner known as "White Wind."

After traveling for a time, constantly in ties with two young children named Ai and Yu, Kaze finally manages to fix his Magun, restore his memories, and defeat chaos. Again he is forced to use his own soul and the souls of his allies as ammunition for a summoning. Miraculously surviving another battle with Chaos he is left searching the known and unknown worlds currently looking for a place he feels comfortable calling "home."

RP Sample:
QUOTE
Kaze sat against the wall of the merchant ship, one leg scrunched up and the other stretched all the way out. Anyone on the ship would claim he hadn't moved an inch since they left Chrysikon. In truth he hadn't moved, either. That was perhaps the only way he could stand traveling with other people, or perhaps he was focused more on the destination than the journey. It was doubtful anyone would ever know.

Peering out, mostly scanning with the eye not covered by his one-lens sunglasses (or sun-monocle if you will), he took inventory of the ship's crew. From the way they were rushing about and socializing it was obvious that they were about to land soon. Maybe this time he'd find a wall to sit against that didn't move from world to world. He had gotten his fair share of world-hopping in the past. Now it seemed like they were all running together in his mind.

Just one more character application for quite some time.

Character: Squall Leonhart (FFVIII)

Overview: Squall can be most easily described as entirely inept socially. Having grown up with heavy feelings of abandonment he has trouble getting emotionally involved with people (even things as small as friendships) and can often come off as really cold. Despite his shortcomings he has amazing natural talent--presented by his skillful use of the difficult Gunblade weapon type. His most redeeming quality, when put to proper use, is his ability to lead.

Squall grew up in an orphanage along side his, at the time unknown, adopted sister Ellone and all of his future teammates. After the unexplained removal of Ellone from the orphanage Squall began to bottle everything up and made a conscious decision to no longer rely on other people emotionally. Then, between ages 5-10 he left the orphanage to become a SEED at Balamb Garden.

As mentioned before, he took up the use of the Gunblade and quickly found himself striding toward mastery. However, instructors would label him difficult to handle, and be keen on pointing on similarities Squall has to his eternal rival Seifer Almasy. At age 18 he would become a seed, but by the time he passed his SEED exam along with Selphie and Zell the use of Guardian Forces had mostly erased his memory of the orphanage.

Carrying his feelings of abandonment, Squall would continue as a SEED on many missions. Getting caught up with the Timber Wolves, and Rinoa, he would start to get increasingly criticized on the way he acted. During this time Squall would lead an attempted (and failed) mission to kidnap Galbadia's president. The end result being the announced death of Seifer Almasy and President Deling.

Through later events--including a failed assassination attempt of Sorceress Edea, an escape from D-District Prison, freeing Garden from the influence of NORG, and freeing Balamb from Galbadian occupation--Squall would come to regain his memories of being at the orphanage. He would also become increasingly attached to Rinoa to the point in which he manages to obsess over her comatose condition after defeating Edea.

Later, events would lead Squall and crew into space just in time for the Lunatic Cry. During this time the space station is evacuated, but Squall decides instead to rush out into space after Rinoa (recently recovered from Ultimecia's control). In twist of fate the Ragnarok spaceship is discovered and Squall manages to reactivate it. Using it he managed to return to the planet with Rinoa.

Shortly after, Squall claims himself as Rinoa's knight, and shortly after that Laguna Loire requests that Squall and crew assist in stopping Ultimecia. Fighting to gain a way into the Time Compression, Squall and crew manage to arrive at Ultimecia's castle in the future and defeat her. While stuck in the collapsing time compression, the believe put in him by his friends would allow him to survive. During the celebration of this monumental success, Squall finally smiles at Rinoa, a testament that he is on his way out of being emotionally retarded.

After Ultimecia's return and her creation of Halcyon, Squall was taken away to there just as everyone else. Eventually, just like everyone else, he escaped the brainwashing magic of Ultimecia. After two complicated but defining conflicts at a very different Balamb Garden, Squall fled Halcyon with the help of Orlandu and Paine. Yet in the more recent of times, Squall has been wandering without much of a drive for picking back up the fight. Having been separated from Rinoa for quite some time, he is mostly uncertain of her whereabouts. However, despite not having seen her for such a long time, a sort of knightly sixth sense assures him that the focus of his life is still alive.

