The Battle for Sigurd Village

They appeared upon the sands like locusts, a group of three hundred separated by a days march from their brethren group of another three hundred. Appearing in groups of ten to forty at a time they waisted no time arranging themselves. The captains of one group would have their digimon lined and set for march well before the next group arrived half a minute later. Overall it took a whole hour and half for all three hundred digimon to make their way off the networks. Of course jumping through worlds with such a large group was not supportive to accuracy. One didn't want to be in the same spacial location as another digimon when coming into the digital world, an event such as that would simply have been quite nasty. And so Ban-Tyo's army did not arrive directly atop the village but a good hours march away from it. After a half hour of final checks, last rally calls, and end-all orders the army set of on march. Even before they began to move they had kicked up a large cloud of dust, under the trample of over 600 feet created a huge thundering cloud of uplifted dirt marking the armies appearance and movement. Except for the lack of forwarning, a stealthy approach this was not, and the various war cries, roars, and shouts of the digimon in the army certainly wasn't hiding their intentions.

Seeing the approaching cloud, Org wasted no time in handing out orders. For the most part though, it wasn't necessary. Sigurd village was a village of fighters and warriors, once all the young and infirm had been hidden away under the village, in tunnels that had once carried water to the surface but now lay empty under the communities center, the dragon and reptile digimon prepared. Many took to the roofs from which they could rain death down upon enemies with their many and varied long range attacks. Others hid under carts and in doorways, preparing ambushes that would crush unsuspecting opponents.

But most of the digimon sharpened claws and instinct and gathered outside the village forming their own lines to stand against those of the approaching army. Org and his helpers Megadramon and Gigadromon were at the head of this line. Glaring down the approaching storm of an army.

And a frightening spectacle it was. Airdramon filled the skies, eager to clash against their dragon brethren in aerial combat, and on the ground among the Goblimon, Ogermon, Leomon, Tyranomon, and Gizamon, Veemon, Grizzmon, Bearmon, and Veedramon, marched Zeromaru the Veedramon with Taichi perched on his head. It was obvious from the greater variety that most of the stronger digimon were on attack at Sigurd, and that only the lesser fighters had been sent to Rotem. A half hours more march and they'd be upon the village, already Zeromaru could feel the itch under his skin that was the thrumming of the approaching battle and the growing energies that would eventually climax in the familiar surge of digivolution. The building tension showed on the usually stoic Veedramon's face as a manic green a deep glow in his eyes. Taichi for his part felt small and daunted in the size of the army, not really feeling like there was much of anything he could do other then cling to his partners back.

Kataris knew that this was it. He had gotten word on what Ban-Tyo was up to and how bold they were getting. They were now openly challenging everyone, Siguard must have been one of the earliest targets and where else would they strike. He only hoped that they could win this battle. Kataris and Dracomon were looing around to chack the villages fortifacations to make sure that they could not be infiltrated so easly.

He had never been in a bttle this big before and he did not have any clue as to what might happen. If only I had payed more attention in history he thought because this is something like out of world war 2. They were lucky that they village had loads of powerful digimon at its lead, mostly reptile and dragon digimon but there were others.

He was a ready beggining to regret when he had accepted to watch his younger cousin and now he was feeling it. He thought that he might have been safer in the digital world and Org had been more than happy to have her here considering she had been a victim of DATS slimy movements. He wished that she could have been a hundred miles from here by now so that she would have been safer.

He and Dracomon then walked over to Org, he was kind of like heir acting general since he was by far the strongest and biggest. "WarGreymon, do you think that we will be able to win this battle" he said with a little unease in his voice. "Of course we will" said Dracomon as he bounced up and down on the spot. He actually looked excited for a battle.

"Oh stop being so pushy" shouted Stacey from the underground passage hidden from under the village. She had been hidden there when most of the villga ehtta could not fight had been evacuated and then she had hated it even worse when she had not even been asked if she wanted to fight. "Why can't fight, me and Gatomon can, we took care of that creepy lizard that was at my house" she said trying to sound tougher than she actually was.

Gatomon knelt down beside her and she began to feel a little sad with herself. "I want to go home Gatomon, I thought that he would be here got us by now or what if those creeps got him too" she said as she looked around. It was quite dark but there was quite a lot of space. The one thing that they did have in nind when they created it. "I am sure that your brother is fine" she said as she hugged her slightly. Stacey then began to cry a little.

