Central Mall
It isn't an overly large mall but the parking lot is almost always full from open to close. From clothing and shoes to toys and gadgets, it would rival the malls in large cities if it weren't for it's location in small town Abilene. The locals don't mind, though. The last thing they need is more teenaged hooligans.

Dixie's Diner
A popular place to go to grab a burger or hang out with your friends. The neon lights and jukebox make it one of those joints that the high school kids consider the place to be. The waitresses serve wearing rollerblades, and the place is open 24/7. If you're interested in a job, ask to speak to owner Dixie Thompson.

Abilene High
The school was built in 1875 to replace the one that had burned down. It had it's grand reopening in 1876 and has remained open each year, offering four years of education beginning with grade nine and through twelve. It is segregated in half, with Caucasian children on one side and non-Caucasian on the other. The school still prides itself on it's superior art, science, and atheletic programs.

Hank's Garage
Owned and operated by old man Hank Weatherby, this garage is the most successful in town. Not only does it serve gasoline, he hires on many people and teaches them how to repair and build vehicles. Everybody loves Hank and his witty sense of humour.

General Hospital
At this point in time the hospital is understaffed. The care offered is superior to other towns but more nurses are needed. The chief of the hospital visits the high school every so often to push for students in appropriate courses to come and work there after graduation.

Calvary Church
It is not the only church in town but it is the only one that is packed every Sunday morning. Reverend Kenneth Northington thoughtfully prepares his sermon every week and reaches out to his congregation with strong faith. Children usually go downstairs for Sunday School during the sermon, but always learn the same lesson.

Capello Lanes
Owned and operated by Luciano Capello, this bowling alley is the only one in town. It features 24 lanes and an adjoining bar and dance hall. Bright neon lights and lively music emanate out of the place whenever it's open, and it's generally though of as one of the livelier spots in downtown Abilene.

Sunset Boulevard
The rich folk of Abilene live on this street. It is a long stretch of large homes and some mansions leading off towards a grand golf course and adjacent pool. There isn't a house on this street without at least two colour televisions, some children growing up very spoiled and others just humble, depending on who raised them.

Mull River Court
Mostly the middle class live on this court in nice but not overly elaborate homes. The people range from well off to quite poor, but all tend to coincide peacefully. Drive slow down this way, because many happy children run freely and play on the streets and in the little park. Mull River is the most populated in Abilene.

Old Quarry Road
It's a long road that seems to go on forever, unpaved and along a stretch of beautiful farmland. Some farms are close together while others are spread out, but expect to see golden fields and grazing cows, wooden fences and tall barns. It is relatively quiet here save for the racing that some do on this backroad.

Drive In
This is the ideal place for a date according to some. It's semi-private but still public, not that a select few care about the latter. They still get up to no good while pretending to watch movies. The place consists of a large screen and stations to park cars, allowing viewers to hear the audio of the films.

Rock Quarry
A hundred years ago it was a mine, but it is now a large canyon with many levels on the way down. It is filled with water and many enjoy going there to jump off of the cliffside and into the water. Halfway down there is a small but secret cave that not many have ventured all the way into. To get to the quarry, drive to the end of Old Quarry Road.

Memorial Park
Located between Mull River and Sunset, the park was built to commemorate those who fought in WWI and WWII. There is an cenotaph in the center with the names of all the fallen from Abilene, surrounded by a large garden. Across a very green lawn and at a respectful distance is a playground for the kids, with a pool on the opposite side.

Wolf Lake
Accessed off of Old Quarry Road, Wolf Lake is fairly large but not so large as to not be able to see the other side. There is a beach area and a few cabins for renting, as well as some small plots of land for camping on. Watch out for the bears at night, as they have been known to raid campsites for food.

Outside of Abilene
Anywhere but here. Perhaps your character likes to travel or is just arriving from somewhere else. Abilene is not big enough to have an airport so an arrival would technically be made somewhere else. Just be sure that wherever you're going, you're still relatively accurate to the time of the place you're in.
