"Run!" Lucemon spoke as him and his partner, Kira, were running away from the Barren Wastlelands. "We should have watched were we were going." Lucemon said as he grabbed KIra, and they began to fly up. From behind, the loud words,"Hell's Contract!" sounded, and a large dark blast of energy zoomed right past Kira and Lucemon, barely missing them."Keep running!" Lucemon said as they landed, and kept on running. The Devimon that was chasing them took flight, and began to fly towards them at a faster speed. Both Kira and Lucemon looked back at their persuer, but just as they did, they both slipped and began to roll down a large cliff. They kept on rolling, and the Devimon landed at the cliff's edge." They're gone for good. No need to keep chasing them." He said as he turned around, and began to leave.

Kira and Lucemon were both alive, a little scuffed up, but still alive. They had fallen onto a ledge, and rolled under a little lip, hiding them from anyone's view from above. Lucemon was the first to get to his ffeet. He ran over to Kira, and held him up." Kira! Are you alright?" He asked with a nervous face on him. Kira pushed himself up." Yeah, just a little hurt. I'll be fine." HE said as he reached his feet but fell to his knees holding his ribs." I think I landed on a pile of rocks, but I'll be alright." He said as he tried to get up again, but failed, falling back to his knees." No, here, I'll carry you." Lucemon said as he picked Kira up in his arms, and began to fly away from the little ledge. HE landed far in the canyon between mountians down below.

Lucemon layed Kira against a wall in a small cave that he had found, and began to make a fire." Rest a bit, Kira. You're ddeffinitly huirt. Let me see your ribs." Lucemon said caringly as he walked over to Kira, and lifted up his shirt. WIth Kira's help, they succesfully removed the shirt to reveal most of his right side was covered in a large black and blue bruise. Lucem,on applied a little pressure to it, but Kira backed up a bit holding his teeth clenched." I think you may have bruised them." Lucemon said as he went over to Kira bakpack that he had, and pulled out a cloth. Lucemon began to wrap the cloth around Kira's shoulder and rib cage."YOu stay right here and rest. I'll cook dinner." Lucemon said as he went back over to the backpack, and began to prepare food over the fire. Kira lay on the wall asleep. However, the fire they had going glowed to the entrance of the cave, alerting anyone of their presence, but Lucemon wasn't worried. They were all the way at the foot of the mountains and cliffs. Who would be down here?

[Takashi]

Devimon surveyed the mountainous land once again - he had wanted to simply go back, but his superiors had ordered him to continue his search for the intruders. After all, if it meant they could have one more human and their Digimon partner in their clutches, then they were willing to search every end of the Digital World to find them. Devimon, however, didn't find the use of one lousy tamer and his Digimon - especially because it was he and not his superiors who had to search for them.

He was about to give up; there was nowhere else he felt like searching. That was when a glowing light near the bottom of the mountains caught his attention. Now, just who was that? Could it be his prey hiding carelessly in a cave? Or was it just a group of Digimon who decided to take a rest from whatever journey they were on? Or, just as good as it being his prey, what if it was another tamer and his Digimon? Knowing that if he went back to his superiors empty-handed, he would have to suffer unimaginable consequences, the fallen angel Digimon decided to investigate further, and swooped down to the glowing cave.

And behold! The instant he got to where he could inside the cave, he spotted none other than the boy and angel Digimon who had been his prey to begin with! What a fortunate event this was for him! Not only would he not be going back empty-handed, he would be going back with those he was supposed to bring back.

"So this is where you two weaklings fled off to, eh?!" Devimon's chilling voice resounded off the cave's walls, and was followed closely by a villainous laugh. "And to think I thought I had lost you!"

[Kira]

Lucemon immediatly got infront of Kira."What do you want with us anyways? All we did was go in your land! We're out of it now! You have no right to continue to hunt us!" Lucemon said through clentched teeth, his words like acid. Lucemon, although he was a Child, was still strong enough to beat up Adult Level Digimon. He had done it before, but he had never faced a Devimon before. DemiDevimon, yes, Devimon, no.

