A white pelted she-cat slipped through a small patch of bracken, making her way to a very important place to her. A breeze sent rippled waves through her glossy fur, seeming to be fairly well-fed. The scent lingering off of her was not one of this clan, and had a vague scent of crow-food, which appalled even her, garbage isn't the best smell or taste, then again, the kittypet food isn't the best either, she thought to herself, her small limbs hurrying through ferns and anything in her path. She hadn't had fresh food in days, which had forced her off to eat things from garbages, and sneak through cat-doors into housefolk nests.

Now, the sound of rustling had caught her attention, as a small gray figure played with leafs, share our meal one last time, Tabby? was the only thought that slipped into her mind, as if she were speaking to him. Instinctively, she dropped into a crouch, and crept towards the oblivious creature. Before it could even notice the ghostly feline's figure, she landed on it, and killed it without hesitation.

Carrying the small rodent in her jaws, Ghostpaw located a spot that had the stale scent of blood, mixed with crowfood, Clancats, and Streetcats. Her body froze on the spot, as a shiver ran up her spine, staring at the ground. After a couple of moments, her mind finally allowed her to move, carrying her paws to one specific spot, and dropping the mouse where the scent of stale blood was the strongest, filling her lungs with the wretched scent that tangled itself with a close friend's.

Ghostpaw found herself now laying in the exact spot, carefully taking small bites of the mouse, which made her stomache growl in protest when she had not eaten it sooner, her eyes focussed on the ground as if another cat were there. "Are you with me, Tabby?" she mewed to the air, "isn't this nice? No fighting for food..." her tail twitched, "and the fumes of those spitting monsters running the ground is nowhere to be found..." she took another careful bite, it's like sharing with you again... but without really. Her ears pressed against her skull, thinking of everything playing out again, as a flame-pelted tom ripped the last breath from her dear friend. "I wonder where we'll go when we die. Where you went... StarClan only watches over these cats, according to Sabby... so... who watches us? Does anyone?" she began thinking about this, as she took another small bite of the mouse. She really didn't know. It kind of made her sad, to wonder where she would go. Her head lifted, thinking for a couple of minutes now, trying to figure out the chances of a patrol coming through and doing what had happened to Tabby to her.

Flare ran through the shrouded woods, watchng the falling leaves fly by him as he paced deeper into the forest. His heart was pounding in his chest and his mind was filled with scattered thoughts about a certain Toms death. His paws pattered against the bronze leaves that lay along the ground. Flarepaw had reached a clearing....it smelt of stale blood and crow food but, it also smelt of a familiar scent, the scent of a snow-white Street Clan Cat.

He continued foward to see the silouhette of Ghostpaw in the corner of his emerald eyes. He quickly spun around on his paws facing her, to see that she was in the middle of eating. "Ghost...paw?" he questioned alerting her of his presence if he didn't know already.

Hearing her name, Ghostpaw's blue eyes shot up to stare at the one who had addressed her, a shiver was sent down her spine. The only thing that could run through her mind was the images of leaving Tabby behind, with his murderer, the flare-pelted cat, hovering over him. Suddenly, her mouth became dry, and regretted eating the clan's food, as it seemed to turn over in her stomach, barely managing to swallow the food that was in her mouth.

The ghost-like cat rose to her paws, with fluid like movements, almost appearing to be a ghost herself, as she took a single, quick step backwards. Her blue eyes widened a little, and to try to look slightly intimidating, managed to bristle her fur some, more out of fear than hate, however, could feel it slowly pooling into her body. She was upset. Upset that a clan cat had killed her clan's cat. Upset that Tabby hadn't run. Upset that the cat was standing in front of her. But mostly, upset that she hadn't saved her closest friend from the claws of the tom.

"What do you want? Haven't you done enough damage? To me? To...Tabby?" she sounded irritated, in order to mask her fear, however, surely a fear-scent was rising around her from wondering what would become of her, especially after eating the clan's prey. It probably wasn't smart, seeing as StreetClan killed unwelcomed cats that ate any prey, or anything edible at that, in their territory, or around it.