RP Sample:
QUOTE
The room was full of people that were blabbering tales of "battle" to each other. As if any of them knew what it was like to be on a real battlefield. As if the judged matches that these "clans" had with each other was any testament to the brutality of warfare. However, their treatment of their territory games was of no real concern to the shambled knight sitting with his clan in the shaded corner.

He wasn't exactly sure how he had wound up in this world, but without the funds to afford a world-pass out on a passenger ship he was stuck. That is until he had worked enough jobs with this clan to pay for a world pass or two. Then he would take the florescent blue gunblade and cut a way through the universe until he could find his purpose again.

Squall would do whatever this clan, his clan, required of him until he could have another chance to be at Rinoa's side.

Character: Linaly Klauser from FFV: Legend of the Crystals (yes, that's right)

Overview: Linaly is incredibly brave, and like most heroic types will not let any obstacle stand in her way. Indeed, she can be in the most horribly perilous position and marvel at it rather than fear. Her sense of adventure is perhaps greater than is healthy. However, while she is knowledgable and excels at solving puzzles and riddles, she can seem a little dreamy and distracted to others. This impression is not helped by the fact that she is a fashion disaster--her clothing consists of a long bluish tunic without trousers (not a good idea) and an orange vest--and the less said about the hair, the better. Linaly will often pause to listen for the wind's direction, and can sometimes forget about little things like needing to sleep, or how she's going to find her way from point A to point B. But she figures these things will resolve themselves.

Linaly is a descendant of Bartz, two hundred years after the Light Warriors restored the Crystals. When Ra Devil began stealing the Crystals, Linaly and her grandfather set out to protect the Wind Crystal. A harrowing fight resulted in her grandfather needing to return home, and Prettz joined Linaly on the quest. When they entered the Wind Shrine, the Crystal decided to protect itself by hiding in her body (with the rather unusual side-effect of turning her into a firefly). They were captured by Valkas and then Rouge immediately thereafter and imprisoned, but managed to escape thanks to Valkas and Prettz. An attack by Ra Devil's forces caused Prettz to sink Rouge's island, and Linaly rescued him with the help of the sea serpent Kisana. After this incident, Linaly and her friends traveled to Tycoon to consult with Queen Lenna. Lenna reveals that the Wind Crystal has chosen Linaly, Prettz, Rouge and Valkas to fight Ra Devil.

After awakening the legendary Hiryuu to protect Tycoon from Ra Devil's forces, Linaly was abducted by Ra Devil and taken to the Black Moon. Now possessing the fourth crystal in Linaly's body, Ra Devil transformed into Deathgyunos. Though he was subdued after a battle with Prettz, Rouge, and Valkas, it took Linaly a bit to recover from her experience--she remained in a trance and beat the living daylights out of Prettz for a while before Mid snapped her out of it. Deathgyunos suddenly recovered, but with a horde of Linaly's summoned chocobos, firepower from Rouge and Valkas' ships, and Prettz's sword, Deathgyunos was destroyed. The Crystals were restored to their rightful places, and everyone split up to go their seperate ways, with Linaly and Prettz returning to their hometown.

While in Halcyon, Linaly was enrolled in one of Mysidia's magic schools, to improve on her summoning ability. As soon as she regained her memories, however, she set out to look for Prettz and her grandfather. She ended up almost by mistake on a transport to Chrysikon and was stuck there for a bit... now she is trying to work her way back, still searching.

RP Sample:

The market was so immense... it seemed to stretch from one horizon to the other. Linaly couldn't shut her eyes for a moment as she looked around. This was what it meant that there were other worlds! She hadn't meant to come here, exactly... her earring was having trouble telling her where to go. What she wanted to do was find Prettz and Grandpa, but... it wasn't easy. Sometimes it was hard to understand where the spirits on the other worlds were telling her to go.

Well, at least she was seeing lots of interesting things! And who knew, maybe Grandpa or Prettz was somewhere around here. She'd run into a red mage earlier who'd told her that there were mages from every world here! Maybe Grandpa had wound up here somehow, or she would find someone who knew where he was.

((I should never have dropped him.))

Name: Maester Seymour Guado

Overview:

~ Personality: Seymour is a very charismatic person, but he is also accompanied by a sense of there being something wrong, which can either set people on edge or make him even more fascinating. He is also a top-level genius, having manipulated a Church that was accustomed to political struggles. His will was tested by death; he was able to not only maintain his personality but control the spirits of other Unsent to do his bidding.

