The Plot

The year is 4310 and the world stands divided in the tall shadow of World War VII. Countries have fallen and in their stead have risen City-States across the globe, each self governed and most are self sufficient though others have turned to trade on the steadily growing world market. One such city-state is home to one of the most successful businesses in this new earth's economy, Bastion Cybermetrics.

This is Epsilon.

Unfortunately, Bastion has strong holdings over the city, controlling it's government and more than that, they have devices called 'mindlinks' embedded into the brains of Epsilon's people. While a mindlink is normally a choice for people of other city-states, it's a requirement for the people of Epsilon. Mindlinks are installed soon after birth and most of the population is unaware of what they do in their entirety.

Bastion Cybermetrics can use these mindlinks to access the minds and bodies of their wearers. Bastion can alter trains of thought or even manipulate the physical movement of anyone with a mindlink installed to their brain and afterwards they can clean up the damage by simply altering the memories of the individual and even those around them who were witness to the manipulation. In Epsilon there are no security cameras, only the eyes of her people. In Epsilon there are no police, only the bodies of her people. In Epsilon there is no propaganda, only the mindlinks.

But Bastion Cybermetrics has just recieved a new problem that isn't so easy to handle. The Black Hospital has cracked the secret to cracking mindlinks, hacking into them and disconnecting that person from the mindlink network. They have already begun selling the operation to would be delinquents and it's already begun to show. Crime rates in Epsilon have spiked and the people have begun to grow restless as more and more Bastion Cybermetrics has to hack into people's mindlinks and indirectly make people handle the violence and with so many occurrences they can't catch all of the witnesses on the network and edit their memories. Bastion Cybermetrics has started to get just a little sloppy and there's a group forming to stop it.

They call themselves the Epsilon Truants Agency.

Their main priority is to usurp Bastion Cybermetrics and free the city of Epsilon, to reform the blind followers of the religion that is their mindlinks and to bring forward the dawn of a new, free Epsilon.
