.:Character Details
Name: Whitney Rick Age: 17 Date of Birth: December 31, 1992 Gender: Male Hometown: Logan, Utah Student/Teacher: Student Abilities:
The Oddity First off, this is not an ability, but plays a big part in Whitney’s abilities. Whitney was meant to be born a twin, unfortunately when he was born, his twin was stillborn. She was possessed the stronger abilities and spirit of the two, so she, instead of leaving to the after life, latched onto Whitney and began to share his body. This gave his body not only his weaker abilities, but also her stronger ones. Unfortunately he has very little control over any of the powers. Whitney has taken to calling his twin Whith—even though he doesn’t know that the little girl in his mind is actually his twin. At times she will take over his body and control it. Something about Whith, is that she has never grown up, and so still acts like a six or seven year old even though she’s living in a sixteen year old’s body.
Twin Abilities (These abilities are pretty obvious, considering the fact that these two twins’ spirits are sharing the same body.)- Twin Empathy: The emotional connection between twin siblings. One with this ability can empathically sense when their twin is in danger, how their twin is feeling, and can channel the emotions, thoughts and abilities that their twin is feeling, along with all of the other faculties that go along with empathic connection. One with this ability however, may also feel the pains and possibly even die if their sibling is killed.
- Twin Telepathy: the mental connection between twin siblings. One with this ability can psychically sense when their twin is in danger, what their twin is thinking, and can channel the words, ideas and mental abilities that their twin is thinking, along with all of the other faculties that go along with telepathic connection. One with this ability however, may also speak the thoughts and possibly even act the same as their sibling.
----Personalized-Obviously, since they share a body, they follow this power in communication by thoughts, and at times Whith can take over Whitney’s body.
Whitney’s Original Abilities- Sympathy the psychic ability to empathically absorb all the pains and stresses of subjects. One with this ability is capable of keeping allied subjects from feeling any pain, no matter how badly they are injured. This is because the user of the ability actually absorbs the pain sensation from the subject, even if the subject is oneself, and disperses it by feeling it all at once, and then the pain is dismissed.
----Personalized-Unfortunately in Whitney’s case, he has very little control over this ability (or any ability) and will either often accidentally take on the pain of others and not be able to handle it by dispersing it all at once, so he will be in whatever pain he absorbed for quite a while. - Pain Transfer the psionic ability to literally "shift" injuries and pain from a subject (even the user) to a selected subject, who serves as the "health proxy" or "damage proxy", after forming an empathic link with them. This ability allows subjects to get injured as badly as they can without fatality, and the pain transferor need only think it in order for the wounds to leave the subject's body and occur on the foe's body, or to appear on the proxy's body instead of the intended victim's body. This ability could be used simply to give pain to others, or to remove an injury or illness from a subject, and induce it on the foe.
----Personalized-Whitney has very little control over this ability, and will sometimes accidentally transfer his own pain to others, when he doesn’t mean to or even accidentally transfer someone else’s pain to another. Generally, Whitney tries his hardest not to use this ability.
Whith’s Added Abilities- Astral Projection: the psychic ability to temporarily release the spirit or “mind-self” from the body, allowing one to roam freely on a vision quest, or enter and exit one’s own body at will. The longer one travels, however, the more potential harm is inflicted upon the body of the one who has left it with no consciousness or thought.
----Personalized-Whitney has little control over this ability and it is very dangerous whenever he does leave his body, since it is very difficult for him to return to it. Only with Whith’s help so far has he been able to. After any Astral Projection is used, this includes when the ability Body Possession is used Whitney is very weak, physically, mentally and spiritually. It usually takes days to recover. Whith is more in touch with this ability, since it is personalized to her, and since she is already a dead and doesn’t have a living body to return to, although she shares Whitney’s. Even though it would be fairly safe for her to roam often using this ability, she tends to rather stay in Whitney’s body more often. - Bodily Possession: the ability to enter the body or consciousness of one or more subjects and effectively take control of said body or consciousness via astral form (if the user of this power is tangible, he cannot physically step into another corporeal entity's body; this defies the laws of physics). One with a more powerful version of this ability can possess multiple bodies at once, and push the host's astral self out of his body, thus taking complete control of the body of the host.