Tomas and Dracomon patrolled the streets. They were walking along when they heard WarGreymon and another less familiar voice. Tomas poked his head round the corner to see who was there.

Dracomon walked out in plain view.

"Heya, WarGreymon... Hey Tom, look at this, there's another Dracomon. This must be Mike's cousin."

Tomas scowled.

"Dracomon, you shouldn't just interrupt. It could be private."

"Yeah and you were just ready to listen. Forgive him, Master Org, he's just nervous about the battle. But... I know we'll kick the Crap out of them."

"Dracomon, be respectful. Don't swear"

"Sorry."

Org looked upon the approaching army with solemn eyes. He heard the humans at his feet quite clearly but didn't respond immediately. The line of enemies had slowed their pace at the very strong line of mostly adult level digimon that suddenly blocked their path to the village. In Sigurd the residents weren't going to run and hide, foolish or not.

"I don't know." he finally answered Kataris' question honestly. Turning his gaze to the two Dracomon by the humans. "You should probably evolve now, who knows if you'll have the chance later." Org raised one of his Dragon Busters to gesture at two different sections of the defensive line. "Kataris, please would you and your partner join the northern forces, and we could use your help further south Tomas."

Kataris gave a small nod and then pulled out his digivice. "Ok little buddy digivolve" he said as Dracomon did just that. "Dracomon digivolve to.......Coredramon" he said as he grew in size and also mass. "We will fight and we will win" he said as he looked at the sky. It was strangely quiet in the village as the drums of war began to pound for not only Kataris and Coredramon but for everyone else too.

Kataris wondered if they would walk out of this in one piece, why did they have to choose this village but better this one than something that could not defend itself he thought. He leapt onto Coredramon who spread his wings and flew away toward the nothern part of the village.

He still did not understand why this had to happen but it was a war that they intended to win.

At the head of the approaching army was the large imposing form of Zeromaru, the Veedramon marched forward a grimace set deep onto his muzzle and Taichi as per usual on his head. All around them was arrayed the army of Ban-Tyo, considerably more threatening than the one that had attacked Rotem village.

The brunt of the enemy forces was made of leomon as well as green and red ogremon. In not as many numbers, but still quite as dangerous, were the blackgrowlmon and centarumon that marched along with the army. The skies above them were filled with the beating wings of airdramon with an occasional blackwargrowlmon hidden in their file and rank.

But eclipsing all these forces was the monster that marched right behind the main bulk of the army. His feet shook the ground as he walked and his head towered high above all his other compatriots. The three cannons on its back swiveled and turned, taking a bead upon Sigurd village. There was little doubt that this one digimon would be Org's opponent, no other digimon present in the defending forces could stand against the Ultimate level power of the cannondramon or even hope to dent it's metallic armor.

Org knew this, and the dragon busters attached to his shielded arms seemed to vibrate in the presence of upcoming battle. As the enemy forces approached a rumbled stirred among the defenders, first a mutter, and then a long drone as the dragon digimon chanted personal mantras to themselves. The closer the enemies came the louder the chants grew until only a few minutes time remained between the two lines. The varied, unique, individual mantras merged into one unified final chant and.

"Lo there do I see my father. Lo there do I see my mother. Lo there do I see my sisters and all my ancestors, the line of my people." the front line of the enemy forces now moved forward, in a run. Leomon and ogremon heading straight for the defending line while Zeromaru along with the blackgrowlmon and centaurmon kept to their steady march.

"They call to me, the bid me join them." Light's gathered at the snouts of the cannondramon's cannons, as the mighty dinosaur digimon lowered its head so that its back mounted weapons would have a clearer shot at the village.

"In the land of Valhalla," The airdramon and blackwargrowlmon shot ahead of the main forces in steep dives that would take them upon the village, leaving a wide gap in their flight paths where through which the cannondramon could fire.

"Where the brave live..." And the defenders rushed forwared to meat the oncoming attack, those that could fly taking to the air, the rest rushing to meat the oncoming leomon and ogremon, Org rocketing skyward and directly towards the Cannondramon's lowered head, and all underneath the same war cry of "FOREVER!"

"This is it Coredramon" he said as he urged him onwards. The armies were about to clash. The war cries could almost be heard for miles and if they could then that might be a good thing because any digimon in the area that was not involved would have the sense to run for cover because this would be ugly and it would get that way fast.