Flarepaw stepped towards her a bit closer. smelling the prise of dead prey she had just caught, It was a large mouse that would probably last her a while. He sniffed around again smelling fear of the She-Cat. SHe had most likely thought that he had come to kill her, or to interogate her. Flarepaws heart beat faster as his fear of the wrong impression of himself came across his thoughts. "Ghostaw....I didn't mean to..." he cut himself off as she hissed sharply a question from her maw. "I didn't mean to kill Tabby, I didn't have a choice." he mewed gently trying to assure her that he wasn't there to harm her in any way. "I don't want to hurt you... I just wanted...."

"You could have, you just didn't give me a chance to pull him away," she hissed her responce. "You killed my friend," the ghost-like cat mewed. Another chill slipped down her spine, she wasn't supposed to be on this territory. "And it's simply amazing that you haven't tried to do so to me, to get me off of your territory," her tone was bitter.

Ghostpaw shut her eyes for several seconds, before sitting again, and wrapping her tail around her small frame. If he were to kill her, she wanted to die beside where her friend had, however, she'd put up a fight after the first hit, because Tabby wouldn't want her to just sit there and take numerous blows to the face. She couldn't help but feel useless now that the most courageous cat she had known as a kit was now deceased.

Her eyes flickered to the mouse on the ground, before back to Flarepaw, having lost her appetite for the creature. "What? What did you want?" her mew was barely audible, as she searched the ground for any traces of her old clanmate, "to torment me?"

"I...." Flarepaw closed his eyes in partial embarrasment that he was stalling. He was stuck, inbetween some trees and an angry She-Cat. He could see her eyes burn with blue flames. "I don't care about that, I...don't care if your here" He sat in his place then lifted his nose up into the air, noticing just how strong the smell actually was.

Flarepaw walked over to her seeming to be slightly ancy. He stood just barely infront of where Tabby had passed, he shut his eyes, waiting for a tear to fall. It dropped slowly off of his face, onto the sight of his death as if it was praying for him.

"I only wanted to tell you that your welcome to hunt on our territory, I will inform the deputy of my decision, he should handle it....and I'm sorry....you don't have to forgive me...and I don't expect you to...but I'm....I'm sorry"

Ghostpaw stared at the tom for a few moments, "...dep...uty?" she tilted her head slightly, confusion littering her face. In her clan, there weren't clan terms, save for Leader and warrior. She was still fairly sore about the fact of her friend dying, and her eyes betrayed that emotion. "I don't want to be part of your clan. If I were welcome, I'd feel as if I were!" she instantly spat, ignoring his sorrow.

The ghost-like cat remained in her place, refusing to move from her location, however, pushed the mouse towards the tom, "you can have the rest... I can't eat that any more," she looked back to the dirt. "You shouldn't have killed him, if you didn't want to. You could have avoided it. She felt rather uncomfortable in this territory, but didn't intend on leaving quite yet, "why couldn't you and that spotted cat just leave us alone? Fang didn't even intend on killing anyone!"

"I'm sorry you feel that way...." Flarepaw mewed to her softly as if his energy had left him. His ears layed flat against his head as he pointed his nose towards the sky, gazing into the Autumn trees. He sniffed the dead mouse and lost his appetite as it was mixed with the smell of cat blood. "I'm not...hungry" he mewed with nothing more than a singal question. "Why...Ghostpaw? Why do you wander with the Rogues?" He turned to her with questioning eyes as his whiskers rose.

"I don't wander," she answered bluntly, "our home -- in your term, camp -- is located in an alley..." the she-cat responded. "It's my home, and the kittypet life isn't welcoming to me. Not all housefolk -- er-- twolegs are as nice as some may seem," she mewed, "and my mother is the assistant of the leader... I'm not going to leave her there," she mewed. "The forest-life isn't fit for a street cat, and street cats have a rough life, with dogs, monsters, housefolk, and other things, so Rayne got several rogues and kittypets together to live in one alley, so we're capable of taking things on in numbers, rather than getting our tails ripped off by a dog. Just... not all the cats, like you've probably noticed, are very nice."

