Hightown View Terrace Hightown View Terrace is an apartment building in Tokyo. Here, the barriers between the real world and the DigiWorld are weak, and a gate can be opened between the dimensions. It is here that the first true gate to the digital world ever opened.

Kyoto As one of Japan's most famous cities, legends surrounding Kyoto say that it is very close to the spirit world. In the past, it was selected as the capital because the four elemental Gods were in harmony surrounding the city – the defence of mountains in the north (representing Genbu, the turtle god), the convenience of a river to the east (representing Seiryuu, the dragon god) and a lake to the south (representing Suzaku, the phoenix god), and roads to the west (representing Byakko, the tiger god). It was believed that Kyoto was at a crossroads of sorts, where Earth, the spirit world, and other realms met. Many temples were built in Kyoto to prevent creatures from these other realms entering our world – but legends say that on Halloween, ghostly figures can be seen roaming the city’s streets. These legends seem to hold some truth as it is impossible to open a gate between this area and the Digital World except on Halloween.
