Serukh was not known for his warping skills, it was true, but this was a whole new level of 'oops' than he was normally accustomed to. He usually at least got the right continent! Or... somewhere over the ocean near the continent. This time though he'd been trying to warp to Thalron and Sen who were in their old cave in the north, and managed to miss. Shooting himself clear across the ocean and onto a whole new level of frozen hell (especially for a desert draconian.).

As he emerged from his warp, which expended almost all of his available energy, he found himself skidding across what seemed to be a frozen lake, unable to stop himself from sliding right across into a waiting snow bank with a hefty 'oof'. His head was still spinning from the warp, but the blindingly painful cold was rather sobering to that effect. Before he was even fully aware of how cold it was his body was shaking and spasming somewhat, he forced himself to climb out of the snow and look around though, maybe he wasn't too far off? There was a lake near their... home...

As far as he could see in any direction was the surface of this frozen 'lake' which he now believed to be some sort of ocean, it's reflective surface was somewhat confusing and mesmerizing, but not enough to distract him from the snow and biting cold. This was far colder than any temperature he'd experienced in the north before... And he'd used up almost all of his energy just getting here. He was just thankful he had learned one or two things about surviving in frozen wastelands. One was that even though snow was cold, it would protect you from the winds which were often even more dangerous... So after calling for help several times he burrowed back into the snowbank and used the snow for some rather cold... Insulation. He was pretty sure if he lasted out here long enough someone might come looking for him... He just hoped it was before any nasty snow critters picked up on his extremely potent, and rather alluring scent. Even in this cold if someone was downwind they might be able to smell a very exquisite smelling chocolate emanating from his location.

Bone-chilling winds tore through the endless expanse of purest white, carrying frigid blasts of subzero air. Beneath the dunes of ice and snow lie a Draconian in waiting, hidden from view. The Far Northern's shimmering coils wrapped tightly beneath the snow cover for warmth, her natural, dense coat providing more than enough heat to sustain her for days on end. However, despite her rather enormous length, she was utterly invisible in the vast wasteland when she did not wish to be seen. Covering herself took little time if she coiled correctly, allowing the drifting winds to drown her prismatic coat with bleached snow. It came in handy during guard duties, as it did for her now. While she, a Royal, was not technically required to do such, she preferred the solitude that the watch offered and, she supposed, so did her immediate colleagues to be rid of her harsh tongue.

A faint electromagnetic pulse in the distance flickered against her skin, the sign of a heatbeat. The being wasn't large, nothing immediately dangerous by a commoner's judgement. Perhaps a snow beast, though she couldn't quite tell at this distance. Platinum nostrils flared briefly behind the wind, inhaling the cold air into expansive lungs to detect anything significant in the traveler's smell. Almost at once, a sudden...strange...and totally out of place odor entered her olfactory system. Her head instinctually jerked up at the foreign smell, casting a wave of white powder from her horns into the blast of wind. She bared her fangs slightly and growled.

Chocolate?

What in Creation's name was that particular odor doing here? The thought of an intruder in their home brought a steely grimace to he face. If someone had managed to warp here, of all places, they might as well be dead without proper preparation. She angled her nose toward the point of origin and began to rise to her feet. Drifts of snow fell of the fae's long feral form as she stalked forward, quiet and set on her target. Narrahkra paused, coming to the vicinity of the freezing Desert dweller, left foot poised still in the air as she stood deathly still. The heartbeat was stronger toward the right. Her head slowly rotated toward a nearby snow mound. It was no frozen beast, but that of a strong heart, a familiar but alien feel of another Draconian in the wasteland.

"I know you are here," she called out clearly above the winds. Her voice resonated cold distance, one of commanding authority. "Show yourself now, foreigner." Narrahkra's talons clacked against the icy surface of the frozen ocean, metal zips sparking with raw electrical energy. "Or....if you refuse, a few thousand volts aught to change your mind."

The dragon beneath the snow was not faring nearly as well as one that was born here, already he was shivering and spasming slightly as he attempted to remain warm. His mind was attempting to reach out to the people that he knew how to contact, but they all appeared to be out of his rather... limited range. Especially given that he had used most of his energy in the warp... Ugh... They really needed to figure out how to unlock whatever element he had... Maybe that would let him warp like a normal person instead of pointing in the right direction and hoping to arrive in the right general area.

