Ooc: I was hoping some loners would come here and meet Stolz and freaking join the pack! 8D Seriously.. The pack wolf / loner ratio is about 1/3

Pride...

The world swam slowly, blurrily, into view. Stolz blinked the dreamland form his eyes a few more times, though he didn't neccesarily want to wake. He had been in the most wonderful dream, a cold brittle night. He had been standing high on a boulder, howling up to the sky. A regal pose.. as a leader of a large pack. One by one, dozens of wolves had lifted their maws to join in the soulful harmony of victorious life. His eyes blazed with the hurt, the burning pain of having, heading, a truely suffering pack.

He jumped to his feet, suddenly full of longing-driven energy. He almost flew out of his large dry den, paws brushing fist dirt then long grass. Making a sharp turn, he dived into another sandy cave-like den. "Lela," she growled, nudging the sleeping wolf. She sat, blinking. "Wha--?" Here she let out a huge yawn, her pink tougne stretching far out of her mouth. "What's happening?" "Come on," he said. "We go recruiting again this day." She had enough repect and dignity not to roll her eyes at her alpha, but it was a close thing. They did twitch, a couple times, as if aware of that rude possibility. Instead, she obediantly followed him out of her sleeping place, and towards the far side of the territory, the large open field.

OoC: sorry if my rping is a little off today. my best friend decided to quit talking to me and block me so i'm kinda depressed

Nightsong drowsily walked into a large field. She was tired from walking so long without resting any. She kept telling herself that she had to find the source of the scent she picked up. After this, she said to herself, I'll find somewhere to rest. After I get through this field. She searched the ground for any signs of life. She saw some fresh mouse tracks, but that was all. Doesn't seem like many come out here. I would probably have better luck after I get out of here. At this thought she sped up to a trot.

Ooc: Oh, I'm sorreh -huggle- I know how it feels.. My friend blamed me for.. -trails off- Well, nevermind.. Sorry if I make no sense, I just got back from a movie and it's mignight xD

Pride...

Stolz and his still-yawning sidekick continued through the mossy trees. "Why do we do this every day? We never find anyone." Solz sighed irritably. Lela constantly complained, complained.. It was simply so annoying. "Because," he said through clenched teeth. "One day, we might!" Turning to face front once more, he stalked off, leaving Lela to blink a few times before running to catch up.

After a while, the sun now breaking over the tops of the old trees, the forest began to thin. Before long, the two wolves entered the edge of a huge clearing. They stepped out confidently, after all, this was their territory. But the search for new members must be done a little outside, at least, their own borders. So they continued... Suddenly the pair froze, ears and tails twitching. They sensed smething, though their noses did not detect it yet.

"Another wolf," Lela breathed, bounding forward. Stolz hissed in alarm and annoyance and dragged her back. "We approach regally, not like the blundering pup you still are! Watch and learn, you my someday be in a place such as this." Her eyes shone at this half compliment, half lecture. She stared as he walked forward, head out, shoulders high and thrown back. One could almost call it strutting. He came nearer to the other wolf, Lela at his heels. "What do you seek on our land?" he called out. Lela glanced at him in admiration. What a grand opening. She turned, and waited for the wolf's reply.

OoC: i'm am just having bad luck with days this week...today i had a bad and extremely long day at work. ugh...*passes out*plus i have cherry jello in my nose

Nightsong ears perked up when she saw the two newcomers. When she looked at the male wolf before her, she was overwhelmed by his stature and the strong presence of his pride. She quickly bowed before him, assuming he must be an alpha. "I wish to join a pack," she said getting straight to the point. She debated whether to look up at him or not. He seemed strict and that he wouldn't tolerate anything disrespectful. Her eyes wandered a little and fell on the pup behind him. She wondered if it was the older one's.

Ooc: .. Jello? -doesn't ask- Luckily I don't work... -has to work next summer- Ewww.. I'm so looking forward with great amazing anticipation... (read as 'dread') xD

Pride...

