To keep things running smoothly, we must have a set of rules and regulations to follow. Yes, it's unfair to have rules and regulations, but to keep things fair, it's a must...

1. First of all, if you should decide to join this forum, you have inadvertently agreed to be respectful of Gerry's career, life, family and friends, etc. This means that you have agreed that you will remain respectful as long as you are a member. Posters/Members who show disrespect and/or hate for Gerry will be immediately warned and eventually terminated, if need be. This also pertains to how members speak about Gerry in their posts. Remember that Gerry is a human being, not a piece of meat to be devoured among us...think, if Gerry were in front of me, hearing me say this in front of him, would I be ashamed that I was so bold? That is a great way to think of it. Gerry has feelings too, and we all should respect that. Think, if I were in his position, how would I want to be treated? Again, if you show you cannot be respectful of Gerry's person, physical attributes, private life, career, family, friends, etc, then you will be terminated from this forum board.

2. Second, Gerry's private life is private. Gerry is the professional actor--anyone else, who is not in the public eye, on purpose, who he chooses to be in his life, did not ask to be made public! Information about possible girlfriends, friends, siblings and other family members...unless Gerry brings them up in conversation, will not be discussed on this board! This board is not a place to gossip about how Gerry spent a vacation with so and so and here are the pictures! Is this clear? If he's not up on the movie screen, or standing in front of a microphone and a camera giving an interview, please ask if it is something to be posted here at discovergerry@hotmail.com. Posts with this gossip and/or pictures will either be a.) edited or b.) deleted. A 'pm' will be sent to your message box telling you why either has been accomplished. If the administrators have to keep changing your posts because you refuse to listen to this policy, you are confirming to us that you want to be terminated from this forum board.

3. The main reason why this site was created was to form a group of Gerry supporters. With that said, we are also here to support each other, as well. Cliques that single people out and make others feel left out will not be tolerated on this forum! We ALL share a common goal....to wish Gerry well in his life and his career, so no one should feel left out! If you feel that that cramps your style and you want to be elitest, then this board is not for you. If we, the administrators, feel you are making other people feel left out, bullied or generally unfairly treated we will relieve you of your membership on this forum board. No, we don't expect everyone to like everyone else...that is impossible, but just as we should respect Gerry, we should respect the other members as well. If you are a member here, and you feel this is happening to you, please write to us at discovergerry@hotmail.com. No one should feel less than anyone else, and we, the administrators, will work hard to make each and every member feel special, appreciated and worthy to be a part of the group.

4. Now, on to Fan Encounters. Everyone loves a great fan encounter with Gerry story--right? But we must consider a couple of things before we spill our guts out to everyone on this forum about what happened when we met Gerry. Ok. So, a.) we have to admit, not every person on this forum will ever get the chance to meet Gerry. Yes, that's a sad fact. Gerry is only one man, and he can't be in all places at all times, so, when you're writing about your incredible meeting with Gerry himself, please remember that others wish they could have the same experience as you, and type accordingly. Yes, we understand you want to share your joy and relive all the wonderful moments you shared with Gerry, but please be respectful of the other members of this forum that have never had the chance to meet him. b.) Also, we have to think of Gerry as well. Why? Well, maybe he was having a bad day, or wasn't feeling as well as he usually does. Please do not post a bad experience or less than great experience with Gerry. Why? We're sure that many would say, 'oh, they only want positive things about Gerry, and not show his real side, that's why' No. That is not true. We realize that Gerry is a real human being, with good days, and of course bad days. Days when he feels great and up to meeting new people, and days when he wished people would leave him alone. This year will be a huge year for Gerry, and everyone will most likely bombard him with introductions. Please be respectful of Gerry's feelings. Gerry cannot please all people all the time, and he deserves a little room when it comes to first impressions. Right? Realize that Gerry's job is somewhat stressful, and he does try to be kind and attentive, but be kind as well with your description of your meeting with him. We have to admit, when it comes to positive actor encounters, Gerry is as warm and genuine as we can wish for! We wish you the fan encounter you've been dreaming of with Gerry!
