Canal Builiding

Near mid-day, a transport flying a Vanarambaion flag beached on Akiiryan shores. Dozens of people in hardhats jumped out and started unloading massive amounts of supplies and equipment. The person who seemed to be in charge of this group of engineers looked off into the horizon. "Wonder where the Akiiryans are..."

Out of Meda harbor sailed three ships with dozens and dozens of digging machines on board. The threesome sailed east, towards the southern end of the canal that's being built in eastern Vanarambaion colony. The men and women where in a good mood, they had been on Meda for several months building the infrastructure. This new job seemed challenging, besides the good pay they were promised when the project was complete.

Once the southeastern cape of the colony was passed, the three ships sailed north, where they would soon encounter a delegation from Vanarambaion which would lead them to a safe place to harbour.

Akiiryan engineers arrived with their equipment shortly after the Vanarambaion engineers arrived and started to prepare. With them was a government official he approach the Vanarambaion party with a map

"Whats this about ceded?"

Akiiryan engineers continue their joint work with Orinian and Vanarambaionese engineers on the canal in plot 47. By all reports work is a head of schedule.

Reports from the Vanarambaion side of things are not so rosy. Planners did not take into account a particularly ferocious species of disease-carrying mosquito that was holding up work by decimating the workers, causing Vanarambaion to ship more in while it tried to find a pesticide that would kill the whole lot of bugs.

Akiiryu reports canal building is proceeding as planned. In light of Vanarambaion's experiences Akiiryu has increased its medical staff at the canal building site and is actively involved in developing a mosquito eradication program.

You could use swallows, they eat a lot of flying bugs. Spiders can help too. A third option would be a lighter and some deodorant , or just some napalm.

Vanarambaion would like to announce the imminent completion of its portion of the canal, despite continued problems with disease.

OOC: Can we consider this canal finished?

Vanarambaion would like to announce that not only is the canal finished, but the area surrounding the canal has been settled and defensive structures have been set up to safeguard the canal against the terrorist groups that have run so rampant in the region recently.

OOC: I was going to give this territory up, but it doesn't make any sense, honestly. There is a one-mile strip which is official Vanarambaion-Akiiryan-Orioni joint property, in which the canal lies. The surrounding land has been settled, and has the usual defensive structures set up to protect the populace and canal.
