The slick and oily light of morning slid through the battered window of a one room apartment, falling across the lumpy form a of slumbering person. A mop of messy and sticking up black hair peaked out from under the dingy blank, the white tips framing a tired and sleepy looking face. Eyelids fluttered in dream as the boy slept away the morning after a long night of doing dishes.
On the floor were various clothes strewn about, one which was moving. An eerily spidery leg peaked out from under the the shirt before being followed by a bug like creature. It scurried across the messily strewn ground with determination set in its slit like red eyes. Easily it scurried up the blanket hanging off the bed and onto the boy, its stinger like tail twitching.
One would think, just by appearance that it was preparing to harm or maim the boy but as it moved onto the boy's shoulder it carefully leaned down and nuzzled its face against his, purring lowly in his ear.
The silky soft hide and the quiet noise was enough and the boy's eyes opened, his body slowly coming to full awareness. "Hey..."he murmured softly, a gentle hand coming around to stroke the collared creature,"Morning Darshan... You hungry?"
Another soft murmur and Darshan quickly scuttled down off his tamer, watching as the boy sat up and stretched, yawning widely.
Darshan had watched this boy for many months now and had come to some sort of unspoken agreement with him. Kinsei, as he usaully went, cared for him and he in turn protected Kinsei. It was a comfortable cycle and a difficult one to become sidetracked from.
The only disturbance of this daily routine was Sonji, Kinsei's other protector. The other personality was ruthless and vicious and the Arkadimon had decided the he was simply an unorthodox and unofficial guardian.
He continued to watch with silent bemusement, vaguely knowing that already Kinsei and Sonji's conversations had started up.
'It's staring at you again...'
The voice was annoyed and tired in Kinsei's mind, echoing from the darkest part of the boy's concious. The boy's lips twisted a bit before he finally answered.
'He's always staring, Sonji. Get over it...'
A snort echoed for a reply and Kinsei felt a niggling feeling of aggrivation from "Sonji." It didn't surprise the more innocent of the pair. Kinsei's other personality hadn't been happy with the odd creature since the day it arrived. Said something about it was dangerous and monsterous and that it needed to be put down.
He blocked out Sonji's rageful rant and scratched his side as he bent down to the minifridge and pulled out left overs from last night. He carried the boxes of rice and shrimp over to Darshan with silent resignation, making sure to grab the usual bowl he always used on the way by.
Lightly, he began to shove the food out into the dish befor pulling away and starting to finish the rest off with chopsticks. He watched as the little creature scuttled over and snuffled at the food. Hungrily Darshan began to devour the shrimp and rice, manners never having been high on his priority list.
Instead he concentrated more on watching and protecting Kinsei, somehow the idea programmed deep with in his brain. It didn't look like it would ever move from there either as he finished the food with a lick of his lips.
His red eyes went back to watching Kinsei who delicately picked out each piece of shrimp he could find. The Arkadimon always thought it was odd how much of a picky eater his tamer could be but never said anything about it. Really, he never said anything at all, speech being a waste of energy and time.
So lost in his thought he hardly noticed when Kinsei dumped the last of the rice into his bowl until the tamer stood and started going about his morning routine, starting at relieving his tiny human bladder and ending at getting his coat on and slipping the digimon into it.
Keeping himself busy, Darshan started in on the rice and finished by the time Kinsei was brushing out his wet hair and pulling on his coat.
"Com'on, Darshan,"he said, with a smile,"I don't want to leave you here all by yourself." Gently he scooped up his... well.. he supposed he could say "pet" and slid him gently under his coat. Moving to the door, he stopped to grab the odd like device his "pet" originally came out of, slipping it into his pants pocket.
Quickly he moved through the already busling kitchen and out the side door, heading out to town.
'Where are we going again?'
Sonji's lazy voice broke into Kinsei quiet mind like a rock through a window and the boy gave a slight annoyed noise.
'Well, for starters, a few easy to make meals would be nice to feed to Darshan... Not only that but I know DATs had other creatures like him in there. I saw them... We need information...'
'And where do you plan on getting it?'
Kinsei hesitated in answering. He didn't really know where he was going to get this information. Afterall it would be suicide to just walk up to DATs to look for it...
'I'm hoping that the information will eventually come to me...'
All he recieved was another snort.

"I believe we need to talk."
Kinsei paused in his steps and looked up at the new comer only to have fear flood him. A gun was pointed at him and there was a DATs bagde in his face. A feeling of vertigo suddenly swept over him and he was sure he was fixing to fall flat on his face. Sonji's voice echoed in his head.
'Run!!!'
He didn't stop to answer the man nor did he answer his other personality. No question about digimon was raised. All he knew was that DATs had caught up to him and he wasn't going to stand by and get caught.
He whipped around and bolted, a slick, sick, and painful knot welling in his stomach. Under his coat he could hear Darshan hissing and growling, feel him shifting and crawling until he was on his chest and able to peak around at their attacker. Slitted red eyes watched with growing anger and ferocity and the scorpion daggered tail twitched with anticipation, the young digimon already positive that this would end in battle.
His eyes traveled back up to his owner's face and could see it in his eyes that two forces were clashing, good and evil, sun and moon, both vying for control over one body, one sky, one continent.
The arguement echoed, bounced and roared off Kinsei's mind and the clashing of dark and light claws was frightening as he fought off Sonji's hold.
'Idiot, we're going to have to fight using Darshan!'
A dark tendril struck, penning down a beast of light.
'We can't! Darshan's just a baby. I can tell! We'll lose!'
The beast roared and broke free, slashing a gash into the black monster.
'Not if you just give me control!'
The wound healed instantly and the monster charged the beast, the pair merging into a flow of black and white. They swirled together viciously, pulling, pushing, biting, clawing.
'No!'
It was too late. The dark monster exploded and so did the white across Kinsei's hair. Black turned to white and slowly, a cool gleam came to the now snow white eyes. At the corner Sonji twirled on his heal, white eyes glaring and black tips fluttering in the sudden wind.
"You want to fight us then com'on."
His voice was sharp and smirk could be heard in it. On his chest Darshan looked back at the tamer, examining every inch and coming to conclusion after conclusion. He was hasty, impatient, disobidient. That could be his down fall...