His body shook a bit as he heard the wind whip about the mound of snow he had tunneled into, and for a moment he thought he heard a voice but it turned out to be nothing. The chances of anyone finding him out here were so slim he was rather sure any voice he'd hear would likely be Sen-- Well, the other Sen. maybe both of them, he doubted the mortal one would let him leave that easily because then her source of chocolate would dry up. He tried to lighten his thoughts by thinking about being back in the desert at night- it was really cold then too... Maybe he'd be fine for long enough to warp somewhere warmer.

Then he thought he heard a voice again, it was muffled by the snow and wind somewhat but he was pretty sure he wasn't just imagining things again... Listening closely, the next couple of words out of the far northern draconian were heard much more clearly... She was... threatening him already? He thought the people out here were somewhat solitary but nice...

"U-umn... It-it-it's a bit... too c-cold out there..." He said, though it was likely barely heard over the winds. Getting electrocuted didn't sound as bad as usual though, even if it would probably- err... definitely do more harm than good. "I-i'm... j-j-j-just a.. a little... l-lost..." he murmured out as he managed to peek out of the entrance, well, at least raise his head up enough that if she looked in she'd see the unsurprisingly chocolate brown desert draconian, though it might be odd to see one out and about in its feral form as well. Even his feral form though the short fur did almost nothing to protect him from the chill of this place.

Now that Narra was closer though, she'd notice the chocolate scent was rather strong and seemed a lot more appealing than just plain chocolate...

The stuttering voice that came from within the mound of snow she expected more or less, but as the figure emerged somewhat, his overwhelmingly chocolate aroma set an uncharacteristic look of surprise across her cold features. The powerful smell invaded her nostrils, drowning her sense of smell with the pleasant odor. Her claws ceased to clack against the ice. She mumbled absently in response, "You're....lost...?"

With a huff, Narrahkra lowered her great neck down to the level of the shivering Desert dweller and peered at him with a narrow gaze of questioning. While she was cold, yes, and shallow, she wasn't without some level of compassion toward her kin...however distant they may be. Her own adopted fledge had taught her that much, at least. After all, not everyone was blessed with a fur coat for this kind of weather. She spoke in a lower tone now, the agitation leaving her voice for the time. "....Apologies for my hostility. We do not receive many visitors this far north and, quite frankly, I'm not very accustomed to wandering strangers in the wastelands," the fae explained. She inched closer, wrapping the coils of her body closer to blockade the worst of the wind from Serukh's face.

"I suppose I won't do any good by letting you freeze out here," she continued, pulling back her head and resuming the distant demeanor from afar. While she could stay out here for long period of time, he, however, could not, and would likely freeze. The ice palace awaited, a much warmer place to talk than it would be out here. "Come with me, and maybe once you've thawed a bit you can explain to me how someone like you comes as close as you have to the northern pole...and why you smell like chocolate."

Serukh nodded somewhat when she mumbled that response, it was one of the many times he was glad that his scent had the habit of killing hostility aimed at him... Even if it had a habit of making other people fight for his attention, no one... else.. .was around... He shivered a little more vividly, parts of his mind hoping that he wouldn't get her too infatuated with him, a side effect that his scent had on most females... and males... the latter just took longer before they broke down.

His head bowed slightly when she leaned in, his body shifting in the makeshift shelter so he could sit in a somewhat more proper angle to converse with her. "Far north..?" That comment was not terribly specific, but he got the feeling his aim was much worse than he had originally guessed... No wonder he was feeling so drained when he arrived. After she moved to shelter him more from the wind, he emerged from his little snow-bank shelter and slid up beside her coils. His body was somewhat lithe, though muscular, a prime example of a desert draconian. The unfortunate part about that was that he still only had the short fur they possessed, small body, and sails designed to help disperse heat. "Ah.. It's..s.. okay." he mumbled out softly in response... The temptation to invade her personal space was rather great, but at the moment he managed to simply lean against the nearest part of her coiled body.

"Freezing... Wasn't r-r-really on my list of things to do today..." He managed with a small chuckle, already he felt like he was frozen but he was pretty sure he hadn't suffered any real maladies yet. He had planned on coming with her, if she hadn't offered he would definitely have asked within moments. When she said he was close to the north pole it confirmed the fear he had, accidentally skipping over an entire continent was pretty impressive though, last time he missed was due to him falling short of the northern continent and appearing in the ocean... Maybe he'd just stop warping after this. "L-l-lead the W-way, I... don't t-think I can f-fly in this w-weather though..."