"Ok now we go and we will win or we will be defeated, no retreat" said Coredramon to those under his command. For the first time ever since he left home, he was truly afraid. Kataris looked at the huge digimon that was behind them. It was just then that he took his mind back to the battle, "I'm afraid that Org will have to take on him, none of us have the strength" he said as he looked at his digivice.

He flew faster than he had before and Kataris held on for dear life. Coredramon flew and unleashed a volley of fire at the ground forces closer to him. Coredramon was quite an experienced flyer so it would be easy until he met an Airdramon. They did not exchange words but instead went at it. This was going to be one long battle.

"Let me out of here" shouted Stacey as she heard the battle coming from up stairs. She must have been a good thirty feet underground and still be able to hear the battle. The clashing armies were determined to do it. "Gatomon you have to try and digivolve" she said as she pulled out her digivice.

Gatomon just shook her head. "Your brother and cousin told me to protect you and going into a battle field would be foolish" she said as she sat back down. Suddenly Stacey ran passed the few digimon that were there opened the trap door. "Where are you going" said Gatomon as she jumped to the door. She got the just in time to see it flying open. What is she thinking thought Gatomon to herself because she had never acted like this before and now she was going mad.

She raced through the village that thankfully had not been hit yet but Gatomon looked up in horror because she had never seen a war like this before. She finally caught up to her partner and urged her to get back. “Come on, this is not where we have to be right now” she said trying to pull her back to the trap door. Stacey pulled her however and took a mad dash out of the village away from the war. “I am going to get back to the real world and look after myself, oh Mike how could you do this, you said that you would be back” she said as she started crying once again.

“Well this is fun” said Kai as he and Mike continued their trip through the desert. They had been sent by their new “friends” DATS to get his little sister back and also to see what was going on in the digital world. Mike had been increasingly worried about Ban-Tyo and what they were planning to do. “Yeah hiking through the desert and not even knowing if we will be running into a mon in the dark” said Mike trying to lighten the mood.

Accompying them was Cain and Bayo, a digimon and tamer from DATS. It had not been their first choice to bring them along and this was made worse by Cain’s arm as it was still in some shape. “Hey guys you doing ok because I don’t want to have to carry you” he said as he went back to let them keep up.

OOC: Miashin I take it that before I go again that it will be Kiara’s turn.

"Just fine." Cain muttered through his teeth. Though they had stuck up for the rouge before, his entire attitude during this little "hike" was really starting to grind against Cain's skin. Bayo looked up and grinned. It would be important to keep the peace until they retrieved Stacy and got out of here. It seemed like an easy enough misison and until they literally walked into what seemed like a war.

Airdramon flew through the air, meeting fellow dragon digimon in ariel combat. On the ground, huge clouds of smoke rose from points of attack. Cain looked at Bayo and then at Mike. "If your sister is really in there then we had better hurry." He pulled away from Mike's arm and pulled out his cards. "I don't need your help to walk Mike. Get in there and find your sister. You know the layout better then either of us." He ordered. Cain knew he should not get involved in the fight. This was a digimon effort, not DATS but if BAN-TYO won... He could not think of that, this looked like a strong village, they would resist.

Not looking to see if Kai was going to take action, Cain turned towards Bayo. "It's time." He said as he swiped the a D-3 card through his D-Arc. Bayo's body seemed to be wrapped in his own armor and became an indistinguisable, churning mass. "Commandramon digivolve to...Sealsdramon!" As Bayo shout blended in with the rest of the war in the background, Cain looked to Mike. "Well cover your back, just get in and get out. We have to retrieve your sister."

Bayo looked at Cain and readied his knife. "Kai, I understood that you cared for your sister partner and family, we must leave as soon as possible to protect our partners. This fight, as much as you may want to join it, is not ours." He cautioned, being raised by DATS made Bayo very strict about following the orders set before them. They had a mission to complete and Bayo would see that it was done.

The defensive line was surprisingly strong. Despite being outnumbered, having no defensive fortifications, and not much of any organization, the initial wave of leomon and ogremon broke on them like a wave on rock. The dragon digimon's line didn't fall back, instead it surged forward, gaining multpile feet of ground and rebounding the attack. Sending leading ogremon and leomon to stumble back against their still charging compatriots in desperate attempts to escape the vicious attack.

