Hey everyone!

For those who got the message (and those who didn't but lurk) This is a discussion for the reopening of the board. I am open to any and all ideas anyone has for board plot, management and anything else on your mind. Right now it's just me here, but I'm waiting to see who I can enlist to help with the re-opening. Hopefully I'll see some old faces and be able to get some new ones!

Also, tonight at 9pm EST is the premier of The Walking Dead Season 2 (points up to the probably intrusive trailer at the top of the page - I'll be removing it in a few days) I'll be online while the show is on if anyone wants to discuss and what not :P

So let me know what's up, if you're wanting to come back, thinking about it, or not wanting to at all, it'll be great to see everyone!

It’s nice to see Population Undead once more open to the public. Anyway, regarding the board in itself. Plot wise, the ideas that had been implemented shortly before the slump seemed interesting and no one had a chance to play them out, so maybe they should simply stay. Any plot revision should be carefully considered, if old players had already accustomed themselves to the plot, should they now have to acquaint with a new version?

On the management department, adding one or two reliable Staffers would be highly appreciated. As for the Graphics of the board, it might be a good idea to get some new ones or at least make the board slightly different from the previous instalment. Perhaps one of these staffers could be the Graphics designer himself, in charge of Skin Implementation and new Graphics. Although this last part is a dream in itself, it would depend on who’s still willing to lend a hand.

Anyway, the board had promise in the past. Everything ran smoothly, there were no hold ups, people were using a wide scope of its internal RP devices. One thing I’d like to suggest would be to use NPC’s more widely, helping new players in acquainting themselves with the setting, in case they had no PC’s to write with. This would have to be discussed and approved by all though.

EDIT: One more thing to point out. A new C-Box might be a good idea, constantly having to refresh gets tiring after the first few clicks.

I was just thinking about the board the other day. And about how much I missed it.... lol. I haven't been able to find another zombie board since this one, eheh. So excited about this.

Though with school and everything going on right now, I can probably only handle one account right now. I'd probably keep Lucas, and then make Jack a sort of NPC since he's one of the leaders of Camp Tahoe. He'd come around when something big happens, such as a new group of survivors, a surge of Infected in the area- important things like that. That is, if we're still sticking to the same plot and everything.

I agree that we should probably change up the skin a little... Though I'm sorry in advance, I can't be any help with that because I don't know the first thing about graphics and/or coding. eheh. I second the c-box update as well, one that automatically updates when there's a new post.

If I think of anything else to add, I'll edit it in here. But for now... I think that's it. (:

Wow, I'm so happy with the positive response I got from this :D I'm hoping to see more old faces too, you guys are awesome!

I am more than willing to accept help this time around in the management department - I'm not so good at graphics either and I don't have the time or energy to be the sole admin anymore, but I really want to see this board open and active again. I have asked a friend to help with management stuff but have yet to hear back from her, but in the mean time I'm more than happy to let you guys help out and make suggestions and changes to make the board better :D

I agree about the c-box, is the self-refreshing one free? It's been a while since I've looked into that kind of thing.

I also want to keep the current plot, and if anyone wants to tweak it a little I'll think about it. Jess, I was thinking if you don't want to commit to playing him we could make Jack (and Sarah even) cannons, or Cannon NPCs (we can make a new section for those that anyone can powerplay in threads). Like, a group of Canon characters not available to claim or play, but exist in the world (unless the original creators want to take them back, that is). That would kind of address your concern too, John, about NPC characters. We'd have a few ready made ones, just retired characters we used to play. I might actually put Max in that category too, at least for now, I think I want to stick to one or two characters, and I have an idea for a new one I really wanna do o.o

I would totally be down for a skin change, but I'm quite clueless in that area. I like this skin, but a slight change would be nice and make the board fresh and exciting again :D

Hopefully your friend answers back! I can still help out a little if need be too, like look over apps or help out with any questions or something like that. Or just generally whatever is needed at the time. -shrug-

I think making an NPC canon list could be helpful as well. That way people could just powerplay them, like you said. And if need be, we could use their accounts to make in-character announcements or something (if you plan on keeping the accounts. granted, jack's app is a little... outdated, eheh. maybe the account could just be kept.... I don't even know haha.).

