Central Mall
It isn't an overly large mall but the parking lot is almost always full from open to close. From clothing and shoes to toys and gadgets, it would rival the malls in large cities if it weren't for it's location in small town Abilene. The locals don't mind, though. The last thing they need is more teenaged hooligans.

Dixie's Diner
A popular place to go to grab a burger or hang out with your friends. The neon lights and jukebox make it one of those joints that the high school kids consider the place to be. The waitresses serve wearing rollerblades, and the place is open 24/7. If you're interested in a job, ask to speak to owner Dixie Thompson.

Abilene High
The school was built in 1875 to replace the one that had burned down. It had it's grand reopening in 1876 and has remained open each year, offering four years of education beginning with grade nine and through twelve. It is segregated in half, with Caucasian children on one side and non-Caucasian on the other. The school still prides itself on it's superior art, science, and atheletic programs.

Hank's Garage
Owned and operated by old man Hank Weatherby, this garage is the most successful in town. Not only does it serve gasoline, he hires on many people and teaches them how to repair and build vehicles. Everybody loves Hank and his witty sense of humour.

General Hospital
At this point in time the hospital is understaffed. The care offered is superior to other towns but more nurses are needed. The chief of the hospital visits the high school every so often to push for students in appropriate courses to come and work there after graduation.

Calvary Church
It is not the only church in town but it is the only one that is packed every Sunday morning. Reverend Kenneth Northington thoughtfully prepares his sermon every week and reaches out to his congregation with strong faith. Children usually go downstairs for Sunday School during the sermon, but always learn the same lesson.

Capello Lanes
Owned and operated by Luciano Capello, this bowling alley is the only one in town. It features 24 lanes and an adjoining bar and dance hall. Bright neon lights and lively music emanate out of the place whenever it's open, and it's generally though of as one of the livelier spots in downtown Abilene.