Stolz had been looking at his own black nose, his slitted golden eyes glittering with his own pride and anticipation. Would this wolf join them? She seemed fit enough, certainly more so then any of the sickness-tainted creatures that now he called his pack.

She spoke, and his eyes widened in surprise at her blunt answer. Giving himself a small shake to rid himself of shock, he regained his pose quickly, eyes fixed on the wolf at his feet. She was strong, well enough to fight at his side, if she was willing and loyal. But then, he thought, seeing her pose now, both eyes and body lowered respectably. Giving her a few minutes to wonder about his answer, he answere grandly. "You wold be welcome to join us, if that is your wish--" Lela made a strange noise beside him. He turned to give her a withering glance. "But you must prove you are fit and loyal before I accept you. Understand?"

Once again Lela sqeaked, and he flung out a forepaw and caught her in the shoulder. She winced as a few droplets of blood seeped out. But all the while his eyes remained fixed on what may be his first recruit.

OoC: the jello thing...yeah..things are better left unsaid...but yeah i work part-time 3 days a week....good luck on next summer with your job happy.gif thanks again for the table XP

She awaited patiently for his answer, her eyes at the ground again. When he she heard his answer, she could barely contain her joy. She hid it well, but thankful she wasn't looking at the wolf because she knew that it was obvious in her eyes and probably in her face too. When she heard the rest of his words she was hesitant. She wasn't expecting a test of loyalty, not that she didn't have any. But if it would help her be accepted in a pack- "Yes I understand. I will do whatever you ask," she said calmly to the tall male, hoping that she didn't sound desperate or anything.

Ooc: -sigh- Thanks, ish xD

Pride...

Still taken aback by this strange wolf's forwardness, Stolz thought quickly. What could she do as a test? What if-- Beside him, Lela made that strange noise. He whirled on her. "Don't. you. say. anything!" Her eyes wide, she took a pace or two back, but in her eyes were still that hopefu, sort of urgent look. Deciding quickly, he spoke, hoping his words were the right ones. "I must disscuss this with my pack. We-- Shut up, you ignorant--"

Lela had stepped forward, looking the stranger straight in the eyes. "The truth is--" Stolz gave a warning hiss. "We, ummm.. our pack is not at it's strongest. We need wolves to protect the territory and help us rebuild. You could be such a wolf, if you wish." Here she paused to glare at her leader. "And it isn't wise to send off wolves that could aid us on fruitless journeys to prove bravery and loyalty." She took a breath. For such a shy wolf, this was turning out to be a remarkable speech. "Give us your strength, your instincts and senses. We can give you a home, a family. Gift us with your loyalty, and you will have a pack." She nodded briefly and stepped back, ready to take in Stolz's fury.

But instead, he nodded. "Making this pack strong will be hard work," he murmered, half to himself. "That would be quite enough to test your true intentions. And we could use your abilities." At this, his shoulders sort of sagged, and he bent his head in a small display of reluctant repsect.

When the little wolf spoke, Nightsong's gaze came back to her. She was surprised at her speech, she spoke wisely for one so young. She gave the pup a kind look when she finished speaking. When the male spoke, her attention left the pup and went to him. She was happy that she wouldn't have to do a wild test of loyalty. But she was draw aback when he lowered his head in respect. She lifted her own a little and said "I would be honored to help your pack."

Ooc: In case you're wondering.. I don't have a table for Lela, and since she's with Stolz I'm just useing this one xD

Pride...

Immediatly regaining his usual stiff regal pose, Stolz nodded. Turning toward Lela with a gleam of rare appreciation in his gold eye, he gave her a whisper of thanks as they changed direction. He waved his tail behind him in a signal to have the stranger follow.

Lela fell back, walking easily beside Nightsong as if the two had known eachother forever. "So.. umm.. what's yor name?" she asked, feeling akward. Glancing forward to make sure that speaking with the new wolf was okay with Stolz, she turned admiring eyes on the female. She was much larger then Lela, all grey with white on her belly and black on her tail and face, all neatly against her body. Self-conciously, Lela smoothed down the creamy fur on her chest and waited for a reply.