The impacts of the cannondramon's cannons tearing apart the undefended inner sanctums of the village marked the end of this short lived advantage. The blasts rocked the ground, sending earth, bits houses, and pieces of some unfortunate digimon, flying into the sky to fall across the rest of the town like some morbid plagueish rain.

That was the only attack the ultimate level digimon got off before Org was atop of it. "Dramon Killer!" He roared, bringing his Dramon Slayers, tip first, down straight atop the cannondramon's head. There was a flash of angry sparks as metal impacted upon metal, and ultimately the cannondramon's neck buckled under the force of the blow causing its head to curl down and inward towards its main body. But just as quickly the large digimon regained control of the movement, snapping his neck and head back into the original position, this time only higher with his maw wide open to bite through the wargreymon.

Org dodged the attack easily enough, flying upwards at high speed, the cannondramon's long necked head followed him upwards. Org wasn't fast enough to escape so he did the next best thing, attack. Raising his arms above his head, he summoned up a large energy ball. It wasn't quite as large as it would have been if he weren't being chased by the angry teeth of another ultimate level digimon, but it most certainly would do. "Gaia Force!" he roared throwing the energy ball straight down upon the cannondramon's pursuing head without actually slowing his own ascent.

An explosion rocked the giant digimon's frame, hiding its head in a huge dust cloud. It would take a short while to see what damage, if any, had been done.

In the meantime, his villagers weren't doing so well. Their initial defensive line had been penetrated. Although the first charge had seemed to have been a complete rout, it had all in fact been a trap. When the ogremon and leomon had failed to budge them, the dragon digimon had charged forwared. With this charge they had weakened their position and when the centaurmon and growlmon charged into them they had lacked the structure to oppose the enemy forces. And so the line breeched; ogremon, leomon, growlmon, and centaurmon charged into the deeper ranks of the file, and some breaking through to attack its rear and the village itself.

Kataris and Dracomon, in the meantime found their hands full dealing with two airdramon and a single black wargrowlmon. The three digimon kept their distance, circling and firing short range attacks at the trapped dracomon. Until, at least, Gigadramon intervened. His large, three fingered hand slammed down on the wargrowlmon from above. Both digimon fell from the sky, the wargrowlmon pinned underneath the limb of the large digimon. They crashed into the ground and there, with no chance of escape, "Genocide Gear!", he fired from the palm of his metal hand.

This deleted the wargrowlmon, but it left Kataris and Dracomon to deal with the remaining two airdramon as three more wargrowlmon descended to occupy Gigadramon's attention.

Within the actual confines of the village, a contingent of four centaurmon that had broken through the lines were raising havoc along the streets. They'd yet to meat a defending digimon that could stand up the their attacks for long. And then they turned a corner of a street and espied a single young human girl. With a shout to his comrades and a holler of malicious pleasure, the lead centaurmon led his group charging straight for Stacey, none of the digimon espying the small Gatomon in their eagerness to strike at human flesh.

Coredramon was going to have a handful with this one. He thanked Gigadramon with all his heart and he now felt like after that they had to win against the two Airdramon. If they attacked directly then they would most surely fail so they would have to get a little more ingenious. He took a little second to look at Org. He was taking on the bulk of the forces taking on annondramon, a digimon that big could only be handled with one of equal power and he knew that despite his pleasent nature and even his rumoured kindness that he could win.

Coredramon did not fly after the Airdramon instead they flew toward the town. The Airdramon followed as they had hoped they would. Coredramon flew in and out of buildings and through various fights that were brutal to watch. "OK Coredramon, this is the time" said Kataris, he could barely hear himself but Coredramon could perfectly. He rounded a corner and let the twin digimon smack into the side of one of the buildings.

The building started to crumble but held up with the same pride that Kataris was determined would lead the village to victory. Coredramon flew around and launched a charged breath attack at the two of them. When the attack impacted they were deleted and now gone. Kataris always hated doing this but he was now above all that. "That was good, we are not going to lose this war" said Coredramon in a show of pride.

It was when they flew up that Coredramon layed eyes on Gatomon chasing someone. "Is tat not your cousin, the loud girl, is that not her digimon" he asked. Kataris felf really sweaty despite the large draft coming from the extended flight. Kataris looked and seen Stacey also and almost fell from Coredramon's back. He caught him just in time but he had gone almost pale. "Coredramon look, dive" he said and within those three words he went into a frenzied dive, knocking over three centarumon in the process. It was easier for them to fly at speed with their knowlege of the layout of the buildings.