He almost commented on how he didn't just smell like chocolate- but decided he would wait to say that as he didn't want to get stuck out here with someone drooling all over his feathers. He had enough bits of snow and ice clinging in various places as it was.... Uncomfortable places. He couldn't imagine how she could survive out here in the cold, obviously the fur helped but even then...

"Yes, the Far North," she said, ears twitching back. "Almost as far north as you could possibly get." The fae lifted a forepaw and pointed down toward the ice with a glinting talon. "We are currently standing above the Ice Palace if that gives you some inclination to your whereabouts. Hidden beneath the frozen ocean is our home and city."

Narrahkra snorted slightly at Serukh's chuckled statement, but she cast away the urge to make a snide comment back in light of the Draconian's deteriorating state. He'd not last much longer exposed to this frigid wasteland, nor would he manage a flight to the entrance. They only had one option, not that it wasn't an efficient one. She would have preferred to fly and not touch the foreign Draconian (friendly contact such as the concept of 'hugging' had never been her favored pastime), but the brevity of the matter didn't allow her that. She voiced such, stating, "We will would have to warp inside." Stiffly, Narrah shifted her tail to wrap around the shivering brown Serukh.

In a flash, their barren, bleached surroundings distorted and pleasant warmth suddenly flowed into their immediate vicinity as the enormous concourse of the Palace rose up around them in a jarring transition. It wasn't unbearably warm or hot inside the courtyard, but the drastic change from wicked winds laced with flecks of ice to that of this was in itself quite drastic. The glittering beauty and grandeur around them was a sight to behold. The Far Northern twisted her head around to watch Serukh's reaction with a half-hidden frown that seeped mild smugness.

However, the feeling of eyes drew her away. Ornately dressed Royals and guests began to peer from their walkways with inquisitive gazes. Guests weren't terribly uncommon, but the presence of a very desert-inclined creature might have made them chuckle. Almost as soon as she became aware of the curious looks falling upon the dark brown Draconian at her heels and she, Narrahkra shifted into her bipedal form and turned back toward Seruhk. "Ignore them, they're just curious," she muttered, ushering the nearly frozen male to follow her. She was a 'princess' by birth and shallow by nature, yet the attention -even minute- set her shoulders stiff and uncomfortable within her own home. The platinum-pale fae started to inch off toward the walkways toward the inner halls of the Palace. "Follow me. We'll get you properly warm and fed if you desire. The kitchens ought to be less bustling with activity at this hour."

Serukh had no idea where the ice palace was- it was somewhat of a mystery to anyone who did not live there. People rarely found the entrance unless lead there by an inhabitant, and needless to say a desert draconian would never survive the trip without some special protection... Which this one did not have, not in the least. He was practically built to shed heat. Maybe he'd get someone to make him a coat later...

Regardless of that though, he found himself leaning more fully against her side as she wrapped her tail about him, not only for warmth but he was a fair bit more used to random signs of affection from pretty much... everyone. Whether or not he knew them. "O-okay ju-" he was cut off by the flash of light, and dizzily shifting scenery. Whatever forces blocked his powers from manifesting meant that he didn't have the normal amount of... Equilibrium that most sekaians had when they warped, it was a dizzying mass of colors, shifting masses of shapes, and then an abrupt end as they returned to sekai.

The first thing he noticed upon arriving was that he very barely managed to keep from getting sick on the clear crystal floor. His head swung up as soon as she had said something though the movement meant he partially stumbled to one side, and when he attempted to resume leaning on her found that there was no longer a big dragon there and instead someone about the same height, but with a lot less mass and leverage than he had previously assumed would be present.

...Probably not the reaction, or series of events either of them were expecting at the moment. Chances are they were getting a good amount of attention now though, even if it had only been passing glances before.

"I... think I might need a m-moment first..." he muttered out as he tried to shake off the dizziness... He hoped he hadn't fallen entirely on top of her, but attempted to move to give her room again. "Sorry... I uh... urf..." he paused for a moment. "...Don't do terribly well with warping..." though, saying that now as somewhat of a moot point, he hadn't been given time to voice it before the warp.

He shook his fur a bit as it puffed up, sending some snowflakes and droplets of water flying in various directions. Mostly away from her though, not entirely. He decided now was not the time to tell her he couldn't shift into his bipedal form.

Narrahkra took a startled step back as the brown draconian swayed on his feet, his mass listing a bit too close for comfort, small sparks of static crackling from her horns and fingertips. She skittered out of the way before the floor she had been standing upon was invaded, Serukh trying his best to recompose himself after the warping.