I dunno if there's anything else. I think the plot is good how it is- I can't wait for Elko to get more people. I would love to see the big bad Solomon Sharpe around. 8D

Also, I had a couple more thoughts.

I think we could do with deleting all the advertisements (how long would that even take...? haha) since most of them are pretty out of date/closed/etc. n.n That way we can be appealing~ to new advertisers. Or something. lol.

And I was also wondering if we're still doing the whole "canons have secrets" thing. I was just browsing the site and saw that thread. I had completely forgotten about it, so I was just curious. d:

lol that will be a chore, maybe I'll work on that today, going oldest to newest (anything older than about two months can go I bet)

ha! I was thinking about the secrets yesterday, I think they can stay. I already have a secret for Jake ;) I think though, we should allow non-canons to chose their own maybe (but encourage them to let us chose for them to make it more interesting), but they have to let the admins know what it is (to make sure it's a real secret and not just 'my cat's name is mittens' or something hahaha)

ok. but seriously. i missed this place a whole lotta lot. i really am super excited about it.

i'm pretty busy in life right now, but i can pop on and role-play here and there, and BAM make something happen.

BUT ANYWHO. i don't really have much else to add to this discussion? i agree with all the changes that have been proposed. and -cough- my graphic skills are kind of rusty (i've only been doing photo manips lately), but i'd be more than willing to help out with some graphic designs.

and i like the idea of secrets still. that's kind of cool. oliver has a pretty obvious one, but whatever. anywho, yes. i love it.

and....i'd like to see more of the zombie attacks going on. i really, really love that idea so much, it's just insane. <3

I find myself agreeing on the secrets. (: I think I have one for Lucas, too. (It makes sense for him, but I don't think he would be too ashamed about it.... so I might have to rethink it haha.)

Yesterday I worked a little on the zombie attack account (updating pictures and such) so we should be seeing more zombie attacks once this place picks up. 8D


Also, I almost forgot, Zoee, you should reply to this thread when you have the time so we can go ahead and sort you into a group. n.n And if you really want to play around with some graphics, totally feel free. I have no experience at all... I did somehow manage to make this thing, but it's kind of big and a little boring in my opinion, haha. Also, we could maybe use some sidebar images. Something like this (only... matching lol) or more relevant to nevada would be perfect.

I really hope that isn't asking too much. But feel free to pass on any of it if it is. n.n;

anywho, i really like that header. maybe if you made the font bigger it'd work more. i had to hunt for the words...which was fun...BUT WHATEVER I LIKE IT. :)

and anywho, i took three images and put some stuff on them. they're not sized in any specific way, and in no way are they awesome/workable/good/whatever. they're just what i came up with in the last ten minutes or so.

Oooh. I really really like those three images you made there. But I have to say that first one is probably my favorite- I love it. 8D Something like that, I think, would be perfect. It's still all grungy, but it has a little color to it, which could be a nice change. n.n

The current header on the site is 900 x 300. So... as long as the image you come up with is that wide (well, I'm sure it could be a little shorter lol), I think the height could be whatever. The image I posted was 900 x 400. -shrug-

I don't think I have anything else to add... You can probably do pretty much whatever for this. But maybe Melly will have some other input when she gets on again. Either way, I'm so excited for this too. 8D

ooh I love those pics :D Especially the first and third, they seem to fit the tone of the board perfectly. The second one I like a little less just 'cause it's really dark, but it's a good shot :D

yeah I think I'm going to defer to you guys on the graphics side of things, I know very little about making good graphics (beyond what I can do with the photobucket editor o.o) but I know what I like and such :P I trust you guys :)
