Darbyville Academy
is a school unlike any other. You won't only find lessons in Math or Chemistry here; you'll also find a small community of outcasts, people born or raised with special powers or abilities, that set them apart from the rest of society. People who might be persecuted or humiliated because of their powers.

But in Darbyville Academy they can find a place of solace and learning, where they are taught to control their abilities and intergrate into society.

Of course, the school can't remain a total secret and some 'normal' people don't like the fact that thes students could be part of a 'super army' that could easily knock out any military force currently in operation. There have been attacks on the school, both physically and socially.

However, by and by, the students live happy and normal lives - as normal as they can. At Darbyville Academy it's not unlikely to encounter werewolves, wizards, angels and demons; hence the students nickname: Demon High.

:Character Details

Name: Audrey Louise Beaumont
Age: 17
Date of Birth: October 31, 1992
Gender: Female
Hometown: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Student/Teacher: Student
Abilities: Although she’s been less than responsible with her abilities, Audrey was raised in a strong, understanding coven of witchy women. As hard as they tried to help Audrey understand the serenity and goodness behind the craft, Audrey couldn’t help but use it for all the wrong reasons.

Her strongest abilities are pyrokinesis and telepathy, both usually being triggered by anger. From a young age Audrey has been able to pitch things across the room without laying a hand on it and giggled in delight as she made her dolls fly into pieces just by looking at them. Her pyrokinesis is evoked only in a state of white hot rage, warming her palm until it’s searing and bursting through as a stream of fire towards whatever happens to be in their path. She has little to no control over this ability and can only be extinguished when her anger subsides.

.:Appearance

Face Claim: Amy Winehouse (to be used as twins, Audrey and Liv)
Height: 5”3
Weight: 115 pounds.
Build: Audrey’s build could best be described as emaciated, her ribs sticking through her skin like a pair of skeletal xylophones. Her biceps and her forearms are the same size, equally thin as the rest of her body, and attached to very narrow shoulders. Her chest is small and her stomache is lean and flat without much muscle definition. Her hips are just about the only part of her body that has any curve to it at all, giving way to lean, long legs. Unlike her sister Liv Audrey was graced with average size 7 feet, able to wear any cute shoes she wanted.

Hair Color: Audrey’s hair is a glossy ink black, matching her sister’s hair in every way except the bright blonde streak dyed at the front. She wears it in a 50’s half beehive, wild and teased with an unhealthy amount of hairspray. She spends at least 45 minutes a day fixing her hair into it’s signature up do, not letting anyone near the bathroom until it was absolutely perfect.

Eye Color: Her eyes, like Liv’s, are a lovely shade of emerald green with the exception of a dark brown overcast when she was irritated. When she’s happy, there are flecks of copper that shine through and make her eyes pop. When she’s mad the copper engulfs her irises, drowning the emerald green in a sea of liquid fire.

General Appearance: Unlike her dowdy sister, Audrey liked her outward appearance to look as she felt: dangerous, sexy and edgy.
Her usual uniform was either a white or black muscle shirt, a tight fitting pair of dark denim skinny jeans, her black leather ballet flats and her red Ray Ban sunglasses. When she’s dressing to impress she switches to more provocative outfits: corset tops, leather mini skirts, sky high heels, bomber jackets, whatever it takes to get heads turning her way.
Her makeup had a simple formula: lots of black eyeliner and mascara. She decorates each eyelid with a thick, elongated black line pointing towards her temples like Cleopatra, blinking mascara onto her lashes until they reach desired length. For her lips she switches between Burt’s Bee’s shimmering lip gloss and crimson red lipstick.
She carries herself with an air of both confidence and arrogance, giving others the impression that she is unapproachable. Most people do a double take when they see her rather enormous pile of hair, prompting her to stop and yell, “Take a picture jerk, it lasts longer!”
Those who are let into Audrey’s inner circle usually discover that there is more to her than she’s ever willing to admit; that behind her wild ways and often condescending attitude is a sad young woman longing to be accepted.
Overall, Audrey could be seen as many things; a delinquent, a independent thinker, a criminal, or just another sad, angry girl who tries too hard to be unique.
.:Family Details

Mother's Name:
Anne Marie Beaumont

Father's Name:
Audrey and her sister never knew their father and to this day have never met him once. Along with their mother Anne, they were raised by their grandmother Sophie Fiona Beaumont and their mother’s quirky younger sister Rhonda Louise Beaumont.

Brothers/Sisters: Olivia “Liv” Anne Beaumont (almost identical twin)
.:Background and Personality

Personality:
Between herself and her sister, Audrey’s always been “the troubled one”.
She defies rules, pushes boundaries, and has grown a negative reputation around town as being a “wild child”. Her reckless behaviour has not only endangered herself, but her whole family; and yet she still feels as if she is the victim. She speaks without thinking of how her words may affect other people, and is constantly absorbed in her own personal drama.

