Reliving the nightmare

".....wak.....wake up" said a voice that seemed to blast into her ear. Stacey woke up with a bit of a start as she looked around not truely seeing things. Her mind was very fuzzy and her stomach was in pain because of the amount of time it had been since they had eaten. "Ohh what happened Gatomon" asked Stacey as she finally seen her little cat partner Gatomon. Gatomon scratched her fur before saying "I don't know we seem to have been taken up in a data storm" she said looking around. They seemed to be quite high up wherever they were because the air was a little crisper and thicker.

"Stacey are you OK you don't look so good" said Gatomon as she went over to see her. Physically she was exhausted from lack of food and she seemed to be very warm, too much for a human. "Stacey you seem to be burning up, it isn't good we need to find some shelter" she said. Stacey was in no mood to argue she wanted to forget all that had happened to the village. "Wait Gatomon where is Mike" she asked.

Gatomon put her down before turning away. Stacey went weakly and put her hand on her digimon saying "where....". Gatomon turned back her saying "Well you see they were taken up in a different data stream than us so....... they could be half way across the digital world by now. Gatomon hated saying this but she knew that it would have hurt her more to have lied. Stacey looked on the edge of tears but Gatomon supported her trying to find some source of water and shelter. Gatomon felt she could digivolve in danger because she had eaten before the battle but she didn't want to do so until emergency.

"You won't get very far in that direction." A voice suddenly thundered from above them. There, circling like a vulture, was the form of a serpentine dragon. It had a metal shell but most of it's body seemed to be made of green sparking energy. It was large, about the length of an Airdramon, but it's body was much thinner, giving the impression that it was longer then it appeared.

"There's a deep gash in the ground over there, and it'd take you hours wot walk around it." The dragon lowered itself so that it hovered over the ground, it's pupiless emerald eyes peering at the human and digimon. "You look like you've had it rough. Why don't you come with me? I know of a safe place where you can rest for a little while."

Despite it's size, it had an air of calm aloofness around it. Though as it's body indicated there was a subtext of energy and predatory viciousness that not even his friendly tone could hide. Thankfully it didn't seem like this digimon was hostile at all.

Gatomon turned around to see what the noise was that had come. Gatomon looked horrified at the green digimon behind her and her partner and gave off a bit of a shocked exprssion. Stacey turned around also and seen the digimon, although this was a bit of a half hearted effort. She was looking but not truly seeing anything. Gatomon turned Stacey around and prepared to defend herself she was not going to let anyone attack her as long as she was still breathing and certainly not from the back.

"Who are you" asked Gatomon "and why are you following us" she demanded. She listened to what he had to say and then said "Well thanks but no thanks were fine" and then turned her nose up at him. It was then that Stacey slipped off her shoulder and even in the two minutes since they had been there Stacey seemed to have gotten worse. [I]Ohh no if this gets worse then Stacey might get even more sick" she though to herself while looking up toward this digimon.

"O....OK" said Gatomon as she looked toward the ground. "Can you help us, it is my partner a human she is sick and I don't want her to get any worse" she said in an almost pleading voice. She then put Stacey down next to her where she wouldn't be up.

[Miashin]

"I'd be glad to help." The dragonic digimon said with a voice of sweet honey. "There is a cave only a small ways back and downhill from here. It's small, I certainly won't be able to fit in, but it should do just fine for you two." The dragon indicated the direction it spoke off but tuning it's head and pointing with the tip of its snout.

By now it's forepaws had come down and held it to the ground while the rest of the body seemed to simply be fluttering on the wind. "It's a bit of a steep walk though. Would you rather I carry you there?" He lowered his head to the ground and beside them, in such a manner so that Gatomon could get Stacey on it and jump on herself if they wanted too.

"Although... it's not polite to demand someone's name without giving yours first. I am Gairyuumon."

Gatomon looked down the cliff to the ground below and then let out a gulp. She might have been a cat but she did not look forward to going over this cliff. She stared back to Stacey and then said "OK then can you give us a lift, I don't want her getting any worse" she said. Stacey seemed to have gone out cold as when Gatomon looked at her eyes. "OK then I am going to take her on, and then I will follow" she said as she bowed to Gairyuumon and then said "I am Gatomon and this is Stacey but she is not well".

She took her onto the green digimon's back being careful not to step on him too hard. She then held on tight before saying "Gairyuumon I hate to be a bother but do you know of any medical places that are human friendly around here".

"Greetings and well met Gatomon, and to your partner as well." Gairyuumon said as the feline digimon brought the human onto his back. With a low growl he released the ground from his foretalons and pushed away into the sky. He floated in the air the way most fish floated in water, the energy of his own body pushing him through the open.

Slowly with great care towards the mountain winds, so that Stacey and Gatomon would not be blown off, he began to descend among the steep slopes. It took only about five minutes to reach the cave opening, and as the dragon digimon had said it was quite small and thus thankfully safe from most larger and more powerful digimon. Since it sat on a near vertical side of the mountain and since the entrance was too small he was forced to put his nose to the entrance and make a bridge out of his body so that the small digimon and human on his back could enter it.

During the descent to the cave he answered Gatomon's question. "Yes I do, but it doesn't look like your girl is in any condition to travel. It'd be safer for her to stay warm and rest in the cave. I could, however, bring them hear to tend to the girl."

Gatomon felt the wind in her ears and under his paws. She looked back down at Stacey and then said "Ohh you have to get well soon". She held her hands as she knelt by her. She flight was kind of relaxing for her and she looked down toward Gairyuumon and then said "You have good speed and a good steady pace, something I am impressed by".

They finally got to the cliff face where Gatomon took Stacey off before looking back and pondering the question. She didn't want too many digimon to know where they were but she seemed to trust the giant green digimon although she did not know much about him. "It would be good if you could bring someone here, I worry about her because she is my closest friend" she said letting out a small tear.

She took her in a little deeper into the cave and sat her down. She found a little running water from the cave wall. It was not very suitable for drinking but from what Gatomon could feel quite cool. She poured it on her head and let it run. She was very warm and it made Gatomon all the angrier. "I promise that we will find your brother and that DATS will pay for this" she muttered.