"Are you alright?" she questioned, padding quietly around the crystaline floor to speak to him. In the pit of her stomach she felt some semblance of pity. It was no small wonder why he had seemed so lost. He didn't seem to take well to even the process of warping. She wondered how he even fared warping by himself, though she tried to keep the mental images of a vomiting draconian from the forefront of her mind.

Met with a shaking answer she backed off a little bit again and stood, watching him in case he needed some sort of...help. It was odd, she thought as she narrowed her eyes a tad at the wavering male, that he wouldn't shift into a more compact form. However, his current queasiness and disorientation was probably more pressing a matter. She decided to ignore it for the time being. It wasn't necessary, but perhaps a bit strange.

She snorted inwardly at his request for a moment, but she complied nonetheless. "Very well," the Far Northern muttered, nodding. She flicked her tail irrately behind herself. Though she wasn't the most patient of beings, she'd wait, if a bit miffed. "Take your time in collecting yourself." She crossed her arms and turned her gaze out toward the curious Royals trying to take a peek. "Better you get a hold of yourself here than retch down the hallway on someone's fur."

((>>; I was ignorant of the location of the Ice Palace and how it is....above the ice and not....below. Sen made it clearer to me. Sorry about that. D8))

It didn't take terribly long for the draconian to recover, at least physically. Now that the queasiness was gone there was a new malady in the form of acute embarrassment, the only thing that saved him from looking like a blushing fool was the fact that his entire body was becoming slightly reddened as it re-warmed... And was overcome with and itchy burning sensation, especially in his outer extremities.

"Heh-eh... More or less..." He said as he propped himself up, then got to his feet, only slipping on the smooth floor once or twice in the process. "I already lost my lunch earlier, so you're safe from that at least." He said somewhat jokingly, though it was hard to tell which part of it was a joke. As he looked around again though he began to feel somewhat... out of place, this palace was amazing, and while he had been in the saiumi city many times this was much different, and almost as overwhelming as his first trip to the under-sea city. At least in the domed city the ground was still... ground.

After a few somewhat awe-filled moments he realized there were a number of people staring at him, all probably royals... Some of the looks he got were a little unsettling, a mix between hunger or... Other things. He tried to shrink down a bit and move up beside Narrahkra again. "I think I'm ready to go now." he said a little quickly, she was the only one that seemed to be resisting the effect his scent had on people... For now anyways.

He smiled at Narra as he took a few steps in the direction she had obviously been planning on going, his claws clicking on the crystalline floor. Even the tip of his tail seemed to make a couple odd clicks whenever it touched the floor, and if she had particularly keen eyes she might notice a large number of small slightly curved spikes beneath the trailing fur of it. As they walked she'd find that he attempted to keep her between himself and well, anyone else they passed, he didn't do so in overt enough of a manner to make it look silly, but he tended to slow down or speed up a little bit whenever someone passed. "This place is pretty amazing... Do you really live here?" maybe it was just the palace portion they were in, but this whole place seemed so... pristine, he could hardly imagine anyone actually living here.

For some reason he chose to remain in his feral form, even after the sickness had obviously passed. It was a good thing that Desert draconians were likely the smallest breed around, so far as draconians went. Even with her in bipedal form Serukh wasn't very much taller than her.

She eyed the brown Draconian with another curious glance as he politely declined to shift into his smaller form. While she didn't entirely understand why he choose to remain so -some individuals just did-, she knew better than to pry into his personal choices. Nodding when he said he was ready, she led him on toward the interior of the palace, shooting icy glares at the hovering royals. Her talons clacked briskly upon the hard floor with her hurried steps, a soft tempo amidst the quiet halls.

"Yes, I do reside here," she replied immediately, her voice dry and bitter. Narrahkra preferred the solitude that traveling brought despite having been born and raised here. She continued in a slightly quieter voice, "My parents are the racial leaders of my kind, the Far Northerns."

She caught a glimpse of the multi-hued hide of Rhovan as the little hybrid Draconian skittered around the corner up ahead at the heels of his companions. It was as fleeting her adopted son's pace, but the sight brought a soft smile to the edge of her lips. A moment later it vanished as she remembered again the company she held in tow. "This way," she barked, and turned in the opposite that her son had taken.

A broad door blocked their path. With a steady shove, Narrahkra pushed the right side in and was immediately rewarded with a gust of heated air, laced with the delicious odor of cooking. "Here we are, the kitchens," Narrahkra sighed, pushing the door inward so that Serukh could enter as well. Inside, the enormous kitchen of the palace buzzed with activity. The chefs and servants flittered about as fleeting as birds, tending to their pots, pans, and other instruments with great care. "Here, sit over in the corner to the right so we're out of the way. I'll have someone bring over something warm for us to eat."