Kira layed his hand on Lucemon's shoulder." Lucemon, run. You can get away faster without me." Kira said in a weak voice. Lucemon immediatly shook his head no." No. I could never leave my brother behind." Lucemon said as he kneeled down beside Kira. "I'll never leave you." He said with a careing smile. Kira partially smiled back." Then what can we do?" Kira asked in a worried tone.

Silence filled the cave for a second. The only sound came from the crackaling of the fire. Lucemon was contemplating on what todo. Finally, he gave Kira a caring smile, and stood up." We fight." He said. Kira looked confused." We fight? Can we really fight?" He asked." We have no other choice." Lucemon said s he turned around." Alright, Devimon! You want us, come and get us, but we do it outside." He said as he helped Kira up, and carried him out of the cave, and layed him against the canyon wall.

[Takashi]

Devimon smirked with satisfaction when Lucemon decided that their only option was to fight. It was true, he loved to fight just like any other Digimon, but he had more important things to worry about right now that fighting. It was his sole duty to try and convince this boy and his Digimon to join his side. The fighting would only come if the two didn't agree with what he had to say. He secretly was hoping that they wouldn't agree so that he could wipe their pathetic existence from the Digital World.

"Relax, kid," Devimon, who still stood in front of the cave's entrance, said. "I didn't come here to kill you... I've just come here to offer you something that would greatly benefit you. You just have to hear me out before you decide to fight me." He waited for the two's response. How they answered would determine his next course of actions. He would either kill them at the very spot or further explain his offer.

[Kira]

"You try to attack us, and then you want to talk to us?! I don't think so!" Lucemon said with scorn. Kira had the same thought, but said nothing. Lucemon stood his ground, and never flintched. His undieing fire in his eyes burned more and more the longer he stood, like a huge Redwood Tree that would not be torn from it's roots. He was going to protect Kira. He knew alot about Devimons. None of them liked to play nice. They were all Virus Digimon also, but in the future, Lucemon also knew that he would become one as soon as he became a Perfect Level Digimon. Howeve,r he knewq that that day would hopefully be far off.

[Takashi]

"So I assume that means you don't accept my offer?" Devimon smirked with pleasure. He wanted nothing to do with the two who had disturbed his time of fun, and fighting them to the death would the perfect revenge for him. "If that's the case...then prepare yourself!!!" Appearing to lengthen, Devimon's hands lashed out ferociously at Lucemon, his intention to take out the angel Digimon with one single blow. "Death Claw!!!"

[Kira]

Lucemon stood his ground, and instead, raised his right hand." Divine Feat!" He called and a long sword appeared in his hand. He brought it up just in time that it took most of the blow from Devimon's attack, but it knocked Lucemon back into a wall. Lucemon slumped up against the wall, hurting badly to move. Lucemon tried moving, but found it too much of a pain. That attack wqas more devastating than he thought. After a minute, he finally found the strength to stand up. He spread his arms, and yelled. "Grand Cross!" Then a icture of the solar system appeared infront of him, but all of the planet's were shaped as a cros. The cross lit up, and shot towards Devimon.

[Takashi]

Devimon, a bit surprised at how agile Lucemon was, withdrew his outstretched arm after effectively hitting his opponent. What he didn't expect, however, was an attack of retaliation from the angel Digimon. It was honestly his own fault for being so cocky to believe that his first attack would render his opponent completely incapable of attacking. But, of course, he didn't see it like that.

The cross made of planets hit Devimon head on, and if not for him holding his arms up to his face, he was certain the attack would have done much more damage than it did. Lucemon may have been at Child level with weak magic of light, but even weak magic of light was effective against the forces of darkness like himself.

"Let's see how well you fair against me now!" Flapping his wings once so that he caused a gust of wind, Devimon took off in the sky, floating just feet above his opponent. "Hell Contract's!" As he said the words, a blast of dark energy burst from his body, heading towards Lucemon and Kira.

[Kira]

Lucemon did the only thing he could do. He leaped over to Kira, and covered Kira in his wings and body for protection. Meanwhile, the blast hit Lucemon right on. Kira sat there in shock as he looked at Lucemon." Lucemon....... Please..... Tell me that you are alright." KIra begged." Please, tell me you are alright!" HE said screaming as LUcemon fell onto Kira lap, not dead, just badly hurt, and in need of rest from two consecutive attacks such as those. Kira began to weep over top of Lucemon, holding him tight." Please, Lucemon. Pleaser be alright." HE begged. HE pleaded as his face never stopped streaming with tears.

