The Gathering-Nov.24

[Frost-Kit]

Rainstar pattered along the leaf-fall ground, scurrying through uprooted ground and patches of grass anf dirt. Her paws were bitter of the cold air as the water droplets on her paws crystalized. She shook off her pelt, letting water fly off of its silky texture. She stopped short of the Great Rock, looking up at the full moon with her silver eyes. The Flood Clan cats she had brought about her sta close behind, staying silent in a moment of respect. "The moon is vibrant tonight, maybe this gathering will be of substantial sustain." She uttered from her maw quietly as a light breeze tumbled about. Her ears twiched as it whizzed through her ears.

"Hmph I don't know why we have to do these stupid gatherings, it's not like Star Clan listens anyways!" A new hunter among the group mrowed, nnot seeming to have any resoect of this event at all.

"Hold your tounge Warrior!" The leader of Flood Clan hissed angrily at his lack of respect. "Or else I will rake it from your maw myself!"

The clearing quickly came into sight for NightClan cats, as Dawnstar's head appeared over a small hill, followed by her warriors and apprentices. Her eyes flickered to stare back and look for her medicine cat. The majority of her cats had been brought with save for only one warrior and a few apprentices.

Her paws tapped the ground at her hurried pace, and made a simple leap over uneven ground before finding herself in the clearing of fourtrees. "I wonder what all the clans have to say tonight..." her eyes glittered and stared up at the sky, curiousity slipping through her mind.

The silvery pelt of the she-cat flickered in the starlight that filtered easily through the trees, as her body shifted some, looking for the other leaders.

[Jackal]

Opalstar burst into the clearing, followed by his clan's warriors and apprentices. He walked toward the middle of the clearing, nodding his head toward Rainstar and Dawnstar, and looked behind him at his line of cats. He smiled at them, and stopped walking. He looked down the two lines of cats, from Riverclan and Nightclan.

Goreclaw walked a few cats from Dawnstar's back. He was nervous, as he had only gone to 3 gatherings, including this one. He was excited, and anxious to start mingling. His fur twinged with anticipation.

Oddeye hurried only a fox-length behind Opalstar, his whiskers twitching with anticipation. He liked the gatherings, but was curious of how this one would be held. Would anything about the prophecy be said? Or would it just be an average one?

Brokenpelt padded at the end of the line of his clan, CloudClan, seeming fairly calm and easy-going. His leader proudly taking the front of the group of cats. He couldn't wait to mingle with the other elders and tell stories to any apprentice willing to listen.

Skunkpelt was close to Dawnstar's side, until entering the clearing. His pelt rippled in the breeze, and looked around at the cats that had already entered the clearing, before nodding to a small group of cats, and slipping towards them.

Oakpelt and Rainstar

"Your here I see," Rainstar said calmly to Oakpelt as her eyes shifted to him. She said no more and shifted her weight onto he front paws and lightly sprang off of them onto the Great Rock. Oakpelt's orange eyes looked bland and motionless.

"Yes I'm here, sorry to keep you waiting..." He responded to her in a low mrow.

Flarepaw and Diamondfang

"The gathering, the place not far from where mother....." Flarepaw mewed quietly under his breath hoping his father wouldn't here him. His eyes flared in the moonlight, as he look towards the Flood Clan leader.

"You shouldn't remenisque on the memories of your mothers death son, just focus on the Gathering" Diamondfang spoke to his son calmly.

"Brothers, sisters, we should begin our Gathering now, if the other Leaders would take their place among the Great Rock"

Dawnstar nodded a little to the she-cat who had hopped onto the rock, and followed in suit, after flicking her tail as a greeting to Opalstar. Just as the she-cat had told leaders to join on the rock, Cloudclan's leader, Saberstar made his way up to the rock, hopping up and taking his place near the Floodclan leader. Dawnstar seemed to sit further back on the rock, thinking of what to talk about when she was to speak.

Leopardtail looked around, taking a glance at her apprentice, Flarepaw. Half of her wanted to speak to the tom, but the other half told her that it was ill-advized to, and made her way to listen to the elder's talk until the leaders were to start talking.

Opalstar hopped up after Dawnstar, talking his place, his body looked calm, but his eyes gave away his awkward position. He had decided to tell about the prophecy, but leave any connection to himself out of it. It was only fair the others knew about it.

Goreclaw sat, looking up at the leaders in admiration. If only he could stand up there, and have the respect of all the other cats. He brooded for a moment, before joining his friend from Cloudclan, mewing "hi".

Rainstar and Oakpelt

"Leaders, friends, our clan has a new Queen, I believe the kits are to be very healthy." Rainstar meowed through the air of the Fourtree's. "Oakpelt will tell you of our elders" She beckoned to the Oak colored tom.

"Our, New Elders are Snarlfur, and Cedarclaw, our most honored Elder is Riverpelt" Oakpelt stepped down and stayed silently in his place.

Diamondfang and Flarepaw

"I wish,you'd quit saying that father," Flarepaw meowed lowly, showing some resentment towards his fathers comment.