He then noticed that there were more Centarumon Hurrying for them. Coredramon glided at speed that made Kataris' eyes water and his breath harder but he was determined that he would not break his promise. There was a gathering of clouds that seemed to be swooping in from where they were headed and the strange thing was that they did not seem to notice that it was only coming from one direction.

Coredramon landed in front of The entarumon and They landed with a halt. "Ok then so you like to pick on little girls, Ciredramon tale care of these guys" said Kataris as he felt in his pocket. Kataris's creat had reacted to his amotions and the symbol had began to react on his digivice. Coredramon could feel a little more power coming onto him like never before. "So this is what the crest is like" he said. "Coredramon please use this power to help you win" he said as Coredramon launched a powered up attack toward the Centarumon.

Stacey wondered the village toward the very edge, the end without the war coming through but that was increasing in difficlty. She felt so confused and betrayed. Like all the people in the world that cared for her except for Gatomon had left her. "Why did this have to happen, just days ago Mum and Dad were with me and then they went because of those evil DATS people and then Mike left and he said he would be back" he said.

She continued running as she thought of her hated for Kataris boiling. "Why did he bring me here if he knew that there was a war going on here" she said as she seen him fighting but did nothing. Gatomon was having no luck catching her because she had to avoid flying digimon and she was by no accounts strong enough to digivolve herself yet without Stacey helping her and she was in no shape.

Mike raced into the village and fast . He did not have any idea how long he was going to take to look for his little sister but he would not wait to see. He seen perhaps fifty digimon in the city already but he did not slow down. He looked up and down the village but seen nothing. He thought that it might be easy to spot a Gatomon as it would stick out in a dragon digimon village or a Blue Coredramon or Dracomon as they were still pretty rare a breed in the digital world.

"Listen" said Kai as he turned around to look straight into the eyes if the now digivolved digimon. Hate boiled through him like nothing else. "Listen, I don't take orders from you and if I was wanting to get involved in this fight then believe me it would take more than you to stop me" he said. Suddenly he looked at Cain's arm and asked him a question that he had been waitting to ask him before he had his second run in with Zmaj. "Hey what happened to your arm" he said.

Mike felt like he was running a marathon as he twisted and curved but there she was, his little sister. "Stacey" he shouted but his cry was blocked out by the war cry of digimon locked in combat. He seen the three Centarumon and also Coredramon, he looked as if he was holding his own and that he might have a chance, all because of Kataris' crest. Mike smiled for a second. So he learned to harness the secret after all. He then went to try to get past them to his sister. He did not want to distract his cousin from the fight.

Bayo rushed after Mike, trying to negate most of the wild shots. Since Kai had not digivolved he used his own speed to ward off the stray nova blasts and the like. He blurred back by Kai and Cain's side in time to hear Kai's comment. What an stubborn little fool, he had no idea what was going on.

Disgusted Bayo turned to him, "Look around you, this is war. It is not just some fight like usual, this is all out survival of the fittest. I have been rushing around to stop YOUR partner from getting shot in the back. If you want to follow your own ideas be my guest but I'm trying to keep us alive long enough to get Stacy and get out. Do what you want to." Bayo spat before blurring again to deflect a centarumon's attack.

Cain continued to run to keep sight of Mike and attempt to dodge the rumble created by the fight. He knew his body should be protesting right now but somehow he had such a rush he could not acknowledge the pain. "Don't worry about Bayo, he trusts you to do what you think is right, but he never has liked this kind of blantant destruction. As for my arm, I got shot after our fight by Torage." Cain did not take the time to explain who Torage was or why they were fighting because of a large incoming Fist of the Beast King. He did not have time to move before it was upon him.

At the last moment, Bayo rushed in and grabbed Cain and Kai and pushed them out of the way. He pulled them to their feet and pushed them back into a run before catching up with Mike to knock incoming debries out of the way. It was at that moment that Cain finally got a scope of the front line. There were digimon upon digimon fight, clawing, biting,...disappearing. What gave anyone the right to do this. How could it be allowed. For the first time since he found Bayo, Cain felt his stomach retch in disgust and disappointment.