Kira looked at Devimon with hate in his eyes." Why? Why did you? Are you that heartless? Do you even have a heart?" Kira shot. He was out of ideas, not that he had any from the begining. THere was little he could do at this point. He could only hope for a miracle. Something, anyrthing at this point would do.

[Takashi]

Devimon watched the boy and his Digimon indifferently, already having grown tired of the battle. If Lucemon was that easy to take out, then what fun was that to him? He liked winning more than anything else, but he at least wanted to have somewhat of a challenge when he fought. Someone as easy to beat at this was hardly worth his time. Still, if they refused to join him, then he had no choice but to kill them before they had a chance to become a thorn in the side of his superiors.

"What do you want to do now, boy? Can't you see that your precious Digimon had no chance against me? What makes you think you'll have a chance against my superiors? The only way to keep your Digimon from dying right here is to go with my offer. Your Digimon, however, doesn't want this. But what do you want?"

[Kira]

-Just as Devimon gave that offer, Kira felt Lucemon stir. Lucemon winked at Kira while still laying down. Kira knew what that meant."Who are your surperiors?" Kira asked in a quivery voice, mainly because his ribs really hurt right now, but he was bearing with it. He checked down at Lucemon again from the corner f his eye. Lucemon was getting ready for his last attack, filled with what was left of his current energy.

[Takashi]

Devimon, completely unaware of what the two were planning, smirked when the boy asked the question. If he was truly interested in knowing who his superiors were, then maybe he was considering joining their team? There was only one way to find out, and he would have to make sure he was careful with the words he used. "My masters are of great strength and power. Beelzemon is currently running things. I'm sure he'd be glad to meet with you."

[Kira]

Lucemon gave on last wink in Kira's lap before he jumped up as quickly as he went down,a nd was fast enough tot hrow anything off guard. He used all of his last remaining strength, and yelled, "Divine Feat!" A long sword appeared in Lucemon's hand, which he then attempted to thrust right into Devimon. If it was succsesful, that would definitly harm him a great deal. Even though Lucemon was only a Child, and Devimon was an Adult, it was the power level and the type of attack it was.

[Takashi]

Devimon's eyes widened in disbelief as the holy sword of light pierced through his stomach, completely catching him off guard. Even though Lucemon was merely a Child Digimon, his holy powers of light were of great effect to Devimon. The sword piercing through his body was also of great gravity for him. But that wouldn't be enough to kill him off. Lucemon may be a strong Digimon in his own respects, but Devimon was much more powerful than he let on.

"Enough!" Though the sword pierceing his body had weakened him considerably, Devimon forcibly pulled the sword out of his body and threw Lucemon at his human partner. "You've fooled me once, but it won't happen again! Hell Contract's!!!" Again, Devimon threw a wave of dark energy at his opponents, his resolve now to kill the two without fail.

[Kira]

Lucemon immediatly stood infront of Kira, taking the full blast without remorce. Lucemon stood there, his eyes glassed over, attempting to stay up, but it failed as he fell to his knees." Lucemon!" Kira yelled. He threw himself up with what little strength he had left, and grabbed Lucemon just before her fell forward." Lucemon...." Kira said as h touched his forhead." Come on, Lucemon!" HE said as a tear came down. As he began to cry, his G-Mote on his belt loop began to shine a brilliant silver color.

Kira unattached the D-Mote, and held it in his hand that wasn't holding Lucemon. It shone brighter and brighter, until almost the entire canyon was lit with the brilliant light. Lucemon's eyes opened, and he stood up. "Lucemon!" Kira said in glee as he looked at Lucemon. Lucemon smiled back at Kira. "You did it." He said as he turned his attention to Devimon." You..... It's time for you to leave.... NOW!" Lucemon said as he spread all of his wings, and his cosmical attack began again." Grand Cross!" He yelled as the huge cross shot right towards Devimon.
