Really, it’s all Voldemort’s fault.
If he hadn’t decided to mess with time, none of this would have happened.
Unfortunately, however, it did.
And no one knows quite how to set it right again.

No one’s sure what Lord Voldemort meant to accomplish: perhaps he was trying to bring a powerful witch or wizard ‘back to life’ by bringing into the present, rather than making the person an inferi. Perhaps he thought he could gain something by traveling into the past or gain something from someone traveling into the present. No matter what Voldemort thought, though, doesn’t change what happened: the students of Hogwarts during the time of James Potter and Sirius Black were thrown into the present.

Of course, they didn’t appear in a huge, crowded mass – because in the Wizarding World, nothing’s ever that simple. They were thrown all over; some ended up inside Hogwarts, some in the frightening grasp of the Forbidden Forest, and others in different countries, with no idea whatsoever as to what is going on. So what are the wizards and witches going to do when they find these people that are in the wrong decade? And will they be found by the right people?

That’s not the only thing that’s going on, though. There is some good news, yet: Hogwarts is reopening. Despite McGonagall’s misgivings, she eventually gave way to Sprout’s advice and the other teachers agreed – this is the last safe haven in the world. Of course, that also meant that few students were going to come; in fact, there were only about fifty that decided to return to Hogwarts, including Ginevra Weasley and Luna Lovegood and, as it would turn out, Draco Malfoy. Because he did not actually murder Dumbledore, and because he is on the run from the Dark Lord, and because a part of the message Dumbledore left The Order was to have him return to Hogwarts, he is back.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on the search for the horcruxes – and everyone else is trying to stay alive.

But what about those that have entered this reality from the past?
What are they going to do?