The most outstanding fact about Seymour, however, is that he is insane. Due to isolation, he feels little to no connection to other people, thus feeling no remorse when he hurts them. On the other hand, he does feel a sort of theoretic sympathy with those who suffer, owing to his own suffering. Since his death, however, he has believed that life is evil and must be extinguished in order to relieve people of their suffering.

~ Is always calm and self-possessed

~ Is very intelligent and manipulative

~ Feels compelled to "save" the world's populations by killing them

~ Enjoys the finer things in life

~ Is obsessed with Yuna

~ History: Seymour's life has not been a happy one. His father, the revered Lord Jyscal, took a human wife to facilitate relations between that race and his own race of the Guado. Things did not work out as planned. The Guado shunned the human, and they reviled the half-breed son that was produced. Finally realising that his people would not accept them, Jyscal sorrowfully exiled mother and son to Baaj Island.

Seymour grew up among the ancient, half-ruined halls of Baaj's temple and abandoned settlement, isolated from everyone but his mother. But even that support was to be taken from him, as his mother was terminally ill. Rather than dying in vain, she took her son to Zanarkand, and had Yunalesca make her into a Fayth, hoping that her young son could use their bond to defeat Sin and be redeemed in the eyes of Spira.

Seymour refused. He returned to Baaj Temple, living in solitude until his exile was unexpectedly revoked and he was summoned back to Guadosalam. Due to his charisma and his exceptional talent in magic, he was gradually accepted by the Guado. He became a priest in Macalania Temple, and then a summoner. Unknown to everyone else, he ordered his mother's Fayth back to Baaj, where he would visit her, and ponder Spira's destiny.

He made up his mind. Receiving his mother's aeon at last, he sealed Baaj's Chamber of the Fayth, hiding the opening spheres throughout Spira to insure that no-one else could claim the powerful Anima. Then he returned to Macalania, now determined to become the most powerful being in Spira and gain revenge on those who had wronged him.

Without remorse he manipulated the Guado and the Church of Yevon into accepting him as the natural successor to his father, then poisoned Jyscal. Now a high priest of Macalania, as well as a Maester of Yevon and Lord of the Guado, Seymour was almost at the pinnacle of power in his world.

Then he met Yuna. As soon as he saw her, he knew that there was some connection between them. It could almost be said that he fell in love. If so, it was the first time he had felt such an emotion since his mother betrayed him. But he also came up with a plan, one that would give him more power than even the position of High Maester, then even taming all the Fayth in Spira. Using his bond with Yuna, he would become Sin.

For a time, all went well. However, Yuna's guardians somehow discovered his crimes and caused a disturbance at Macalania. To his surprise, Seymour was defeated and slain. However, his fanatical followers among the Guado prevented his being Sent, allowing the Maester to rise again more powerful than before. Indeed, he had to thank Yuna. In death he had had an epiphany. From that point on, he would be fighting not for petty revenge, but for the good of Spira. Having died himself, he realised that death was not only inescapable; it was to be welcomed. It was the only real solution to the world's ills, and now, he would liberate his world.

In the end, he did merge with Sin. Given time, he would have controlled the behemoth, ejecting the pathetic ghost of Yevon. However, Yuna defeated him again, and sent him in the end.

For a few years he mused in the Farplane, content in knowing that he had been right, and that even without Sin Spira was still a place of sorrow. Then he was brought into Halcyon, and Spira destroyed. For a little while, he was happy.

Then the brainwashing was removed, and he realised that Halcyon was a lie. It was not paradise, just another world of suffering. He came up with a new plan, one that would free every world from the misery of life. That plan was unsuccessful, however, and he lost his position in the Halcyon clergy due to the machinations of the Ronso, who had the ear of the Goddess' Knight.

Now he seeks a new way to end the suffering the worlds. And to be reunited with the Lady Yuna, the one person he still respects, admires, and loves.

~ Abilities: Seymour is a red mage, skilled in both black and white magic. He is also a master summoner, being able to not only call on his own Aeons but to dismiss the summoned beasts of his foes. Finally, he is proficient in hand-tohand combat, using his Guado claws and his staff.

RP Sample: ((I hope it's all right to use what I wrote earlier))

QUOTE
Seymour did not like the forest. At all. Traveling through rough country was not something that the half-Guado had foreseen himself doing. True, he had lived the hard life before -- raising oneself in a ruined island temple was no fun -- but he had grown used to more elegant surroundings. And recollecting his happy childhood did not help matters. At all. Nor did the fact that the only forest he had ever seen was frozen year-round, so that if your robe got caught on something it would just snap off with a crystalline ting. Here, your robe was more likely to tear. And get stains on it. A good thing he was already wearing green.