Even after years of her mother, aunt and grandmother pushing for her to feel some connection to the religious roots of their ability, Audrey has little to no regard for her Wiccan roots. She says to hell with the goddess and uses her abilities with thoughtless abandon, not understanding the full consequences of her actions

The only goal Audrey has in life is to have fun, live free of rules and be able to use her powers whenever and however she wants to. Unlike Liv, Audrey has next to no academic interests and usually hooks off from school to go play pool, party and get intoxicated. Her teacher constantly has to phone her mother to inform her that Audrey had once again not been in class. Her mother and grandmother were constantly trying to encourage her to be more like Olivia, which makes Audrey sick to her stomach. The last thing she would ever want to be is an obedient pencil pushing goody two shoes like Liv.
Audrey has always had a strong physical attraction to the opposite sex. She can be very flirtatious and usually doesn’t care if the guy she’s hitting on is standing with his girlfriend. The world is her hunting grounds and any man is fair game. Audrey’s had more boyfriends than she can keep track of, and lost her virginity at the age of 13 to an older boy named Von in the bathroom of an A&W. As many times as she’s tried to help her clueless sister Liv get some action, Liv’s personal morals have always got to her. This makes no sense at all to Audrey because she really has few morals about those things. If it feels good, she’ll do it.
It makes Audrey incredibly resentful and jealous that she’s constantly being compared to her brainy sister Liv. She hates that her mother and grandmother dote on Liv for her good grades and attitude about everything. The more she’s pushed to be like Liv, the more she wants to throw all caution to the wind and raise some serious hell.

Biggest Fear: That a powerful demon force or warlock will discover her family and destroy them all. It almost came to be when Audrey made their magickal powers known to the entire neighbourhood during one of her trademark temper tantrums.

History:
Anne told her daughters very little about their father or why he decided to abandon them before their birth. All she would share was that it had been a windy, rainy Halloween night when her two daughters entered the world and that they were born healthy. Every time Liv or Audrey had tried to enquire further Anne would clam up and refuse to answer their questions.
With the help of her mother Sophie and her sister Rhonda, Anne did everything she could to raise her twin babies and keep them safe. She had prayed to the goddess that neither of her daughters would exhibit the strange abilities that both she and Rhonda had when growing up. Much to Anne’s dismay both Olivia and Audrey began to show signs of the craft at an early age. 4 year old Liv would draw pentagrams all over the house and talk to thin air for hours a day, saying she'd made friends with the shadow people. Audrey, on the other hand, would throw violent fits. She was constantly flinging her toys all over the room with her mind and even beginning to ignite things by looking at them.
When the girls reached the age of 7 they were sat down by Anne, Rhonda and Sophie and explained why they were coming into certain "gifts" like these. While Liv took her studies of the craft dead serious, working harder and harder to gain balance and peace with her powers, Audrey merely focused on the negative, destructive side of her own abilities.
All throughout their childhood Audrey had felt like she'd been living in her sister's shadow. She was always being told by her mother and grandmother she should behave "more like Liv." The more often she was told this, the more she rebelled against it. She dressed and acted the exact opposite of her butt kissing sister, trying desperately to gain an identity for herself that would be acknowledged by her mother and grandmother. The only person in her family Audrey felt like she could relate to was her aunt Rhonda, who was also cut from a rebellious cloth like her. Rhonda acknowledged her need to be a free spirit when her grandmother and mother only tried to make her more like her sister.
In school Audrey tried to distance herself as much as she could from Liv. She started by making friends with the people who tormented and picked on her sister, joining their bouts of cruelty towards Liv and her weirdo friends. The thrill of being a bad ass gave her a rush she couldn't get enough of. She manifested her personality into that of an egotistical thrill seeker, doing the opposite of everything her mother, grandmother and sister stood for. She began drinking in the 9th grade and started smoking pot and experimenting with other drugs shortly after. All of her friends drank and did drugs, as well as committed other illegal offenses. She would leave school early (like before her first class even started early) and head off to one of her friends place to get drunk and high. When night fell they would go downtown to Sugar nightclub, using their fake ID's to gain entrance to the bar and dance the night away.

