Darbyville Academy
is a school unlike any other. You won't only find lessons in Math or Chemistry here; you'll also find a small community of outcasts, people born or raised with special powers or abilities, that set them apart from the rest of society. People who might be persecuted or humiliated because of their powers.

But in Darbyville Academy they can find a place of solace and learning, where they are taught to control their abilities and intergrate into society.

Of course, the school can't remain a total secret and some 'normal' people don't like the fact that thes students could be part of a 'super army' that could easily knock out any military force currently in operation. There have been attacks on the school, both physically and socially.

However, by and by, the students live happy and normal lives - as normal as they can. At Darbyville Academy it's not unlikely to encounter werewolves, wizards, angels and demons; hence the students nickname: Demon High.

Rohesia was a little sad when the men in the white coats arrived with injections and the other man saying that they could bring their powers back. Now it wasn't she didn't want her powers back. She really, really did. It just seemed to completely undermine Miss Abbie. All she had wanted to do was help and now no one needed her help but before Rohesia could even say 'thank you' to her she'd gone. Just like that.

Still Rohesia cued up with the rest of the students. She had been pretty close when the men with coats had arrived so was pretty close to the front and although unnoticed by some students the gold mist had not gone unnoticed by Rohesia. She was a healer after all and that was very powerful healing magic. Something Rohesia was very very far off ever being able to do her self. Miss Hirigashi had showed her something similar, on a smaller scale once but even for someone like Miss Hirigashi it had taken up an awful amount of energy.

Still in was her place in line. So she walked forwards and held out her arm, she felt the small prick then it was gone. Her powers were back and yes she was happy and yes she was grateful but she still felt a little sad for Miss Abbie. After all she'd offered hope when there was none, even if Miss Hirigashi or Tirri didn't believe her Rohesia still believed she'd meant no harm and, for whatever reason had only wanted to help the students of the school. People could call her naive or whatever else they like. It had never bothered her before, why would it now? She thought as she made her way back to the school.

She knew Tirri would forgive her. It might take a while but her would. Even if he didn't know it yet.

Jin had waited. Waited till most of the students had gone up for their injections to get in line herself. She had thought about going with Rohesia but the girl obviously needed time to herself. She had trusted Abbigail so very much, she probably still did. Part of Jin's more compassionate side wished she had maybe placed more faith in Abbigail. Jins more logical side however told her that the girl had lied. If she had wanted to help she should have merely said so. Not come in with some grand boast about claiming to be a goddess. Anyone with eyes could have seen that Abigail was powerful. Powers or no powers even Jin could tell that much and even without her powers Jin could tell it was her that had spread the healing mist. Still it did not make her a goddess and whatever power she relied on in Jin's mind it did not forgive her lie.

She probably wouldn't have noticed the injection if not for the grabbing of her arm to get the needle in, something she was not all too impressed with, though she did not complain. However it wouldn't have taken her a second to notice the return of her powers.

In a second she felt her powers kick back in again. She could hear the forest, she could sense the sparks of life returning to the students as they regained their powers, she could feel the mass of power that surrounded her once again. She felt like herself again. Not some weak pathetic human, helpless and barely able to fend for themselves. She was looking forward to getting back in her classroom again. She had much to catch up on and much to check out. Some regarding this whole situation. Some not so much.

In regards to Rohesia though Jin was not too worried. She would come back to her when she was ready.

The prick of pain, the sudden flowing of liquids into the vascular system. Lili could feel the acute senses within her return. It was subtle at first, like a gentle breeze, and then got more acute. The energies around them, expended by those that had lived and fought on the grounds caught back up with her. It was like a smog, however, it was much lighter now, probably helped by the healing cloud of glowing gold dust that had enveloped them only moments ago.

Whatever the woman had been, she had both benevolent and malevolent intentions. That was something Lili hadn't needed much much time to ascertain. However, she was suddenly more grateful for the woman's presence, than she had been when she had been around earlier. Perhaps when the teacher meditated tonight she would whisper to the heavens on the girl's behalf, and see if perhaps she could receive a form of penance for her good deed. She wasn't much into western styles of religious thought, but she was somehow thrown by her experience earlier that evening. The white horse, it had been almost as though someone was speaking to her, without really having to.

It was now that Lili's ability hit her like a brick, which made her glad that she had waited til near last to go up. She had thought it more of a good example to let the students go first; even if that were an ideological front to ensure that she was safe to pursue the action. It felt a bit odd to think of the students as lab rats, but in this case, they had been more anxious than she was to get their abilities back.

Once her balance had been restored the teacher wandered back towards the school, not quite sure why the energies she felt were so much more acute than before. It was like even cells were crying out to her with their energies. If it happened that her abilities were like this permanently, she may be at a disadvantage, since the ability would almost make it nearly impossible to concentrate. And she hoped that she didn't have to worry about her ability to gender swap becoming an issue with this new imbalance introduced to her perception and manipulation of Chi.

The hope was it was just her body reacting to having the ability back, but only time would tell if this was the case, or a new annoyance that would require care and attention to hone.

Jade had waited in the arms of her new best friend, if they even considered themselves best friends anymore. He seemed to share an odd bond and perception with her, as though regardless of his powers he understood her. She hoped this didn't create a conflict within her, because her love seemed to be torn between the blue boy and her delicate zombie friend. Were these just really close friends or more than that?

Jade wasn't used to being in such a mental conundrum, but it proved a distraction while they were preparing her arm for the injectable slurry they had concocted to give people their powers back. It looked a lot like cool aid for the most part, but it could also have been iridescent particles, she wasn't quite sure. Being a book worm didn't make her a professional at everything, just knowledgeable enough to navigate complex problems.