Darshan was falling now and despite all the impassiveness in the world, he was still growing terrified of the inevitable fall and splat on concrete. He jammed his eyes closed, waiting, waiting.
It never came and in fact he was caught in gentle arms. His red eyes opened and he stared up at black eyes and black hair. Kinsei had returned, Sonji relinquishing his hold on the body as soon as their attacker fled. The baby digimon gave a purr before absorbing the energy he'd gotten off the fanbeemon, using it to further power himself up. If he'd gotten just a bit more he was sure he'd been able to digivolve...
His thoughts were cut off as Kinsei shot, breaking into a frenzied run to escape the area. Fear generated the young man now as he fled the scene, dashing through shocked spectators in a hurried and frightened attempt at getting away from the area.
'Thanks to your little friend we'll have to move again...'
'I know... I've been saving up money from washing dishes and we have enough to rent a hotel room...'
'For how long though, you twit? How long will those savings last while you're trying to feed yourself and this little monster who eats a thousand times his weight?'
A flinch briefly danced across Kinsei's face as he slowed to a walk. He was now a good three or four blocks from the site and was closer to his destination.
In his arms, he felt Darshan shift back into his coat, escaping the cold air and a sick feeling came to his stomach. Sonji was right. The money wouldn't last more than a week if he kept having to buy more groceries to feed Darshan... And what happens if the little guy decided to have a growth spurt? How was he to hide him then?

Kinsei heard her voice and felt his heart sink. He hated talking to her. She tended to send dougnut flying all over him...
Slowly he pushed himself off the creaky bed, shuffling tiredly across the scratchy carpet. He stopped, half way, however, spying Darshan's tense stance and hearing a low rumbling growl. Instantly becoming nervous, he paused to pick up a thick phone book before continuing to the door.
'Oh yes, Kinsei.'
Sonji's voice cut in, full of sarcasm.
'A phone book will be really useful if there's a knife or gun.'
There was a picture of Sonji rolling his white eyes and Kinsei began to fidget with the book. He knew that it would be no help but it had at least eased his anxiety towards the situation.
'Shut up...'
The command was given just as he creaked the door open to look at her. "Yes ma'am?"he asked politely, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end. Darshan had climbed up his shirt and was breathing on the skin there.
His black eyes looked about her face before drifting over and falling on someone. A guest. Instantly Kinsei's face paled and the bottom of his stomach dropped out. Slowly he pulled the door back just enough to get enough momentum to slam it hard in the pair's face.
His fingers began to fumble awkwardly at the lock quickly, managing to get the ratty thing done up before turning and running from it. His form stopped in the center of the room and he quickly began to look for an escape, heart pounding and tears filling his eyes.
He didn't want to go back to DATs. He'd already been there and done that and didn't plan on doing it again.

Kinsei had turned and blocked his face as the splinters barelled towards Darshan. They hit his arms and hands, scuffing them up and knicking gashes into them. He slowly lowered them and looked at Taiki with fearful black eyes, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
This was it. He was going to die at the hands of some psycho?
"Why are you trying to kill me?"he stammered, backing up slowly. Darshan crawled over his shoulder and glared, growling lowly at the crazed tamer, stinger ready. His own tamer had hit a wall and was there trembling, his second personality barely registering through the fear.
'Idiot! Its fight or flight and you can't do flight. Get fighting! Stop freezing up like a coward!'
Sonji suddenly shoved his way into control and snarled at man. "Back off, ass wipe,"he hissed, white hair bristling and white eyes dangerous. Unlike Kinsei, Sonji would fight any way that presented itself, whether that included clawing of the eyes or kicking of the groin. He was a survivor not a pacifier.

Sonji tensed ready to bound out of the way, white eyes narrowed and growl rumbling from his chest. He wasn't gonna die to this guy and smirked cruelly, standing to move-
Only he never had to.
A familar scorpion tail shot out and deflected the weapon, sending it crashing away. Darshan snarled, mouth opening wide to show off sharp, deadly looking teeth. While the personality in control wasn't his tamer it was still his tamer's body and he wouldn't lose what was Kinsei's.
It impressed Sonji, however, and he stood, grinning. "I admit, I still hate you, rat face, but you're useful,"he said with a snicker before charging at Taiki. He planned to ram right into this bastard.
((I'm sorry if my post constituted as G-moding. ><))