All the doubts he had been feeling on why he was in DATS, why he helped Bayo fight, why he even bothered to get involved shattered. In the face of distruction, he had to stand strong. He had forgotten that during his training. He could not stand to let other hurt his digimon, but it was even worse when other believed that they could make things better for themselves through war. This had to stop, now.

Org looked down upon the smoke that his attack had summoned. The body of the Cannondramon shook and wavered from side to side, as if about to collapse, causing the WarGreymon to breath a sigh of relief. In the next instant, a flash of a second, the head of Cannondramon was bursting from the smoke and towards him.

The helmet armor of the Ultimate digimon was cracked, but Org's attack hadn't done any fatal damage. The giant digimon teeth closed on the Sigurd leader almost crushing him. Only his quick battle instincts saved the WarGreymon. Org was trapped, his arms holding up the Cannondramon's upper jaw, while his feet shoved against its lower jaw. He was a wedge, struggling under the great bite force of his enemy not to be torn to pieces.

Org gave a roar as he pushed against his enemies attack, he couldn't escape. Any bit of slack in his pressure would result in the teeth coming down on him. The Cannondramon shieked along with his roar, with an enemy stuck in its head, it knew only its great bite force and constant pressure were stopping the WarGreymon from taking the chance to embed his Dramon Slayers right through the roof of its mouth and into its brain.

The giant ultimate digimon thrashed its head about, trying to dislodge Org's grip enough to allow its jaws to close in on him. When it became obvious that the WarGreyomon wouldn't be budge, it took a different approach. It's thrashing head stopped right in-front of the muzzle of its chest mounted cannon, tilted so as to present it's enemies side to the weapon.

Org saw the nuzzle, saw the gathering light of the Cannondramon's attack, new that he only would have a seconds chance to escape. When the Cannondramon released him to bring its own head out of the range of the attack, that would be his one shot. It would only retreat at the last instant he knew, his chances were slim.

He felt the pulse of energy as the attack was released, felt the jaws release their pressure on his limbs. His back was towards the ground, his propulsion couldn't lift him fast enough against gravity to escape once his body was released. He had no chance at all.

"Grenade Storm!" the giant beam of energy blew out from the chest mounted cannon, swallowing Org in its depths, and cutting a destructive path through both forces and the village. Where the beam passed nothing was able to hold up, not digimon, not village building, nothing but a long line of charred craterous ground. And even as the energy beam scorched along its path, thousands of munitions erupted from the Cannondramon's back to impact all across the village and its defending forces.

Those of the defending digimon that had seen their leader be swallowed in the deadly attack gave out a great cry of dismay. But most of them were too engaged with their own opponents to even notice. Megadramon did, and his roar echoed over the battlefield as he flew, charging through any opposition, towards Cannondramon.

At the edge of the village, in a corner that the enemy forces had fully claimed after completely obliterating the defending line and splitting the defensive group in two, was Zerumaru. Right now he was directing the forces that were streaming through this gap left and right. With this foothold they could go through the village and attack the remaining defensive lines from behind.

Taichi, still sitting atop his digimon's head, could not help but stare at the ground they stood in. The gap in the defensive line had been created from Cannondramon's blast, and Zeromaru now stood in a half-pipe crater, charred ground black and cracked beneath his feet.

"Lord Zeromaru!" The call drew both the human's and his digimon's attention. A Centarumon was cantering out of the deeper areas of the village towards them, along the edge of the crater.

"What!?" Zeromaru wasn't one for raising his voice, but it was a necessity in the current situation just to be heard. The Centarumon jumped from the edge and slide into the crater to stand at attention before the Veedramon that now turned fully to face him.

"M-my division, sir. Whiped out by a single digimon. Coredramon, blue. Human's in the village!" The report was swift and to the point. A revelation indeed, for Coredramon had deleted three Cantarumon and yet four had been charging. The fourth had obviously escaped.

The news of humans was troubling. This was the kind of situation Zeromaru was among the forces to deal with. None these digimon were equipped to deal with digimon that had tamers, and were thus naturally more powerful then regular digimon.

"You!" Zeromaru called out to, and gestured for an IceLeomon to approach. A true Perfect level cleverly disguised among his champion level troups. "You're in charge here!" The Veedramon told to this lion digimon once the Perfect level had taken his position, and nodded towards the Centarumon. "Lead the way!"