As she eyed him he gave her a small smile in return, though for the most part he seemed a bit nervous to be in such a grandiose place. Especially with all the royals that seemed to eye him, he half wondered if it was because he remained feral, and was definitely not suited to the snow... Or if his scent was effecting them already. He tried to push the thought from his mind for now.

His ears flattened a little bit when her voice cut back so bitterly, but soon enough perked up again. "Ah..." He trailed off a little bit as he tried to think of how to make conversation with her, without somehow inspiring more wrath. "I'm sort of a royal, but I wasn't born into it. Sharlirae is my mate." She might know some stories about Sharlirae and Serukh, even if Serukh wasn't always known by name it was known that Sharlirae's mate was a feral from the east which had a few... Odd properties, one of which was supposedly smelling and tasting like chocolate.

When Narrahkra actually smiled it actually surprised him a little bit, though not visibly... He just found it unfortunate that such an emotion failed to linger for even a minute. He shivered slightly when she barked those words out at him, and rather obediently picked up the pace to wherever she had told him to go. The heated air was very... Welcome, though it was also slightly painful as numb things became heated and stung, and itched even worse than they had been. To ease this, he rubbed over his arms and muzzle a bit, though the relief was somewhat fleeting.

He was... Amazed by the giant kitchens, almost entirely forgetting the fact he was still half frozen. Although the chocolate dragon only paused for a moment before darting in and moving to the mentioned table. "This place is amazing... And uhm... Thank you." His head bowed to her lightly, before lifting again and taking a deep breath of the warm, and delicious smelling air. Even if most things smelled like chocolate to him... And most things around him.

Sharlirae, the name was familiar. She recalled a brief image of the dignified Royal Saiumi in the back of her mind, though not much else surfaced at the mentioning of her. She didn't recall Serukh visually, though, perhaps, she had heard of him before by smell. "I know of her, though I don't know her personally," she replied back to Serukh. There was a small table in the corner where those on break took a seat. None were present, so she took the leading chair, turned it to face the chocolate draconian.

No sooner than she sat did wave a hand, beckoned over one of the younger cooks. "Tea, please" she asked, and settled herself further into the chair as he left to get the drink. "What do you eat?" she asked in a slightly warmer tone, drumming her fingers lightly on the table as she looked at him quizzically. Her first thought was chocolate as his warm aroma overcoming the immediate vicinity like a warm odorous blanket. She wondered how he came to reek of the cocoa product, but stifled her tongue, thinking better than to outright ask him at the present moment. Maybe later. "And, pray tell, how did you come about here, in the middle of the frozen northern expanse, from your mate?"

He nodded at her reply and... Well, he sat on the floor next to the table, but his head was at more or less the right height for conversation still. Chairs weren't really that comfortable for feral formed creatures, he made sure to curl his tail around himself to keep it out of the way of wandering cooks or whoever else might be coming through here. He was rather used to crowded places, just usually it felt much more laid back than this place did...

When she ordered tea though he gestured that he would have some as well before the cook had run off. When she asked him what he ate he smiled a little bit as he looked back to her... Contemplating the answer for just a moment. "Meat, mostly. There aren't very many vegetables where I come from..." he paused for a brief moment "Cooked or uncooked is fine." he found that sometimes people automatically assumed that creatures from a feral clan would only eat uncooked meat, but really most of them probably enjoyed the cooked food better. The question of how he got here came up again, but he was in a bit better state of body and mind to answer that question in more words than 'warp accident'. "Ah... I was trying to go meet Thalron and S-sen" He seemed to think about it a little. "Err, I guess Aurora... in their northern home, but I guess I used too much energy and overshot them... I still can't believe I wound up all the way in the far north." He looked a bit embarrassed about what happened, most people he knew were good at warping but so far his usually ended up disastrously without some sort of help. "I came from the desert as well, I don't stay in the saiumi city... It's not too convenient for this form." he sort of mumbled the last bit, but not enough to make it hard to understand. That probably wasn't the entire reason, but he wasn't about to tell all his secrets to some random stranger.

He took a moment to glance around the kitchen again, and stretched in a somewhat restrained manner... Not wanting to knock into anyone or anything around them, though when he stretched a few small bone spurs of some sort seemed to rise up on his back, just to fold back beneath his somewhat short fur to hide again.
