Election Excitement Ends

On the 30th of September, Prime Minister Hennigania announced the results of the first cabinet election in nearly a year. The Prime Minister said the following:

QUOTE
I hereby declare the following people winners of the election and hence voted into the Jethnean cabinet:

Santa8 / Speaker of the Assembly
Internal Affairs Minister / Bolcheva
Foreign Affairs Minister / Oodge

In all, 9 people voted in these elections, which has been deemed as 'acceptable,' with the region's situation slowly returning to normal. Soon after these elections however it became apparent that the elected Foreign Affairs Minister, Oodge was inactive, so he was removed from his position and replaced by Tommattox, who was later approved by the JRA.

We at the Jethnean Journal wish all the new cabinet members the best of luck with their new positions.

Two New Acts!

On the 4th of October the JRA passed The Jethnea Jurisdiction Act, which set up the new court system for Jethnea, and (re)introduced the position of Chief Justice to the region. Very soon after, snap elections were held for the position, and the only nominee, Drop Your Pants, was elected. One voter said, "I can't believe DYP will be the Chief Justice, what if Spam Laws are introduced?" We sincerely hope this never happens.

The second act was The Jethnea Election Act which was passed on the 5th of October. This act simply outlined the election process and who was eligible for election, which, unlike an Athenian democracy, includes pretty much everyone.

Currently the JRA is discussing the Reponsibilities of the Monarchs. Much confusion arose during the opening of this discussion as JRA members began shouting about what their Monarchs should be doing to improve the region, while the original intention was to outline the duties of the Monarchs. The Queen was seen shouting back, "Let them eat rake," before charging at the assemblymen with an assortment of garden equipment. No charges are being made against the Queen at this time.
