Buildings: Getting your hands on a building is simpler than one would think. All you really need is money. First of all, look up the requirements of the building you are wishing to build. This will tell you the cash required to put the thing together and the materials needed beyond the cash you are putting into it. There’s also a mention of the workers that are needed as well as the time needed to build the building in question.
Getting the materials/workers: This is both difficult and easy, you can do one of two things to acquire the materials and each has ups and downs. The first and probably the simplest is to simply buy the materials from a city at their required price. The other is to hire some workers out and go foresting/mining for the metal ore or stone that you require. Workers are simple enough, you either have acquired minions, slaves or made something robotic to do it for you, or simply enough you can hire workers to do your work for you.
Building the building: Once you have gathered everything you simply have to decide where the building is to be located and wait the allocated time on the buildings requirement. When that time is up and provided you have all the workers etc than you will have a functioning building ready to go.
Maintenance: Some buildings require workers to, produce/operate. As such, you will again need to have workers which can keep the building in operation, these people will usually require a wage of about 200 zeeni a week per worker. Yes this is expensive, however in the right circumstances the buildings needing these workers will produce enough to give you finances.

This here is a simple example of how building a building works. Basically you got the buildings name (Farm) followed by its upfront price in gold (GP) which must be paid up front in order to cover various expenses while building the farm. Next is materials needed to build it in the first place (Wood). While the most practical way to obtain the required amount of wood to build the structure would be to just check the ore page for its cost and simple buy it out, there are other ways of obtaining it such as somehow cutting it down yourself or somehow getting a free handout of some sort.
After that is of course the workers. These poor unfortunate souls are the beating heart of your structure that are required to keep it working / producing whatever it is you need. In this case, you only need 100 every week and like ore, it doesn't matter how you get them. (Although paying them weekly is the easiest way, theres also enslaving people and so forth)
The last two parts of the buildings description are the simpilest part of it all. The total building time it takes to have your structure up and running (1 week) and then a brief summary of what exactly your building does and gives you.
