Room 102, Basic Weapon Training: Guns

[Reno / Cid Highwind]

This is the class where Turks learn to use their various guns. All Turks must pass this class in order to complete their training, however some Turks that use guns as their primary weapon will be required to take another course to be trained with their specific gun.

Instructor: Reno.

Walking to the room, Nick felt nervous. This was made apparent by the fact that he had his arms crossed, and he was looking down at the floor while walking, with a look of worry on his face. He also felt like he had plenty of butterflies in his stomach. This was going to be Nick's first class being trained with a gun, and he was worried that there would be some sort of stray shot during class, possibly hitting him. Plus, there was the whole thing about him being here against his own will in the first place.

Upon reaching the door, Nick took a moment to breathe, then opened the door and walked in.

Reno sat as his desk with his feet up, and then heard the door open. He quickly took his feet down and looked at the door to wait to see who would enter.

Please be hot! Please please please be hot!!

Reno watched in anticipation, and then let out a groan of disappointment as Nick walked in. "Ugh, a dude." Reno said out loud. "Whatever, take a seat. We're going to get started soon enough." the Turk informed him. Reno wasn't really interested in teaching anyone about anything, but he didn't have a choice. As long as he got his pay and some booze, he wouldn't mind it too much.

Or if there were a nice pair of legs around.

A bit of luck followed Reno's way, as the next person to step into the room was Megaera. While Nick was timid, Megaera was confident, casually looking around the seats and practice environment set up in the room.

If Reno had bothered to look through the logs, he might have noticed her coming... Although her mode of dress was decidedly less hot than the data photos that had been given when she was in her normal clothing. The Turks uniform wasn't designed to accentuate the female form very well, the pants perfectly pleated to hide her legs, and her chest bound under the fully zipped-up coat, and probably further bound back underneath for comfort reasons. Her hair, at least, was well groomed, and her appearance was pretty controlled.

She also noticed the instructor, immediately recognizing Reno's reputation and moving back a little.

Just my luck I get the one famous for being a lecher. She sighed a bit. And I formally have to undergo classes even though I've proven my skills. At least passing should be quick.

Reno looked at his watch, and then noticed someone else coming in. It was a young girl named Megaera, which he had gathered from the info sheets he was given earlier that week. He looked her over briefly, then went back to his watch.

Not my type.

Reno looked towards the door once again, and then at the two recruits. "This it, or are there going to be more people coming?" Reno asked, hoping one of them would know.

[Thief]

Nick looked over at the desks when he was told to take a seat, and walked over to an empty seat, still nervous. He sat down, then looked over at the woman that had followed him in.

Whoa. I wasn't expecting someone like that to show up around here... Well, at least this means I'm not the only one here. Either way, I hope this doesn't take too long...

Then, when Reno asked them if anyone else was coming, Nick found himself caught off guard, so to speak. Of course, his nervousness didn't help.

"I - I - I don't - don't - I don't know," Nick stuttered out.

Reno stared at Nick for a second, and then stood up. He walked slowly over to Nick's desk, and then leaned over it. "What, you got a stutter or something?" Reno said, trying to strike fear into the kids heart. Reno then stood up straight and looked at Megaera, and then back at Nick.

"As you know, I'm Reno. And I'm going to tell you, I don't want to be here anymore then you do. They're not paying me enough to do this." Reno said and then began to walk towards his desk. "So, we're here to learn how to use a gun." he turned around and faced the two. "Either of you fired a gun before?"

[Thief]

Nick leaned back in fear when Reno asked about a stutter.

"No, no, sir, I'm just ne-nervous, that's a-all," Nick said.

Nick tried to take a few deep breaths as Reno returned to his desk. Then, when asked about having used a gun before, he took another deep breath before responding.

"No, I - I haven't," said Nick.

[Celes]

Megaera simply nodded towards Reno as she sat down a seat or two away from Nick - she liked her space.

"I have used guns before, albeit only a few times. Prefer daggers." If Reno had paid attention to her profile, he could probably have guessed the second part, where it mentioned the number of them hidden amongst her uniform.

Reno looked at Megaera and nodded. "Good then, that makes my job easier." he told her, and then looked at Nick. "But you, you're going to be a lot of work." he told the kid. Reno then reached into his jacket and pulled out his handgun.

"This is a standard issue ShinRa Beta handgun. It was 15 shots her clip, it can fire about 3 shots a second if you can squeeze the trigger fast enough, and is generally reliable." the Turk began to pace slightly. "There is little kickback and is quite easy to use." he then leaned in close to Nick and showed him the side of the gun. "The safety is on the side." he said quietly, and then took the function off. "And its only on when you're in the Academy so you new kids don't shoot me in the a--." he explained.

"Any questions so far?"

Nick did his best to pay attention to what was being said despite his nervousness; although he didn't want to be here, he didn't want to think about what would happen if he didn't go through with this. And if he failed this, he'd likely have to go through it again, unless...

Anyway, either way, Nick figured that he might as well try to pass this the first time, to get it over with. As he paid attention, his nerves were just slightly relaxed when Reno went over the deal with the safety. He was still uncomfortable with being here, but at least he now knew that precautions were being taken to hopefully avoid any accidents with these guns.

"N-no, sir," said Nick, when asked if he had any questions.

[Celes]

(I apologize for my slowness.)

Megaera simply shook her head. Where Nick was obvious extremely nervous, she was perfectly calm. She'd seen this gun before, even fired a shot or two.

"No questions." All I'm getting from him is boredom. He's not interested in doing this.

[Reno / Cid Highwind]

Reno then put his pistol back into his jacket and walked back to his desk. He opened up the top drawer, and then pulled out two handguns and walked back over to the two students. "And these are yours." he informed the two, and then placed a gun on either of their desks. "Its going to be your best friend for a long long time, so you'd better treat it right or its going to bite you in the balls." Reno said and laughed slightly. He then walked over to the door.

"Follow me. We're off to the range for practice." he ordered them, and then opened the door.

[Celes]

Megaera simply checked the gun's safety - on, of course - and quickly pulled the clip out to check if it was loaded - it was, of course.

Grinning, she pocketed the gun and stood up. "All right."

[Thief]

Nick simply looked at the gun that Reno put on the desk in front of him for a bit, as he continued to listen to the instructor. He then slowly picked it up, keeping his fingers away from the trigger as he held it. Nick was aware that the safety was on, but considering he was shaking a bit just holding a weapon like this, he didn't want to take any chances. Soon enough, he looked over when he was told to follow Reno for some practice.

"Um, okay," said Nick, as he stood up and started to follow.

Oh, I hope nothing bad comes from this...