----Personalized-Again, Whitney has very little control over this ability and sometimes, when plagued with heightened emotion or stress, will find himself suddenly entering another’s body, or even accidentally bumping them out of their own body. Another problem is that he is never quite sure how to return to his own body without Whith’s help. As for Whith, since this is her ability originally, she has a bit more control over it, though is still just a child in spirit, she may sometimes leave Whitney’s body for the fun of it and take procession of a person’s body for a little while. Luckily, she knows how to return to Whitney’s body without his help. - Astral Trapping: the ability to trap a foe or subject in their astral-projective state. This can be used to keep ghosts from manifesting themselves, keep astral projectors from releasing their astral self, or keep their astral self from re-entering their own body. As a matter of fact, one with this ability may very well keep the astral body from moving off of the astral plane into the material world at all, or keep those capable of turning intangible from becoming tangible again.
----Personalized-Unfortunately or fortunately, neither Whitney, nor Whith have no idea how to use this ability and have yet to even tap into it. So, for now, this ability is void.
.:Appearance
Height: 6'1” Weight: Build: Hair Colour: Eye Colour: Avatar Claim: General Appearance: First off, to describe Whitney’s build, it is important to say that he is not typical hero, athlete, or fighter material. He stands at around six feet, maybe a bit taller and has a very thin build. In coming years it is likely that he will grow even taller as most boys do until they're about 21. It is not uncommon for him to be given nick names like “stick,” or “toothpick.” Unlike some people, however, who have thin builds but also possess unexpected strength or speed, Whitney is what you would call a “wimp.” He has very little body fat, but also has very little physical strength what so ever. Whitney is very delicate. He is easily hurt, meaning that he bruises easily and it wouldn’t take too much force to break one of his bones. His weakness has often cause him to be the target of bullies throughout most of his life so far.
Moving passed his tall, fragile frame, we come to Whitney’s face. Something that one must know about Whitney is that he isn't what you would call "handsome", actually he more fits the description of "pretty" or “cute” than handsome. His eyes are two different colors, not just because he was born with them like that but because of Whith, the little girl, who shares his body. One eye is very outstanding pale blue, and the other is a sweet cinnamon brown. Whitney’s eyesight is terrible, so he needs thick prescription glasses, with out them he is basically blind. It would be a very rare sight to see him with contacts, since he’s just to afraid of putting them in his eyes, although it may not be so uncommon to see him with simply no glasses, thanks to his clumsiness and the unfortunate occasions where he must walk around nearly blind because he broke his glasses. Whitney’s skin tone holds a a pale, peachy glow, but easily shifts colors according to the situation and his emotions. For example, his face will frequently drain to a pale, paper white color when he is afraid or stressed, and his face will flush a deep red when he is embarrassed. His face looks some what as a female’s would in the smooth way that the angles of his face curve. Some times it takes a person to look twice at him before deciding that he is a male, and his name doesn’t help with this matter.
Framing his delicate face is fine flaxen hair that he often allows to grow out, thanks to his fear of scissors and someone handling scissors around his head when getting his hair trimmed. His hair has a very slight wave to it, making it look slightly fluffier than it really is, but for the most part it is straight. It is long enough that it often falls in front of his eyes and tickles the base of his neck.