"Wheteher or not you wish it is your problem, however son, I am your father and you will obey me"

The medicine cat of Lightningclan shifted uncomfortably at the thought of a warrior giving out the information that the leader should have. Oddeye's eyes flickered to look at Opalstar, then slowly shifted to Dawnstar and Saberstar. It seemed StarClan had not been angered by the act, as no clouds threatened to cover the moon.

Skunkpelt's eyes narrowed a little, "mouse-brained leader..." his meow was almost silent, so as not to draw attention to himself with the fact that a Floodclan apprentice was merely a fox-length away from him.

Brokenpelt exhaled quietly, silently watching the cats of the gathering.

[Leafpool]

Leafpool stood among the cats, situated beside a couple of Cloudclan cats and a Floodclan apprentice that continuously fidgetted in front of her. There is no interest in this so far... I was hoping for something to catch my eyes... her body pressed against the ground, slipping closer towards the large rock, to spot Oakpelt. She hurried over to the top. "Oakpelt?" she hissed lowly, making her way to the tom, "what were you doing up there?"

Dawnstar took it as her time to share about her clan, and made her way to the edge of the rock, staring down at the cats. "In NightClan, two of our warriors have become elders, we have one queen expecting kits soon..." she purred out information on twoleg activity in the area, and took a glance over the cats, meeting eyes with her medicine cat. "And I'm certain we have an... interesting future ahead for our clan," she finished, turning and taking a seat beside Saberstar.

Saberstar looked over to Opalstar, and nodded at him, "I'd like for you to go first," he meowed lowly, with a slightly unkind tone to it.

Opalstar nodded briskly at Saberstar, before looking out at the assorted cats.
"I have grave news. My medicine cat, Oddeye, has brought back a prophecy.
Cats will spill blood again.
Unknown cats will fight.
To save the forest or destroy.
A new battle will rise
I fear that this may be reason to believe some kind of hostile action may happen in the near future. I am not accusing anyone, but I wanted to put this out, so people can be cautious." Opalstar gulped deeply, as he recited to modified version he made up. He didn't want anyone to suspect anything, but didn't want to leave them in the shadows. He had decided earlier that day that no one would know the true words, other than him and Oddeye. What difference did it make in the end?
"In other news, one of our kits, Snowkit, has become the Medicine apprentice. One of our apprentices became a warrior, and a warrior became a queen. It is like a circle of life." He smiled at the crowd.

Goreclaw, nervous as could be, listened to Opalstar's prophecy. He knew what this was about. He gulped, and thought of what was to become of him.

Oddeye shifted uncomfortably as the cats that knew him took glances towards him. Opalstar had altered the prophecy, and only he knew it, however, didn't dare say anything about it. It wasn't the other clan's rights to know about LightningClan's prophecy. They didn't need to know the entire thing.

Skunkpelt's eyes shifted, glancing around the cats, after hearing the prophecy told by the leader of LightningClan. "Sounds like a pile of mouse-dung," he hissed lowly under his breath, not seeming to believe that there were any danger of the other clans.

Brokenpelt heaved another sigh, fearing the war that could result. "Never in my life did I think that I would live to see the day a true battle broke among the clans. I don't intend on seeing that day, either," his tail twitched, not irritably, though. It was as if he was telling himself he would not live long enough to see the clans fight.

Dawnstar looked over to Opalstar, "our medicinecat, Smokeface, foretold StarClan's warning of blood being spilt," she meowed. "I won't tell what it is, because really, it's NightClan's business to figure out our prophecy," she dismissed. She wasn't going to tell about the prophecy more than stating there was one.

Saberstar heaved a sigh. "We've gotten one as well, however, there is a greater matter," the tom meowed loudly, pushing passed Opalstar. "One of our newest warriors, Hawkclaw, has dissapeared from CloudClan territory. Apparently, according to one of the older warriors, he saw a NightClan cat walking away from the river nearby after seeming to drop something in. Oddly enough," his eyes flashed to Dawnstar, "Hawkclaw's scent lead towards the river, where the NightClan cat was, and their scents seem to combine, leading us to believe that a cat from NightClan has killed him."

The silver NightClan leader shifted, "that's ridiculous, Saberstar. You know that we wouldn't go against warrior code without a strong reason to! None of my cats have reported back about this, and I trust that my clan would tell me if this were to happen," her eyes scanned the cats, "because they know that I will punish any cat severely if I have to figure something done against warrior code out on my own," her eyes glared back to Saberstar. "Cats say we have too much pride. Wouldn't NightClan be too proud of their ways of staying with warrior code, rather than breaking it? Consider that Hawkclaw may have wandered away, left, found a kittypet home, or slipped into the river before blaming my clan."

Goreclaw gulped when his mistake was spoken. He looked around the clearing guiltily, but no one seemed to be looking at him.
"Oh Starclan, what have I done?" He murmured under his breath, as he waited for more news.

"Is this what the prophecy talked about?" he said under his breath.
