-----Okay, so this is a Devil May Cry based ficlet I wrote for fun. It'll probably grow from what it is now bit not sure so keep an eye out for updates.-----
Dante looked at the pair skeptically from across the street unsure he should believe what he was seeing. A young girl with long burgundy almost dark purple hair and brilliant silver eyes was walking along carrying a few shopping bags. She wore a simple outfit colored in black and a dark grey while chatting amiably with the person walking maybe a step behind her. The man behind her carrying the rest of the bags and nodding to her words or giving simple answers when neccessary was what had caught his attention. Short silvery hair and ice blue eyes were so familiar except the style. His hair was down but his bangs tucked back behind his ears to keep them out of his face. A neat buttoned up dark blue shirt and jeans he was acting totally at ease with all the humans around. "Verg?" He muttered then shook his head skeptically deciding despite the uncanny if not downright frightening resemblence that the man couldn't be his elder twin. So with a sigh and plans to return to the shop where there was plenty of alchohol to ease his mind he was gone. ~*~*~*~ "Did you hear something?" The silver haired man asked turning a bit to glance at where dante had stood moments before. "No Raz. Why something the matter?" The young girl asked looking at the taller man curiously. He shook his head a bit passing it off as his mind playing tricks on him. "No it was nothing Mika." He replied after a short silence had fallen on the pair. She nodded at this flashing only a momentary worried glance in his direction. "Alright well let's go home. I'll make something really good today and we can make tea. It's getting cold after all." Mika said starting to walk again her boots making a soft pit pat sound on the concrete. "Of course. Some of it will thaw beyond the point of use if we don't hurry." He added following after her again. "Don't worry Raziel you'll remember someday. Either way your welcome to stay with me as long as you want." Mika stated after a moment. Raziel smiled slightly and took a small bow, she only used the full name when she was serious. Though it made him think about his current situation. His name was Raziel Tagaki. Or at least that was the name he remembered. Mika had found him several months ago unconcious. When he'd awoken he didn't remember who he was or why he was there but she hadn't cared. She'd taken care of him until he was better then in order to repay her kindness he'd begun helping her on various errands. It was a quiet life but he was content with it. If he never regained his memories he didn't really mind. Mika always said even if he remembered he was welcome to stay but something told him that wouldn't be possible. "Hallo! Earth to Raz! Yoo hoo!" Mika called standing on her tip toes and waving a hand infront of his face. He blinked a bit as he snapped back to reality then reached into his pocket and handed her the key to the small house. The young girl had trusted him with it and surprised him with the reason. 'You cannot expect anyone to trust you anymore then you trust them.' She had said. He shook his head a bit as they took the time to put away the weeks groceries then relax. "Have you ever wondered if perhaps there is something other then us in this world?" He asked staring absently into space with the porcelien tea cup resting comfortablly in his hands. "Ya mean like aliens and all that occult stuff?" She shrugged a bit taking a small sip of the glass of water sitting on the counter. "I guess, I mean it's possible." He nodded slightly at this rinsing out the cup and putting it in the proper place for the waiting dishes before making his way upstairs. It had been quite a day and he couldn't help but wonder why he had asked such a question. Opening the closet he found one item standing out from the rest. A beautiful aqua colored silk coat with light blue embroidery. Mika had said he was wearing it when she found him so she'd fixed the tears and hung it up. That along with the curious amulet that sat on the table beside his bead were the only two things he had ever found that stirred his memory. They brought nothing to mind but they felt so familiar and he was sure they had much to do with the past. There was a knock on the door and he turned to open it. "Hey Raz. I'm going out for a while so stay out of trouble." Came Mika's voice before he heard her footsteps make their way quickly down stairs then out the door, fading as she got farther away. Something had seemed odd about her behavior lately and now he was curious. Mika never left by herself, there were parts of town considered incredibly dangerous for a young women like herself and she knew nothing about fighting or really defending herself. "What in the world are you up to?" He muttered as he sat on the bed running his hands through his hair letting it settle into a slightly spiked fashion as it liked. ~*~*~*~ Dante had to admit he was a bit surprised when the dark haired girl pushed open the door to the shop and stepped inside glancing around. "Sorry babe we're closed." He said automatically as he did to ward of any customers that weren't dealing with his sort of buisness. She looked at him and her expression was something of curious wonder as she watched the devil hunter while Dante was just plan curious. "Amazing." She whispered in slight disbelief. "The resemblence is incredible. Even beyond the appearance." She added nodding slightly. He raised an eyebrow giving a skeptical expression having no idea what in the hell she meant. "Listen hun, you want something or what?" He asked after a few moments the fact that the can sitting on the desk was getting warmer with each passing second had him a bit agitated and impatient. She nodded schooling herself into a calm expression before she spoke. "Indeed I do. I admit I was surprised by the incredible resemblence to my friend but it's on a far deeper level then appearance, and something tells me it is more then coincidence." She said. His curious look remained and possibly grew at this words. "Ya mean that guy I saw ya with earlier today?" He asked. She nodded at this and he wondered just where this was going. So he shrugged nonchalantly trying to remain aloof about the situation as always. "He has no memory of anything before I found him. I was hoping perhaps you could at least meet him, it might help him remember something, anything." Her tone was caring, but worried. No matter who this guy was he was definately lucky. Dante sighed a bit pretending to think about it despite the fact that he had made up his mind the instant she had asked. "Sure bring him here in one week just after sunset. I'll see if I can jog his memory any." He said giving a dismissive wave in her direction. She smiled gratefully and took a bow. "Thank you very much. I will repay you however I can." She said before hurrying out the door. "What the hell have I gotten myself into?" The devil hunter couldn't help but muse aloud once the door had closed. He had absolutely terrible luck with women after all so this was definately nothing good. |