.:Family Details Mother's Name: Lilly Whitney Rick Father's Name: Wyatt Robert Rick Brothers/Sisters:3 Brothers 1 Sister
.:Background and Personality Personality: Whitney is a very delicate and sensitive boy. He doesn’t talk very much because of how frightened he is of people (and just about everything else, for that matter), but when he does talk his voice is very quite and hushed, coming out as a soft stutter. Whitney startles and flusters very easily and is nearly afraid of everything. He has a hard time handling any of his fears. Along with his weakness, Whitney also tends to be very clumsy, tripping over his own feet, bumping into tables and what not. Something about Whitney is that it is nearly impossible to make him angry. He has been picked on all his life and has still rarely ever felt that emotion. He is convinced that he deserves whatever bad thing happens to him for being so weak, even if those bad things might hurt or make him sad. Plus, he figures that if it will satisfy who ever is bullying him and make them happy, then he might as well let them be happy. Despite his belief that people probably have a right not to like him because of how annoying he most likely is to them, Whitney, of course, still doesn’t like to be disliked and so tries to do what he can for people.
Things that Whitney enjoys doing are reading, although he rarely finishes a book because he gets frightened while reading the story, drawing (But he doesn’t have a knack for it), and also writing. Writing is one of the few things that Whitney can do very well. He is not good at coming up with good literature; but rather, his handwriting is very nice, thanks to his mother’s insistence. When he was young he would practice writing in various types of calligraphy, and now has a very strong talent for it.
Although Whitney tries not to hate anything, there are a couple things that he really can’t stand. Sports. He hates just about every sport thanks to his father. He especially hates American Football.

History: Whitney was born in Logan Utah as a twin. Unfortunately his twin sister was stillborn, and his parents never told him about her, so to this day, he still doesn’t know that he had a twin sister. He had four siblings (excluding his deceased twin sister), three brothers and one sister. Two of his brothers were older than him and one was a year younger. All of his brothers were very ‘boyish’, much more so than Whitney. He was often bullied by his brothers, even his younger one, simply because he was the perfect target for such treatment. He was a wimpy boy with a face that resembled a girl. Even to this day his face resembles that of a girl, although not nearly as much as when he was younger. Whitney was always hanging out with his little sister. Whitney wasn’t really in to girl things, but it seemed like he enjoyed playing with his little sister more than hanging out with his other brothers for obvious reasons.
Ever since he could remember, Whitney always had a voice in head. It was always the voice of a little girl, she sounded around six or seven. The female voice called itself Whith. Whitney was always speaking with her in his mind, every once and a while he would find himself speaking to her out loud, earning himself odd looks from others that were near. She was always with him and he was used to having her in his mind. Little did he know that she was, in fact, his dead twin sister. What happened was that when Whith died, even though her body hadn't been strong enough to live, her spirit or soul had been extremely strong and determined. Strong enough, that it latched onto Whitney's body. Ever since, the twins have shared. When Whitney entered grade school, he was immediately the victim of bullies. He would always arrive home crying and his over protective mother would comfort him, while his father grumbled about his son being a sissy. As he grew older, Whith began taking over more and more, unintentionally (at least, most of the time it was unintentional) causing Whitney more humiliation. One can only imagine the kinds of humiliation he was put through when Whith took control of his body at school, seeing as she was a six or seven year old little girl. Not only that, but Whitney also began to see that he was the one with another person in his mind, making him feel even stranger. Whitney learned how to somewhat cope with what was going on, although still has amazing difficulty handling any stressful, frightening or dangerous situations.
One day he came home even more beat up than usual, and being so broken, he continued to spill every thing to his parents. “Spill”, meaning the whole deal with Whith in his head. This news was more than enough to make his parents worry about him. They took him to a psychiatrist. Obviously he had some kind of mental problem. He was kept in the mental hospital for a few weeks before being discharged. While at the hospital, Whitney learned another strange thing about him. His uncontrollable “pain” abilities. While at the hospital, feeling sorry for many of the patients who were in great pain, he accidentally took their pain from them onto himself, causing a break down for him, not knowing how to control such agony all at once. When he arrived home he seemed to be in an even worse state than he had left. His voice, already soft whisper, was even quieter. Whitney seemed to jump and get startled at every movement. This of course made his mother wonder what went on at the hospital.