Seymour seriously considered just killing all of his companions right now, ending their collective misery. He could probably stab Faris in the back before anyone realised anything, then summon Anima to finish off the rest. He would most certainly have done so, had he known where they had hidden the Crystal. But, as long as they knew where the Crystal was and he did not, they had to be alive.

Character: Porom

Overview:
At an early age, Porom and her twin brother Palom were precocious students of magic, learning in their childhood what some mages only learned after a decade of tutelage. Porom specialized in the healing arts, in contrast to her brother's focus on destructive magic, but they were both valued by the Mysidian Elder as his most promising apprentices.

They were even trusted with the task of escorting the dark knight Cecil Harvey to the Mountain of Ordeals - ostensibly to help him succeed in his mission, but also to observe his intentions and report them to the Elder. When Cecil succeeded in his task, they followed him not because they were ordered to, but because they wished to help him now that they'd gotten to know him.

They would go on accompany Cecil on his quest to defeat Golbez and liberate Baron, even assisting him in the defeat of one of Golbez's four generals, Cagnazzo, the Drowned King. It was here they would sacrifice themselves to save Cecil, both Porom and Palom choosing to petrify themselves in order to stop Cagnazzo's final trap with their own bodies. Though they would later be rescued by the Elder's superior magic, their willing self-sacrifice kept them from continuing the adventure and they returned to their lives as students in Mysidia.

It is here that the two siblings began to drift apart. Though they still share a bond, as they grew older, their differences became more pronounced and they were no longer as close as they once were. While Palom grew unsatisfied with Mysidian rules and yearned to leave the kingdom behind to travel as a Sage, Porom grew into a responsible aide of the Mysidian council, serving as an assistant to the elders and a trusted mediator between the kingdom's black mages and white mages. Not wanting to be merely her brother's twin sister, Porom made a name for herself as a valuable and independent young woman.

Nearly an adult now, Porom is still much the same as she was as a child, when she was already mature for her age - she truly believes in the need for order and law and strives to uphold them, often willing to sacrifice her own comfort by shouldering too much responsibility. Though she strives to be recognized now as an individual through her services, she lacks the benefit of her brother's impulsive free-spirit - she is often simply too busy to find the time to have fun.

Glancing over her shoulder, when she was certain she was alone, Porom yawned and wiped her forehead. It was wearying work, organizing the scrolls containing arcane lore about Mysidia's most valuable white and black magic. Not only was the knowledge contained within each scroll ancient beyond reckoning, but so was the material itself. They had to be inspected, categorized, and treated with the utmost care, as each dusty, moth-eaten scroll was worth a kingdom's treasury and could be destroyed with by one careless mistake.

She allowed herself a small, satisfied smile, however, before she returned to the task. Though it was difficult work, the elders trusted her enough to ask for her specifically and she was determined to live up to their expectations. While her brother would just have thrown them all into a pile and then hid them in the back of the chamber in order to get out of work early and flirt with some of the first-year students, she couldn't allow herself to follow his slovenly, irresponsible example.

She was nearing the end of the long job when a white mage ran in with a flustered expression. Her hair was the same dyed reddish-pink as Porom's, a standard tradition amongst the Mysidian white mages, but the plain design of her robe as well as her wide-eyed youthfulness identified her as a low-ranking acolyte. She smiled politely. "May I help you?"

"U-Um, I'm sorry to interrupt you, Miss Porom! Our teacher was out sick, you see, and," she began, then faltered. "Well, the substitute teacher isn't teaching us any thing. He's been talking for the last hour about how we're stifling our creativity by conforming to the status quo of white mages and black mages. I don't really get it... B-but if we don't finish studying in time for our practical exams, we'll...!"

Porom's jaw set as she rose, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. "You needn't worry. I'll take care of him," she muttered angrily, but then her expression softened and she placed a hand on the girl's shoulder. "And if you're still that worried, I'll be glad to help tutor you after class. How does that sound?"

As the girl smiled widely and nodded in relief, Porom felt it would be another long afternoon. To think this was supposed to be her day off.

