The Digital World has long existed as another dimension, running parallel to the Real World. Until the introduction of computers, the Digital World remained completely unknown to humans, and vice-versa. As computer became more sophisticated, the interaction between man and Digimon grew. Communication, however, was soon limited by government officials who deemed the digital creatures too dangerous for the common public. With communication limited, almost all human knowledge of the alternate dimension disappeared, and humans went on with their lives, unaware of a world parallel to theirs.

On the other hand, Digimon were completely aware of this other world, and were very intrigued by this new place. Many continued contact secretly with the humans, though the only humans they could come in contact with were government officials and hackers. Most Digimon were content with the limited contact with humans, others were enraged.

These Digimon, angered by that weak beings were restricting their activities, formed a group to advance contact with the parallel world. The group started off small, opening ports here and there so that they could talk with random humans, and, at times, visit the Real World themselves. This, however, completely changed once the group of Digimon was taken over by seven extremely powerful and evil Digimon that became known as the 7 Demon Lords. When the 7 Demon Lords took over, the group's activities became increasingly menacing, and the Digimon that were a part of the group slowly became more evil. As it grew, the 7 Demon Lord's group began to take over more and more of the Digital World, until almost all of it was in their grasp. Of course Digimon god-like figures attempted to stop them, but only failed at the awesome might and number of this group.

Now, the Digital World is completely in the grasp of the 7 Demon Lords, and darkness stretches out across the land. Most Digimon have taken to using ports to escape to the Real World, but the government's vigilant eye prevents almost all of them from making it to Earth alive. The 7 Demon Lords have also set their sights on Earth, vowing to rule over both the Digital and Real World. Their plans have already begun, and children across Earth have begun disappearing to the Digital World. Once there, they are immediately tempted by agents of the 7 Demon Lords to join the dark side, while agents of good struggle to keep the children on the side of purity.

Meanwhile, a group of extremely powerful, knight-like Digimon rose to the foray to combat these 7 Demon Lords. These knights, known far and wide as the Royal Knights, consist of thirteen members. As of now, though, their activity against the 7 Demon Lords has been minimal, and their methods of dealing with them have been controversial. Not one Digimon is completely good in the minds of the Royal Knights, so beware!