It was in late September that the incident occurred. It was a Saturday night and Audrey had just began heading out the door to a party when she was stopped by her mother. When asked where she was going, Audrey promptly told her mother it was none of her frigging business. Before she could take one step out of the door Anne had swept the door shut without touching it. The locked bolted itself into place and would not budge even with Audrey putting all her weight into it. Her mother told her that she had gotten off the phone with the principal of Audreys school. Apparently Audrey hadn't been to class in the last 3 weeks and her teachers had become concerned. Anne told Audrey that there was no way she was going anywhere until she was caught up on her school work. With an irritated howl, Audrey pushed her mother, breaking the magical hold on the dead bolt at the front door. Bolting outside, Audrey began running as Anne caught up to her, grabbing her daughter by the collar of her shirt. Audrey turned around, swinging her hand freely and smacking Anne across the face. She screamed at the top of her lungs that she could do whatever the f@$% she wanted to do whenever the f#$@ she wanted to do it. Throwing her hands in an exaggerated gesture of disgust, Audrey accidentally launched two enormous orbs of fire at the old chestnut tree in their front yard. Her mother gave a horrified moan as the tree went up in flames quickly. She grabbed Audrey by the shoulders, pushing her into the house while the neighbors stood gawking at what had just happened on the Beaumont's front lawn.
After the fire department had cleared

The scene had put their entire family into total jeopardy. Audrey's tantrum had exposed their secret abilities to anyone that could have been watching outside, including the darker forces of the world that wished to eradicate their existence. Frightened for the twins safety, Anne, Rhonda and Sophie had all sat down and made the difficult decision to send the girls off to a private school. While scanning through brochures and applications one crisp October day, a shimmering pamphlet had coasted in through their open kitchen window. It advertised for a school called "Darbyville Academy", describing how it specialized in students with unusual powers and abilities.
Neither of the girls took the news of their departure for a new school well. Audrey was livid about having to leave her swarms of friends behind, to be sent to a school where she'd have no weed or alcohol connection. Worst of all, she'd have to spend a 5 hour bus ride next to her annoying, know it all sister Liv. It was all because she made a mistake and barbequed some stupid tree. Audrey didn't really care about Liv's feelings towards the relocation, she'd become so sick of Liv's perfection she was frankly glad to watch her suffer. All she knew was that she was going to a school full of people that were as weird or weirder than them; what a trip.

Sample Post:
On the day they boarded the Greyhound to make their way to a new life at Darbyville Academy, Liv had watched her mother, aunt and grandmother fade into a pattern of smeared colourful dots as the bus drew further away from the only home she'd ever known.
The solemn totems in front of the museum, the calming waves of the Dallas road beach, the comfort of their charming heritage house in James Bay, everything she'd ever known was to be left behind for who knows what. While Liv grieved over the sudden changes to everything she'd been accustomed to, Audrey bobbed her head to whatever noise was booming from her ipod earphones; oblivious to everything but her own inner world and the contents of her celebrity trash magazine.
Giving her inconsiderate sister a slap on the arm, Liv quietly hissed at her,
"Audrey Louise, can you PLEASE turn that noise down a bit? Everyone on the bus can hear what you're listening to..."
With an irritated huff, Liv began to dig in her blue knitted tote bag for the scarf she'd begun working on in late August. As she'd begun knitting another row, she was disturbed by a swift smack to the side of her head with her sister’s now rolled up celebrity magazine. Jerking her head to the side, she stared face first into her sister’s indignant, stubborn, Cleopatra-eyed glare.
It was really hard to believe sometimes that Audrey was even really her biological sister. They were so different in every way. The only way most people could tell they were related was their eye color and their identical noses. Other than that, they were as different as strangers.
"You are such a BRAT Audrey! Can't you just act like a respectful person for once in your life?!"
Throwing her knitting back into her tote, Liv turned her head to the window and refused to look back at her belligerent sister as Audrey stuck her tongue out and gave an obnoxious raspberry in rebuttal. She further replied by saying,
"I don't know Liv, can you loosen that stick you've got jammed up your ass just a bit & lay off me? Speaking of asses, you've been riding mine about every little thing since we left the freakin' bus depot. What's YOUR problem sis? HUH?!"
An awkward silence fell between them, both girls reminiscing as to why they were on this bus today and why they were going to be spending the rest of their free lives in a school so far from home. Liv bit down hard on her lips, drawing them into a grimace full of anger and sadness. No longer able to contain her own grief, Liv turned to her sister and spitefully hissed,
"MY problem is that YOU are a complete moron. You can never keep your head clear about anything so now we get to leave everything behind and start over with a school full of strangers… all because of YOU."
Audrey turned away from her sister, the anger insider her rising. Her palms began to drip with sweat from the pyrokinetic energy screaming to be released. Not here on the bus. Not now. The last thing she wanted to do was prove her brainiac sister right, that she was hopeless and the cause for all the family's troubles.
Audrey placed her earbuds back in, cranking her ipod to max volume and turned away from her sister entirely. Liv just continued to stare out the window, thick tears rolling down her face as the colorful blurs faded to unfamiliar territory and their new temporary home beyond….