Character: Rydia of Mist (Young)

Overview:
Rydia was born to one of the few pureblood Summoner families in Mist, making her the one with the most potential in the entire village. Eidolons are more likely to trust young, pure, innocent girls than they are adults that may abuse their power. As such, even only at age 7, Rydia had the ability to summon both Chocobo and Whyt. Rydia’s mother was the protector and of the village, and she used her summon, the Mist Dragon, to protect the village from intruders.

With the potential to become a powerful Summoner, Rydia grew up fairly mature for her age. She realized the responsibilities placed upon her by her mother, the village, and even the Eidolons. While she still spent days playing outside, she also knew she had to study her magic as well so that she could do things like heal the wounded and fend off monsters and intruders. Though she wasn't a prodigy of magical ability, she had the focus she needed to learn simple spells like Blizzard and Cure.

After the cataclysmic event that burned her village to the ground, killed her mother, and shattered her childhood, Rydia realized that she had to be an adult about her life. She had to overcome a number of things; like her fear of fire brought on by her village being burned. She believed that, from that day onward, she was in the grown-up world; she couldn’t be protected by her mother or her village any more. She would have to be mature; she even goes as far as to remind Edward- an adult- that he's being a coward for simply crying over Anna's death. So while she's still the sweet and innocent girl that she once was, she also realizes that her life has drastically altered- she has grow up.

QUOTE (Rydia in the Feymarch)
Rydia blinked open her eyes, holding her head, which throbbed in pain. She felt tears well up in her eyes, because whatever happened hurt. As she looked at her surroundings, she began to piece together the recent events; she was on a boat with Cecil, Yang, Edward, and Rosa, when suddenly she was launched overboard. She recalled Yang reaching out to her, but she couldn’t grasp his, and she fell overboard, where she came face-to-face with the Leviathan… he didn’t seem so scary to her, though.

He opened his mouth and… and here she was. She looked around and it felt… odd. She couldn’t quite place why, but she slowly sat up… She was in a bed, being tended to by… Whyt? He looked at her curiously and smiled, clapping his small white hands together. She smiled to see the familiar face, but she hadn’t recalled summoning him. He helped her up and, hand in hand, he guided her towards a room where an old man garbed in blue sat in a chair, and a woman garbed in green stood beside him. Rydia sensed that they had the same energy as Whyt, Chocobo, and her mother’s Dragon… They were Eidolons, they just didn’t look like Eidolons.

“Rydia of Mist…” the old man spoke, smiling to her with a gentleness in his eyes. “I am Leviathan, Lord of All Waters, and Eidolon King. This is Asura, my beloved Lady Queen of the Eidolons.”

“Sweetest Rydia,” Asura spoke, kneeling before the girl and holding her hand gently. “You are one of the last surviving Summoners.”

Rydia nodded slowly. “The village was destroyed.” She looked away from Asura’s eyes. “Someone burned it down.” She remembered the day vividly in her mind. She considered it the day when she was forced to stop being a child; she had to fend for herself from now on. "But that's over-" she closed her eyes, "all gone."

“We’re aware of the happenings in your world.” Leviathan spoke calmly, in a voice that came from the gentlest tides. “We have brought you here to hone your power, so that you can become stronger. We would like to tutor you and enhance your abilities. In return, you will lose your ability to caste White Magic, but you’ll become a powerful Summoner. You must also be aware that time works differently here in the Feymarch… while years pass to you, to your friends in the Overworld it will seem like days.”

Rydia looked to Whyt, who seemed all too pleased with the idea- his face formed a smile with cheerful, closed eyes. She looked to Asura, then to Leviathan, and once more to Whyt. It felt as though they all had her best interests in mind… and she didn’t mind that she would grow here. Her childhood was ruined by Golbez and Baron, who burnt it to the ground.

"But what about Cecil?" she asked, worried, "What about my friends? Will I get to see them again?" The thought that she wouldn't troubled her; they were all she had since that day. Even though she felt she had to fend for herself, she knew how much harder life would be without friends.

Asura nodded, holding Rydia's shoulder. "When it is time, you can go find your friends again." Rydia's eyes lit up with delight, but Asura frowned. "But for now, you'll need to remain here to train. It may be a while before you see them again."

Rydia knew it would be long, training day in and out to learn how to master the art of Summoning- but it would be for the better. She looked Leviathan in the eyes and felt hope rise in her chest.  “I’ll do it.” She said, nodding. “I’ll do it.”
