I'm starting a new game as per subject. Out of habit I'm managing it on Shrapnel (and I'm wondering at the wisdom of this btw). Anyway, if any of you wants to join either post here, there or PM me. |

I wonder about the wisdom too! Seems to me what remnants of the Bailz pledge there have disappeared.

Don't they all behave like Bailz over there? (which of course is a different thing to the Bailz pledge.) "The Bailz Pledge". That has to be one of the funniest concepts ever, given who wrote it.

It's a good pledge. The fact that the author can't be arsed to follow it doesn't change it's validity. Just makes it seem pathetic.

The Baalz good player pledge was basically something you could sign to tell other players that you were committed to playing out the game without going AI at the slightest provokation or leaving without a word or an attempt to find a sub. It gets called the Bailz pledge because baalz has the habit of playing risky strategies and then declaring his position "hopeless" and setting himself to AI if things don't go perfectly. Maerlande quoted it here.