When he was about thirteen, he developed another strange aspect. Whitney woke up one day, but not in his bed. In fact, he didn’t even wake up in his body. He woke up only as a spirit. His first reaction was panic as he stared down at his sleeping form and worked the whole night at trying to get back into his body. Finally, with Whith’s help, he was able to return to his body. This happened every so often, and just as every so often, Whitney would find that Whith had left his body. Only a short while later, Whitney learned of yet another ability that he had practically no control over. That was actually possessing another’s body. This happened a couple of times at home and at school, each time it was harder and harder to return to his own body.
He decided not to tell anyone about this ability, seeing as the last time he had told someone something strange about him, he had ended up in a mental hospital. His life in Logan continued as it had, getting beat up at school, people verbally abusing him, Whith talking to him and taking over his body at times. It was all just part of life to him. When Whitney was sixteen he received a letter from a mysterious address. It ended up being from a boarding school for struggling, gifted students. The very idea of leaving to a boarding school was terrifying. Living away from home . . . what would he do without his mother? Plus, why would the boarding school even want him? He was certainly struggling, but he wasn't at all gifted. Whitney didn't act on the letter right away. It took him a whole month of building up courage to even look at the letter again.
The day after Whitney read the letter for a second time, his father found it. Whitney had forgotten to put the letter away somewhere safe. When he arrived home from school that day, both his father and mother were sitting at the dining room table looking very serious. Knowing that something was going on, Whitney cautiously sat down opposite of them without even being told to do so. Whitney's dad seemed unusually cheerful. His mom was a different story. His father was set on sending Whitney away to a boarding school, his reasons being that it would be 'good' for Whitney. Being away from home would help him 'toughen up,' 'learn life lessons,' and 'become a man.' His mom didn't see it that way, but in the end, she had no choice but to comply. His father and brothers had all of Whitney's things packed that very same day, while his mother wrote down a list of requirements. A couple requirements included: 'No Girlfriends, No Boyfriends, Write to Mom every day and tell her everything, Mom is allowed to visit whenever she wants, Study hard, practice calligraphy every day (both hands!)' and many more.
His whole family took him up to the school, helped him settle and saw him off, they didn't linger, however. His father would not allow them to linger. And so, Whitney Rick entered Darbyville Academy.
In the Academy, Whitney met a few people and even started calling some of them friends. Qrinta was probably his best friend out of everyone he had met, whereas people like King Kateran and Lord Lianan really just scared him. He was dragged into quite a few events and adventures, never overcoming his extreme anxiety and fear of almost everything. His day to day life continues at Darbyville Academy, making sure to do all the requirements that his mother listed, while trying to keep up with all the strange happenings of the school without passing out.

*Old Verson*[/color] **Darbyville Enrollment Form** **Name: Whitney Rick **Age: 17 Position:Student **Gender: Male **Appearance: Whitney isn't what you would call "hansom", actually he more fits the description of "pretty" than hansome. He stands at around six feet, maybe a bit taller. He has blond hair that usually hangs in front of his eyes. He has a very thin build. Often he’s been called a “stick”. Unlike some people who have thin builds who seem to have a unexpected amount of strength, Whitney is what you might call a wimp. He has hardly any physical strength what so ever, and even his paranormal “ability” is weak. He is very delicate, and gets bruised easily. This has often caused him to be the target of bullies through most of his life. His eyes are two different colors, not just because he was born with them like that but because of his conscience that lives inside of him (<<See Abilities) One eye is very blue, and the other is a very dark brown. He needs glasses, with out them he is basically blind. Some times he'll wear contacts, but not usually since they make his eyes hurt. Whitney’s skin tone holds a healthy peach glow, but because he gets scared or startled very easily he goes very pale at times. His face looks some what as a female’s would. Some times it takes a person to look twice at him before deciding that he is a male, and his name doesn’t help with this matter. **History: Whitney was born in Logan Utah. He was often bullied by his brothers, even his younger one. Whitney was always hanging out with his little