The Centarumon saluted, and turned galloping out of the crater and, back into the village towards the area where they had encountered Kataris and Coredramon, with Zeromaru hot on his tail. Taichi, going mostly ignored, sat eagerly on his partner, expectation boiling in his blood at the chance to finally take some vengeance out against his human race.

Kataris looked at the catastrophe that had just occurred. Coredramon had just finished the Third of the Centarumon with the fifth having disappeared. They just noticed the blast that caused the explosion, he now paniced because he did not see Org, where was he, knocked out or….no Kataris did not think about it. He had to be ok, he had to be. Suddenly his crest got a little stronger, It seemed to be reacting to his emotions.

“Coredramon come on we have to see what happened to our friend” he said as he looked around before getting on Coredramon but he was not going to be flying to quickly. It was then that Kataris and Dracomon seen the shadowed forms of Taichi and Zeromaru. “Wait Coredramon that is human” he said as he looked a little relieved but as soon as he did Coredramon let out a growl like nothing he had heard.

“Hey buddy” he said as Coredramon shook violently. He seemed to be looking at Zeromaru and bursting to attack him. “What is wrong buddy” he said as he tried to calm him down. “That is Zeromaru, he is suppose to be the legendary successor of Ban-Tyo but he lost is favour but he is a traitor to all dragon digimon” he said as he roared again. “I see then that would make him Taichi” said Kataris as he took got angry.

“What do you want here” he said as he and a very angry Coredramon looked at them.


“I am getting out of here” said Stacey as she was now at the outside of the village. She did not have any clue where she was going and she was probably going to get hurt but she was in too much of a panic to see anything except that.

“Please stop” shouted Gatomon, she was a little more behind as she was still in the village trying to avoid the hussle and bussle of what was happening.


Kai rushed into the village after his partner. He dodged and weaved his way through the crowds, this was made easier by the “tunnel”. “No WarGreymon can’t be gone” said Kai as he raced through a Leomon fighting with a digimon from the village. “He just can’t be, I won’t let it happen” he said. Now that Org was gone there was nobody that could stand up to Cannondramon.

Mike looked between both Coredramon and Kataris and Zeromaru and Taichi. He wanted to hep him after he heard what he had said. He did not like the fact that he did not have his partner. Meanwhile Agumon was getting closer. He had almost been hit twice but he had avoided it with athletisism that ill befitted his body shape. Finally he managed to catch up to Mike. “Hey did you miss me” he said as he got to his partners side. He was also worried about Bayo and Cain but he did not worry too much as DATS agents he knew that they could take care of themselves.

Kataris finally noticed them, he just hoped that Taichi did not. “Ok then you have to digivolve before this turns ugly” he said as he helped him. “Agumon digivolve to…..Greymon” he said as he turned to Coredramon and went side by side to him. Meanwhile Mike went after his sister again, she was still quite a ways away.

Bayo and Cain met up after the explosion. They had glimpsed just enough to realize that the village's leader had been destroyed. It hit home like a sledge hammer. BAN-TYO was much more powerful then either of them could ever have imagined. Mike had disappeared, as did Kai.

Cain looked up at Bayo, "We can not stay out of this, you know." Cain muttered. He held up his D-Power and searched Bayo's body for any sign an opinion. Bayo merely looked Cain up and down as if trying to decide wether his partner was up to it. Another stray attack headed their way as Cain ducked quickly out of the way while Bayo jumped over it.

"I know, can you handle it, though?" Bayo asked quietly. He kicked up a piece of rubble and to block a disappaiting Nova Blast. He looked back to see Cain staring at his Digivice. Cain's hand reached down into his pocket holder and pulled out his cards. "I don't know yet, but we'll find out soon." Cain said quietly, "We need to get to the front line now, where you can do some real damage."

Bayo nodded, picked up his partner and rushed for the front line. The speed took Cain's breath away, and all too soon they were on the front line. It was a terrible roiling mess. Bayo found a clearing while Cain pulled out a special card. He pulled the card across his D-Power and added his voice to the battle around him as a warning to the good digimon around him. "Metaltyrannamon, digivolution activate!"

Bayo screamed as his body changed, gaining the power of a true Perfect level digimon. "Tankdramon!" He roared to the heavens. Cain quickly climbed onto his partner and and looked out into the battle. "You know what to do." Cain said as he held onto Bayo. Bayo grinned and charged into the fight, all guns flaring.

