Rules made by Topographic, administrator of Kormada
Edited by Gold Finch, administrator of Eveen

Rules used with Topographic's permission

*GENERAL PLAY

1. Foul language is acceptable, just don't go overboard.

2. Conversation between users must be done on the CHAT or HELP boards. This is merely to help avoid confusion between what is RPG-ing and what is OOC-ing. Remember, this is only if you have a question to ask another player--conversations between characters (as in horses) occur pretty much everywhere else.

3. Respect everyone. If a moderator sees any sign of disrespect to anyone, we have the right to warn you, and if the offenses continue, you will be banned.

4. Three weeks in Eveen is a year. But this does not mean that your full grown horses have to be a year older after three weeks, this is only a MUST for foals.

5. Players inactive for one month will be reminded that they have an account here, and players inactive for two months will be removed from the board, and their characters considered dead. Once you are removed, you may NOT rejoin and 'reincarnate' your characters.

6. Please TRY to spell check your posts. No 'u,' '2,' 'y,' etc. Not only does this ruin the effect of your post, but it is an annoyance, and makes you look as though you are lacking in the intelligence department. Spell checkers can be found on most word programs, or you can have someone beta your work by posting in the HELP board.

7. When posting, terms like 'daggers,' 'knives,' 'talons,' 'blades,' 'apex,' 'zenith,' and 'orbs,' etc. should NOT be used. This is not an actual rule, but a suggestion. For one thing, it makes your post near impossible to understand, and it makes you look like you have serious mind issues. Come on people--horses do NOT have talons! If you want to go on some other board and talk about how the horse raised his apex and attacked another horse with his talons, that's fine. But please, not here.

8. No more than Ten stallions per player please.

*JOINING

To join, go to the JOINING board and post your character's stats. This would include their Name, Age, Gender, Appearance, Brief History, and Alliance (Dark, Neutral, Light, or Rogue). A picture of your horse may be added if you wish, but please keep them to a reasonable size (as in length and width, not file size). Huge pictures just look...stupid, and they distort the page. Once you have posted, you may begin playing!

*CLAIMING LANDS

1. Only stallions may claim land, and only one land per stallion.

*CLAIMING MARES

1. To claim a mare, a stallion may go to the HOMELESS board to find a mare or mares he would like to claim. He could also go to the QUICK CLAIMING board and post his stats under a mare's stats.

2. A stallion cannot claim a mare who is younger than 2 years.

3. A stallion may claim a mare of his own alliance only. I.E. a Light stallion may claim either a Light, Neutral or Rogue mare--not a Dark mare--and vice versa.

4. You can have as many mares as you want

5. A stallion must have a territory to claim a mare.

6. Mares may not leave a stallion without their permission, unless the mare is a Rogue, or if the player playing the stallion has been inactive for one month.

*FIGHTING

1. Either gender may fight either gender over virtually anything, so long as it takes place in the BATTLE GROUNDS.

2. Limit of five posts per person, with only one attack per post.

3. A moderator will judge the fight when it is finished and decide the fate of one or both of the horses involved.

4. If one opponent has not posted in the board for 48 hours, the other opponent wins by default.

General Rules About Battles
1. No characters may post the damages due to an attack on their opponent. This is for the opponent's player to decide. See sample thread below for more information.

2. Any player who plays their character as a "superhorse" or powerplays will lose the battle by default.

3. Moderators reserve the right to end the fight if at any time they witness questionable posts, questionable in the sense of disobeying any rules.

4. Any judgements made by a moderator which seem unfair should be reported to Gold Finch for final decision.

5. Out of Character arguments resulting from a battle, judgement of a battle, etc. may result in warning, suspension, banning, or if the argument takes place in the C-Box, the removal of the C-Box. This is a privalege, and should it be abused, this privalege will be revoked.

6. Opponents who do not post for 48 hours will automatically lose by default. If prior notice is given stating that one opponent will not be able to post for more than 48 hours, this rule is disregarded. This will only be accepted as an excuse once, however, and anyone seen to be repeatedly using such a tactic will lose within 48 hours of not posting.

7. A period of one week must be present between one character's fight, and a second fight involving the same character. Note that this only means it is so if that same character starts the fight. For instance, if Horse 1 was in a battle and finishes, they may not challenge another to a battle until one week after the previous fight has ended. If another character challenges them, they are allowed to battle.
Sample Thread
Stallion 1 threw his weight against his opponent in the hopes of forcing him to the ground.

Stallion 2 struggled to keep his feet beneath him as the other stallion attacked, and by some miracle he managed to, and proceeded to smash two hind legs into the enemy. He thought he felt something give way in the stallion's ribs.

At first Stallion 1 thought his ribs had cracked, but it turned out that the damage was not as heavy as previously thought, though he would be sore the next day. He then launched another attack on Stallion 2...

And so on. As you can see here, one character may attack another, but the victim retains the ultimate choice over how badly their character is injured by the attack. However, the victim may not simply make their character invincible by stating that the attack had no damage whatsoever. This is okay so long as it is not used continuously throughout that particular thread. Moderators who spot someone playing their character as "Superhorse" will automatically end the battle and the "Superhorse" will lose by default.
How Fights are Judged
Moderators will judge fights based on the following criteria:

1. Which character sustained what sort of injuries. Note that this does not refer to the severity of the injury, but rather its location. I.E. if a character recieves a blow to the underside of the stomach, it is probably going to be more hindering than one to the base of the tail.

2. The variety of the characters' attacks. For instance, a character who uses the same attack repetitively stands a lesser chance of winning than does the character who uses a new attack in each post.

3. The creativity/originality of the attacks. Keep us moderators interested by making your battle tactics new and exciting. It is tiring reading battles where the same attacks are used as in other battles, so one who comes up with more original methods of fighting stands an increased chance of winning.

4. The overall skills of the player. One who uses proper grammar, punctuation, does not ABBREVIATE words such as "you" with "u," etc. will be easier to read, and thus more likely to win. Furthermore, this allows players to understand that their posts could use some improvement, and helps them to perfect their skills. If a player seems to be losing battles persistantly, they might want to check out the RPing Lessons board.

Keep in mind that just because a person meets all the criteria described here does not guarantee a win. Occasionally there will be times when an 'upset' of sorts will occur, and the person who does not meet the criteria will win. Overall, just keep these guidelines in mind when posting.

*BREEDING

1. A mare must be at least 3 years of age to breed.

2. Stallions and mares can breed in any season

3. Breeding must take place in the BREEDING GROUNDS

4. You can be graphic when breeding, just be sure to put a 'G' somewhere in your topic so younger players no that you are graphic breeding.

5. When you post the parents' stats after you are done breeding, a moderator or I will come along and give you the foal stats.

6. Mares CAN be forcebred

7. Mares may not be bred again until their most recent foal is 1 year of age.

*ROGUES

1. A Rogue is a mare or stallion who has no definate home or alliance. Yes, NEUTRALS are considered an alliance. They are wanderers, travelling in and out of various lands without hesitance, and are known for appearing to fight for one side, and then suddenly changing sides. They are untrustworthy and disloyal.

2. Rogue stallions may NOT claim mares or land.

3. Rogue mares MAY be "claimed" by a Dark, Neutral, or Light stallion, but NOT by another Rogue.

4. A Rogue may at any time decide to ally with one side, but may only make this decision once. To do so, post in the CONVERT board that you are a Rogue wishing to convert to a Dark, Light, or Neutral. Neutrals may also convert, but only once. Once a Rogue has converted, they may claim land or mares if they are a stallion.

5. Rogue stallions MAY breed with mares of any alliance, whether they are homeless or not.
