Tayten walked into King Cross with her parents, a first year at Hogwarts this year, wow. Growing up in a magic filled home, she half knew what to expect. However, she was still nervous as all get out. Boarding the Hogwarts Express was the most terrifying part overall. Tayten knew no one, not that making friends was a problem, because it most certainly wasn't. With her bags in tow, she made her way to an empty compartment. Tayten plopped herself into the seat, and stared out the window. She saw her parents and she slipped them a wave, thinking about it now she was really going to miss them. Tayten bent down and rummaged through her bag and withdrew her first year Defense Against the Dark Arts book. She was fully aware that this was going to be her favorite class, well aside from potions that is. When Emery and November Solomon attended Hogwarts they were members of the Slytherin House, so it was only right if there daughter Tayten was sorted into the same house, right? Tayten started reading the book, filling herself with all the knowledge it held, she couldn't help wanting to succeed. After awhile, Tayten realized the train had started moving, and that she was no longer alone in her compartment, a young boy about her age was sitting across from her. She looked at him from over her book not wanting to be noticed. It's not that she was shy, it was that she really didn't like socializing with people that she did not know. After staring at the boy for awhile, Tayten looked back down at the page and continued reading. A little longer later, the train came to a screeching stop. Tayten jumped out of her seat and ran to the window in excitement. In the far of distance you could see Hogwarts lit up in all of its glory. One by one the students filed off the train, and into one of the many boat they had there to carry the students to the castle. Tayten was in awe, nothing like this had ever occurred in her life before. While traveling across the body of water, Tayten saw many different types of creatures, there were mermaids and merman's, so interested in her surroundings Tayten didn't realize that they were approaching Hogwarts quickly. The students were now separated into years. The first year Hogwarts students were to remain in the hallway until all the other students had taken their seats at their respected tables. Marveling at the moving portraits is what Tayten did, as with many of the other students. The portraits were truly remarkable, nothing she had ever seen before. Finally, all the students were seated and it was time for the first years to be sorted. Since Tayten's last name was Solomon she would have awhile wait. She watched student after student be sorted into one of the four houses. Then after what seemed like an eternity she heard the Professor call, “ Solomon, Tayten Jesimae.” Tayten walked wearily to the stool and slipped on the sorting hat. It said “Ah! The daughter of the great November Silence. I knew that one day her daughter would walk these halls in her footsteps. Better be....SLYTHERIN!”