The Cannondramon looked with satisfaction upon the path of destruction it had cut. There was the half-pipe crater of course, but his other countless munitions had also left and indisputable mark upon the village. Countless buildings were nothing more then slag and rubble, and in a few places the heat had been great enough to set the very stone of the structures on fire. The heat had faded just as fast, but the red glow of the burnt rocks was an ominous to the invading forces power.

A groan drew its gaze downward, there spread eagle before the giant digimon lay Org. Armor cracked and blackened, the mane of his helmet completely burnt off, and there wasn't much worth mentioning of his hide either. When he'd realized that it was impossible to fly from the attack, Org had left it to his weight and gravity to move him out of the path of the worst of it.

Snorting at the fallen digimon before it, the Cannondramon lifted a single large foreleg. A step and squish would be a good and proper end to this enemy. The foot began its deadly descent when Megadramon finally made it through the clouds of flying enemy forces. "Ultimate Slicer!" Roared out the Perfect level, not caring a whit about the difference in levels between him and the Cannondramon. Desperation drove his attack and maybe that was why it managed to cut do deep despite that very difference.

Org knew he had to get up, struggled against his injured body to regain his feet, while the foreleg that had been about to crush him slammed aside of its target. With an angry screech the Cannondramong brought its teeth upon Megadramon. The dragon digimon got off a final Genocide Attack, the munitions arcing around the Ultimate's head to strike at its eyes even as giant teeth closed on him. Megadramon didn't have Org's strength, the bite proved deadly to him though he'd done his fair share of damage.

Letting the dissolving Perfect drop out of its mouth, Cannondramon shook its head, bloody injuries all that could be seen where the Genocide Attack had impacted with its eyes. Megadramon had accomplished his mission, he'd bought Org time to regain his feet, and also critically injured his opponent in the process. Cannondramon knew this, knew that there was an enemy at its feet that HAD to be destroyed.

"WAR DRIVER!" Org's voice ran like the knelling of a gong, and with it a slicing blast of energy from his Dramon Slayers arched into the sky. Right in the path of the blast was the long thrashing neck of the Cannondramon. When the light faded, Org wobbled heavily in the air above the other Ultimate digimon who'd now fallen ominously silent.

Then, with grating slow motion, the giant neck and head separated from the rest of its body at the point where the light of Org's attack had passed. With a crash it fell to the ground, the rest of the Cannondramon's body stood, so perfectly balanced that even without a head it refused to fall, until the leg which Megadramon had injured gave under the dead weight. The collapse of the main form raised a dust cloud and a thunderous boom that rang through the ground.

And didn't stop, even when the Cannondramon's body began to fade to digital particles.

At the edge of the battlefield, the fighting had stalled just for a second to watch Cannondramon fall, and then resumed with renewed viciousness. The IceLeomon looked impassively from his position at the fallen digimon, and then focused his eyes on the horizon. His mouth opened in a shocked gasp, but before he could make a call of alarm he found himself assaulted by a hail of bullets. "Cold Air Attack!" he cried out, freezing the most dangerous of the bullets and stopping them from striking him as the air around his figure froze them solid and dropped them from their flights.

Within the village Zeromaru was about to answer the Coredramon when he found himself distracted. His head whipped around to face the way he'd come, the thunder of Cannondramon's fall echoing in his legs. With a snort he was about to turn back to his own fight when he realized that the thrumming hadn't ceased in his legs.

All battles were forced to a momentary halt as realization dawned on the invading forces. The thrumming in their legs was not from the defeated Ultimate, and soon enough all focused on what IceLeomon had already seen. A thunderous roar rocked over the battlefield, along with the earthquake steps of a running Fanglongmon, his mountainous form appearing over the horizon.

Still far enough away that he was visible by both villages and it was as yet impossible to tell to who's aid he would come. Not that it mattered, he was well within his attack range already and the Ban-Tyo digimon knew this.

A cry of victory went up from the defending forces. With the appearance of the sovereign and the fall of Cannondramon they were reavitalized with hope and rushed forward in a new offensive. Back within the village Zeromaru snorted as Taichi atop his head cheered along with the defending forces. "Game, set, and match." He spoke, giving a crooked victorious grin to the Coredramon. "THAT'S," he pointed at the ominous form of Fanglongmon, "why we are here."
