"What can I do? I barely have any idea who my kits are in Riverclan and Nightclan, let alone be able to convince them. I tried with Ghostpaw, and it hasn't worked out so well." Opalstar looked at Oddeye, wondering if talking to someone else might help his pain.

"Maybe you should visit Ghostpaw, then?" he mewed, giving his best advice. "If you do, perhaps you can fix things with her - and maybe her mother will be able to tell you about the tom in Nightclan..." he suggested.

"Yeah... the only problem is it might be hard not to arouse suspicion. I mean, a leader dissapearing? That is not suspicious in the slightest." He mrrwed at his own sarcastic tone. "And, Ghostpaw may not take it so well. I think she may hate me now. I don't know what to do, how would you handle this? I don't know what to say to Ghostpaw to try to get forgiveness."

"If I were in your paws..." Oddeye gained a vacant stare. "I don't know what I'd do. Do something with her that you would have done with her if she were with you as a kit..."

"Good luck, Opalstar," Oddeye mewed, stretching his legs, "I think that is all, and I hope that Starclan's prophecy... is little worry..." he tried to think of better things to say about it, but could think of nothing.
"If you don't mind, I think I'm going to go find more herbs... perhaps find Snowkit..." he paused for a moment, "wait... before I leave... I was wondering if you would consider making Snowkit my apprentice? She shows great interest in herbs, and I could really use her help," he meowed thoughtfully. "And if I'm not mistaking... she's about six months..." |

Opalstar smiled at Oddeye. "Of course, I will make the announcment as I leave tomorrow. I am glad you have someone picked out." He smiled. "See you later, Oddeye, and remember, not a breath of this. I trust you, but you can never be too sure." He walked deeper into his den to brood on recent events.