sister. Ever since he could remember, Whitney always had a voice in head. It was always the voice of a little girl, she sounded around five or six, it called itself Whith. Whitney was always speaking with her in his mind, every once and a while he would find himself speaking to her out loud. Whitney came to call her his “conscience”. When Whitney entered grade school, he was immediately the victim of bullies. He would always come home crying and his over protective mother would comfort him, while his father grumbled about his son being a wuss. As he grew older, his “conscience” began taking over more and more, causing Whitney more humiliation, seeing as his conscience seemed to be a five year old girl. Whitney learned how to cope with what was going on, Whith taking over, being picked on, etc. One day he came home even more beat up than usual, and being so broken, he continued to spill every thing to his parents. “Spill”, meaning the whole deal with Whith, his conscience in his head. This news was more than enough to make his parents worry about him. They took him to a psychiatrist to maybe see if there was some thing wrong with Whitney’s mental state. He was kept in the mental hospital for a couple of days before being discharged. When he arrived home he seemed to be in an even worse state than he had left. His voice, already soft whisper, was even quieter. Whitney seemed to jump and get startled at every movement. This of course made his mother wonder what went on at the hospital. When he was about thirteen, he developed another strange thing about himself, though it didn’t make it’s appearance right away. When he would walk passed some small plants they would seem to bloom brighter. Finally when he did notice this, Whitney tried to extend this power and make it grow. He concentrated on a sapling, trying to make it grow in to a large healthy tree, though all he managed to do was make its leaves seem a little bit greener. This was disappointing, but Whitney was used to disappointments in his life; it wasn’t any thing new. He decided not to tell anyone about this ability, seeing as the best he could do was make a flower bloom. His life in Logan continued as it had, getting beat up at school, people calling him queer, his conscience talking to him and taking over his body at times. It was all just part of life to him. When Whitney was fifteen he read an article in the news paper about a type of boarding school, called Darbyville Academy. As he read through it, he started to consider to attend that school. It seemed like, maybe he would fit in better there—with the voice in his head, and making flowers grow. Whitney brought it up with his parents; his father seemed to have no problem with it what so ever. His father had always been disappointed in him, but his mother was a different story. She objected. She had always been very protective and he knew that she wouldn’t like the idea. Finally after talking for half of the night with her, they agreed that he could go to the school, but only if his mother could come and visit him, and he had to write every day. So with his parent’s permission Whitney said goodbye to his family and left for the school. **Abilities: Whitney has the voice of a little girl in his head, and he has always had her in his head ever since he can remember. Some times she takes over his body, and some times she just speaks to him in his mind, she calls herself Whith, and Whitney calls her, his conscience. His other ability is very small. You could call him a “green thumb”, though that would be a bit of a big title to live up to. The best he can do is make the flowers bloom. Whitney can’t make trees grow or do anything useful with it. When he walks by plants, the just seem a little bit healthier. Talents: Whitney doesn't have many talents. He is a person who is not very skilled at much of anything. However, there is one thing that he is very skilled at thanks to his mother's insistence. Whitney has amazing handwriting. He writes in calligraphy, and if he concentrates, Whitney can write in just about any style of calligraphy. **Personality: He is very delicate, and very sensitive boy. He doesn’t talk too much, but when he does his voice is very quiet and hushed. Because of his behaviour, some people don't only think that he's delicate and with drawn but also think that he's gay. Although at times it may appear that way, Whitney is straight. He tends to be clumsy at times, and like always is made fun of for it. Some times he gets frustrated when he is picked on, but doesn’t do any thing about it. If it will make the bullies happy to pick on him, then he might as well let them be happy. They’ll get bored with it eventually any ways. Whitney enjoys reading, and drawing. He hates doing sports, and doesn’t like watching them much. Especially American Foot Ball. Whitney likes spending time with girls more than boys, mainly because boys tend to be more violent. Whitney hates fighting. ((This is probably the worst bio I have done so far.
