How are we going to do this? I think you should just hyperlink the other forum for this at least.

I don't see a reason to do this, since these message boards are for all studio bones productions. Why should they have to sign up once again for another forum to discuss an anime?

The other forums areeven deader than we were. I think the best option is just ignore them. Though since they were running while the show was, I'd imagine that this section won't get much activity.

Yeah, but putting up that link might make the Xam'd forums less dead.
And anyways, they're not completely dead. If I make a Xam'd AMV, I post it there (I still have the footage.) =P

But why should this forum sacrifice despearately needed activity to a smaller and more inactive forum?

I just don't see the point of harboring discussion for Xamdou here instead of at its comfortable home that was already made and harbored like a child. It seems pretty lame, honestly, to try and take away from other forums just to make yours bigger and less dead, Matt. I think this transformation move isn't going to make this place any better, and I actually think it's going to destroy this forum.

I have to agree with Hush. I don't see why we can't just link the forum from here like we did in the old days. It could certainly use the activity.

And Hush, buddy, I have to disagree with you about the transformation killing this place. This place was close to death enough before we did it. We all chose this. We suggested this to Matt because we knew that if we did not do something soon, we would be facing death. We are just trying to adapt to changing times. Eureka Seven was great, and everything about it was great as well, but we ran out of things to talk about. This isn't the death. This is just our way of trying to adapt to a new situation.

I don't even know how to get to the xam'd forum, anymore. But I do know it's been almost dead for quite awhile. I doubt that a hyperlink from here would revive it, even if not for the absence of possible future material. We're just not a big enough site here to be effective at redirecting traffic, especially for a site that can't generate any content to bring in its own traffic, anyway.

The Xam'd forum just isn't structured in a way to keep active now that the show is over. It wasn't all that active in the first place, for that matter. Look at all the successful and surviving anime sites on the web. Not many for short-term, past-airing series. That's just not how the system works. No amount of griping or accusing Matt of trying to steal traffic will change that. And on the topic of stealing content, go try saying that to all the sites dealing with anime in general. See how far that argument goes. The internet is a free-market economy, basically. (Even if the economy is based on reputaion, content, and web cred.) A place provides a product, and if you don't like it, you can try to start your own site. It's pathetically easy to run an internet start-up, the only question is whether you can really compete.

Which is precisely why having an anime forum dedicated to Bones creations would bring more acitivity in the long run. Bones is always coming out with an anime, games, etc. A forum dedicated to BONES has a better chance at a longer lifespan than a forum dedicated to a short anime like Eureka Seven or Xam'd. You can only talk about so much regarding an anime before you run dry. That's what happened with this forum, and this is our solution.

And with regard to not being able to find the Xam'd forums anymore, I'll just leave this here...

I'll just leave this here then for those who don't remember the link...

Whatever. This forum is literally gone. I'm gonna stop showing my face around here if you all want this forum to turn into a general anime based one. Fans of a studio? Get over yourselves. This was for Eureka seveN and the beauty that still exists in the series. It's honestly just pathetic to change the first forum ever for the anime just to grab more traffic. It's selfish and stupid. We all are already friends. Why do you crave new people so much? This is a destruction of what's good here. I'm out.

There's nothing wrong with wanting a more active site. smile.gif E7 has pretty much wound down now, and as much as I loved the show, there isn't all that much to talk about anymore. People put a lot of work into the forum, and I see no reason it should go to waste. So we have a somewhat wider focus. So what? It's not like the essential character of the site is going to change. We are not becoming ANN or 4chan here. It can still be a friendly site where we talk and have fun. And it isn't like the E7 aspect of it is going to go away. In fact, it would be more likely to vanish if nothing changed, because then we would fade into peaceful obscurity.

Yes, many of us are already friends. But there's nothing wrong with making new friends, is there? Why is that bad?