The ghost-pelted feline shifted slightly, "StreetClan is not just rogues," was her firm answer, her ears twitched uncomfortably. "We are like you and your clan. If you wonder why I run with StreetClan, why do you run with... whatever clan you're in?"

"So, you feel comfortable living in the backstreets?Eating crow food?" He asked in a slightly rude manner, but masked it with a scincere look. He lowered his whiskers realizing that he wouldn't get through to her, yet he persisted. "DO you enjoy having to hide from other clans, having to continue a rough life?" He walked to the outskirts of the clearing, just barely letting his feet drag. He was now facing the the direction of Street Clan, it seemed so rugged and bare of love of any form. "I am sorry... I will not use that term if you don't like it." He appologized to her in a gentle mew.

Ghostpaw's ears flattened further to her head, "we don't have any other clans to fight with, and our cats don't usually die to anything like that," her voice sounded as if she were going to hiss her responce, and was fighting it back from doing so. "I'm fine living in the alley, and it's not bad to eat what you find, provided that it's not rotted with bugs inside of it, or holds a strange smell, because if you eat a piece of food that smells bad," she cringed, "you get ill and die."

"My life isn't too rough, if I really wanted your life, I'd have attempted to be in one of your clans, but my life is around housefolk nests," her tail twitched with irritation. "And we are not rogues. We have a home. It's called StreetClan."

Flarepaw just gazed at her, seeing her resistance to lash out at him. Je could tell she wanted to make him pay for killing Tabby. He didn't blame, he had killed her best friend in cold blood. "I...I know Ghostpaw" He started in a low meow letting his vowels rumble in his clenching throat. It pained him to speak of his mother however, he did so any way. "When my mother...passed away," he stalled substituting his more harsh words of 'Murdered by that caniving,Mouse-Dung, Smoke Blood' "I didn't know what to do,I had to explain it to my little sister, and my father had a look of disgrace.....becuase it was my fault..."

He stopped commuting....for a moment as he thought to himself of what Fang had done to his mother, and then of what he had done to tabby. "I'm no different,I'm no different! Not a difference between Smoke Blood and I! I killed Tabby just like Fang killed my mother..." His eyes turned a phaded azure as his tears blurred the coloring of his Irises.

A look of vacancy slipped onto the feline's face, her eyes seeming to gain a confused glint. "You? Like Fang?" this made her mrrow with laughter, "you two are not alike. Not at all. Fang would kill me, if Sabby and Rayne would rip his pelt off if he dared to," she shook her head. "Fang kills dogs that are the size of a kit if they wander within a housefolk nest-length near our territory. When our food ran low, he attempted to take one of the queens kits to eat. Surely you see a difference now?" her body shifted again, as Ghostpaw rose to her feet, moving - almost like a member of StarClan - towards Flarepaw, lightly pressing her nose to his shoulder in order to comfort him.

"You haven't a thing to worry about being like him. Very different, you both are.... unless you eat kits," she mewed. The faint sound of the teeth around her neck clinked as a soft breeze blew across the territory.

Flarepaw sneered for a moment at her laughter and snickering as she covered comfort with humor. He then realized she was trying to make him feel some what better. He look into her phantom blue eyes feeling slightly comforted. He was a tad surprised that the play tough be tough She-Cat was comforting him.

"Wha....?Thank....you..." He mewed in a medium tone as he felt her nose against him."you know...you don't have to...." He meowed to her refering to her nose nudging him.

"I know I don't have to..." the ghost-cat mewed, taking a step back from the tom, with a vacant stare filling her eyes again, "I don't have to do anything I don't want to..." she mewed, looking past the tom now, off into the forest, "should have figured you wouldn't want a street cat that close," her voice had hinted at bitterness, as her ears pricked, listening for any other cats, however, luckily did not hear any.

Her tail twitched again, and the glint in her eyes seemed to read like a burning-bright sign that stated: 'I'm as stupid as a mouse'. "I don't blame you. Not many cats find comfort in a rogue," her mew was flat, as if insulting herself now, knowing never to comfort or be near a clan cat. Especially this one. The one that had killed her dear friend.

The she-cat soon shifted, and turned to stand back at her friend's resting site, before laying down, and staring at Flarepaw.