OoC: actually i didn't think about it before XP why are we the only ones posting?

She followed the two wolves and watched them admirably. She was in a pack now and she couldn't be any happier. She looked down at the pup who made the speech as she fell behind to walk beside her. "I'm Nightsong. What's yours?" She looked affectionately at the pup as if she was her own. Nightsong had never seen a pup other than her sister when she was a pup herself. She couldn't get over how cute she was and wondered if she was that cute when she was her age.

Ooc: They're being all unactive D< Grrrrr...

Pride...

Squirming uncomfortably under the wolf's gaze, she answered, her voice at least half an octive higher then it usually was. "Lela." Folding her ears close to her head, she looked back up at Stolz. Why was he going so slowly? Usually about here he-- Ahh. There we go. Ahead of them, their leader had leaped suddenly into a sprint. "Well," Lela said over her shoulder. "It seems he wants to test you on some things anyways." She streaked ahead, muscles stretching, pushing, to keep up with who was probably the strongest wolf she knew.

OoC: bad members T.T

She watched the two wolves run ahead. She really didn't feel up to it but she forced herself. She took off into a sprint to catch up. She didn't know how much longer she could last since her energy was dropping more as she ran. She tried to keep her mind off of it. She focused her mind on the wind of the wind blowing her fur and tail. Her ears flattened against her head as she started to enjoy this run as she caught up to them. Just don't think about being tired, she told herself.

Ooc: I know, right? Gar.

Pride...

Solz kept the pace all the way to camp, not bothering to check if the other two were near him. Wind flew through his fur. His heart racing, he felt.. free. Invigorated. This was his land, his pack... He closed his eyes briefly, and ran down the small path by scent and sound alone. By the time he opened his eyes with a sigh, he was in the middle of all the dens. He let out a loud long howl, alerting his pack to come to him. "We have a new member," he began to cry, but it caught in his throat.. Something was wrong here... Very wrong indeed. His nose twitched. Blood had been spilt here... He nosed his way into the nearest den, only to find Litteken dead, dragged back into her den after a visious fight. He backed out, trying not to tremble.

Lela came up behind him, gasping. "We scented them! They were here.. What--" She fell off, looking at the devasted, blood-spattered area before them. "They destroyed us." she said quietly. "We have no hope now."

OoC: *random* i'm hungry...

When Nightsong approached the area her first thought was to collapse and just sleep. But as she came nearer something told her that something bad had happened. As she saw the male and Lela then the scene before them confirmed her suspicions. She dropped her head sadly. She couldn't think of anything to say. All she could do was watch the other two and try not to look at the dead wolf.

I madeth a table for Lela! -prays it works-

Lela stood, stunned. Blood spattered the bottom of the old-growth trees, the trampled leaves underfoot. But there was somehting worse then all those. Far, far worse... Her dark eyes clouded as she stared at her mother. But it wasn't her mother anymore. The deep gash in her side went right across her old scar from the fire. She whimpered, stepping forward.

Stolz held her back. "Lela," he murmered. "There's nothing--" But Lela would have none of that. She flung herself to her mother's side, weeping over the bloody mass. It was horrible, terrible... She stayed there for quite awhile, though she did not know exactly how long. It would have been mere minutes, or it could have been stretched across many aeons. When she finally looked up again, her eyes were filled with pure hate, though the edges were glistening with tears. That pack, that mad pack would pay for what they had done. Shaking slightly, she rose to her feet, and let out a howl so eerie and full of revenge there was no doubt of her intentions. She was going to avenge her mother, whatever it took. In her howl, she cried out to her lost pack, cried out to the only two wolves she had left now. Cutting off abrubtly, she turned with frightening speed toward the others. "We must have revenge," she hissed, a line of mad-driven drool hangin from her mouth. "They will pay!"