However, when she regained her powers, she could feel the tendrils of her energy fly through sections that had been numbed in the last few days. Her ability contained the ability to store DNA in clumps of cells in her brain, which now felt as though it had been suddenly been regained but enhanced. The enhancement wasn't exactly evident, even she didn't catch it. She just felt abnormally relieved.

As she walked away, she felt as though some form of nausea had poured over her. She released the contents of her stomach quickly onto the gravel in front of the school, and continued to move. None of the other students seemed to be made sick by the treatment, perhaps this had something to do with the strangeness she felt. Which was quite inexorably odd, considering the slight burns on her hands from the metal lizard she had helped build were all but healed due to a golden dust that seemed to have settled and disappeared over the property.

She released the contents a second time, this time having moved farther away from the group. If it was a momentary issue, she didn't want it to be a distraction for the teams working with the students. She might be one of the few cases with this problem. It might also go away quite soon.

Jade grabbed her stomach, and finally felt as though it had stopped reeling, but it wasn't permanently so. She knew it felt disrupted, and that was something she needed to be sensitive of for the time being. What would become of this, she was completely puzzled by, but she hoped it wasn't a significant problem.

(Combined Oman and Eran)
When Jade had went up to get treated, so had Oman. He was thankful to have the powers back, and so was his pet, who seemed to dance around now that the mind of hir master was back within mental earshot. Hir plumage became brightly colored, and it danced around like a beautifully animated plant or a peacock, even though both seemed sorely missing the true nature of such a beast as Aeon was.

After the powers began to stream back denser than before, the sensory data was almost more than he could handle. About the time he was curios as to why, it died down some, only because he noticed the touch of another hand on him. It was his sister. She stood over him, touching him to help him through the evident concentration on his face. It was evident that she didn't want him to see the fate she had endured for a year in a coma.

However, it was relaxing to hear the intermixed language of his people with that of the predominant north american language, It's alright, you'll be ok. Just let it work, e'rotha.

It was most definitely his sister, she had used the word e'rotha, meaning brother. How similar to it's english counterpart it was; it was reassuring. The talking and the injection seemed to have unnoticed side effects for the boy, and he was worried that it might have caused something.

“You are prematurely experiencing the adulthood prompted by your recent trauma. I will have to prepare the ritual in the stead of our elders. It must be done within the week. If you want anyone present, let them know in the next few days. If it is not done by the next phase of this planet's moon, it cannot be done until the next full cycle.”

It was odd to hear his sister speak in such authoritative tones, but it was evidently so. How she would create or acquire the necessary armor and weaponry to create what she needed for him to be able to properly go through the ritual concerned him, but it was obvious she was saying this out of duty, than out of any particular passion in her heart. What friends she would have to enable such a development he did not know. The magical nature of the school was certainly a puzzle even to him.

It was obvious that although this turn of events was miraculous, his god had nothing to do with it and that left him with a level of frustration that was likely second only to that of Abbigail. It was probably true that none of them would have lived this long if not for her intervention but he doubted anyone here would notice, they were just lining up like sheep to have their treatment administered so they could get their powers and lives back. It made him spiritually sick that even after their savior went through all this effort for them, that no one was going to even try and say so much as a thank you to her. Guess it'll be my job to get that done.

His spot was seemingly the last in line and if no one was left around to hear, it just went to show how much work he'd have to go through in order to give back for all they'd been given this day. When he finally got up to the table to receive his dosage of the cure to whatever was afflicting them, he just grabbed it and started to walk off towards his car. As he walked, he began to gradually increasing the pressure on the serum filled needle with his left hand and spoke out for all those remaining or within earshot. "I know none of you are overly happy with this outcome. We were saved by someone who had everyone's best interests at heart. So what if their own interests were at the top of the list, there would have been no harm in us letting them help everyone else and everyone involved would have been able to walk away satisfied, if not happy. Instead, you all just turn to the question-less answer, blinding yourself to the blessings that faith can bring."

As he drifted towards his car, he was making sure to wander through as many gold dust laden currents of air as possible, leaving his hair glittering and blowing softly out of his face so anyone paying attention would see the details of his troubled expression. At this moment the glass vial from the needle in his grip shattered as he raised the hand holding it up in front of him, the ends starting to fall but his powers started to come so quickly from the combination of healing dust and the serum entering his blood that he had enough power to pull the broken pieces inside him before they fell away. And as if he'd planned it, his power supercharged for a moment, bringing all the remaining dust ridden air his way, with all the dramatic effect of an anime character powering up. The moment after, he looked down at his front and on his arms and clothes were gold tracings that almost mirrored the black lines that had swarmed Abbigail when she'd aided them. He could feel them on his skin under the clothes as well but knew they wouldn't last long, they were already sinking in and getting thinner, same as the originals that Abbi had.

Wasting no time he turned to those watching in triumph. "And thus I am rewarded in my faith! Praise be to the divine one who brought this blessing and may we meet again. As for the rest of you, reflect on your actions today and ask yourselves if you're satisfied with how this turned out. I know you all can guess how much strain it would put on any god, in particular the glorious Abbigail, to exert this much power with so little belief in them. You all will know how to find me if you find yourself wanting in the shadows of these events. But for now, I must go and I bid thee adieu." With that he turned and took the final steps to his car and drove off, using his revitalized powers to trace the divine marks upon his car for all to see the symbol of his faith as he set off to get his car into a garage and then return to his room to pray for his god's safety, meditate to learn what his new found blessing had bestowed upon him and plan how to spread the word about the Divine Glory that is Abbigail.
