Abilities: Adam has the ability to channel electromagnetic energy through his body and shoot it out of any part of his body, though he prefers to use his hands and eyes for easy targeting. He can also channel his energy internally to temporarily increase his strength, speed and stamina though he can not shoot his electrical energy whilst doing this. Finally, Adam can use his electromagnetic energy to fly at great speeds (top speed is 120mph) by using metals surrounding the area (such as sewer pipes, building structures). Because the human brain is an electromagnetic organ, Adam is immune to any mind-control/telepathy attempts. Anyone who tries to read his mind will get nothing but static, like a radio and anyone who tries to control his mind will quickly find out how useless that really is.

Weakness: Adam's main weakness is that he can be over-protective and blame himself for things that aren't his fault. This was displayed strongly when Holly Mystic's sister died after being attacked by the Friends of Humanity. Adam blamed himself for not protecting her, even though deep down he knew there was nothing he could have done. Another example was when one of his friends took a bullet for him when a sniper had his sights trained on Adam. There was nothing Adam could have done to save him, but he still blamed himself for not moving fast enough. His friends are well aware of his weakness even to the point where the last words of his friend who died in his arms were "Don't blame yourself".

Clothing Style: Adam mainly dresses in casual smart attire. He doesn't wear tracksuits (unless training) and prefers to wear simple plain colours, not brands nor labels. He mainly wears a long-sleeved shirt, some jeans and a sports coat if it is extra cold. In summer Adam wears his trade-mark tank tops and jeans, often looking like someone who works in a gym. In the winter, Adam wraps up and wears turtle neck's and his favourite donkey jacket.

.:Background and Personality

Personality Quiet until the time calls for it, Adam prefers to be a face in the crowd. He doesn't draw attention to himself and is not looking to. Adam is generally polite, even to his enemies. Even when he is angry, Adam tends to keep his calm and doesn't lose control. Adam can be confident and borderlines on arrogant at the best of times although he never lets his arrogance get the better of him. Most of the time he can is cheerful and uses this cheerful energetic façade of his to throw everyone off. When he is sad, Adam closes up and becomes recluse and reluctant to share information with anyone. He seems to 'shut down' at these times and not display any emotion at all, simply staring into the distance and pondering...

History: Adam grew up in a near broken household. His mother was married to an alcoholic mess of a man whose constant rage and physical beatings were fuelled by Whisky. Adam watched this at a young age and wanted to protect his mother. He vowed never to cry and to never be weak. It was one day that his father turned his rage to a five-year old Adam, who shouted at his father when he went to attack his mother. Adam's mother tried to protect her son, but his father beat her to death in a drunken rage that was worse than usual. Adam was so angry that he began to scream, and when his father turned on him, Adam seemingly exploded.

When he woke up, Adam found himself in a hospital ambulance. The explosion was put down to a gas-leak and Adam found that he could mercifully not remember anything that had happened. He was placed in an orphanage that was run by a group of catholic nuns, and soon became known for protecting others from bullies. Adam became close to Sister Mary, one of the nuns who became much like a mother figure to him. At age 13, Adam discovered his power to generate electromagnetic energy and told Sister Mary, who then revealed she too had a 'special gift' and could heal people. Sister Mary took care of Adam and taught him how to use his gift.

At the age of 15, Sister Mary signed Adam up to Darbyville Academy where she herself had gone as a teenager. Adam seemed to fit in just right and was enjoying himself immensely. It was here he also met his first girlfriend, Holly Mystic, who had the ability to speak to animals amongst other things. It was also where the radical hate group known as 'Friends of Humanity' decided to attack the school and kidnap his girlfriend. Adam managed to rescue her, but also discovered his father was alive after the explosion, albeit without his limbs an on a respirator.

Adam's father told them how he had joined up as a member of the FOH by essentially bribing them in, using money he had gained as compensation for the 'gas explosion' that had very nearly killed him. Adam's father revealed he had regretted everything that had happened, and was sorry for his drunken rages. Adam acknowledged the apology but could never truly forgive his father for everything he had done. As an act of euthanasia, Adam cut off his father's oxygen supply and watched him die. His father's last words were: "I'm proud of you boy..."

All was peaceful in Darbyville, although there was some sadness when Holly was moving away. Though they tried a long distance relationship, Adam and Holly both agreed it was too painful and parted as friends. Adam then received a message from the orphanage where he had grown up, about Sister Mary, and how she had caught terminal breast cancer. Adam raced home at top speed to be by her dying side and said his goodbyes to her, thanking her for everything she had done for him.

Adam has come back to DH after a few years of solitude. He wishes to still be a part of DH, and has offered to be 'head of security' around the area.


Changes to last version:

• Changed Adam's powers to electromagnetic, as it explains pretty much anything he can do, this also leaves scope for power evolution
• Changed his history so he didn't remember the abuse he suffered
• Changed it so his protective nature is psychological and not learnt from
• His mother was also a victim of abuse
• Adam now grew up in an orphanage and had one good friend
• Anything after FOH saga didn't happen, Adam wasn't involved in any of that.
• Any topic with Adam as an old man didn't happen, also retconned
• Anything about Project Genesis didn't happen, that has also been retconned
• I think you'll agree this version of Adam is better

Well I really like it. I want Ruby to be his new best friend. Cos she likes making people feel better and so do I. I'm a bit sad really, but he sounds so broken I just want to tuck him up in bed.

See, now I want to make a character to be Adam's girlfriend and show him that just cos someone loves him, it doesn't mean they're gonna leave.
