It’s not about Hogwarts anymore. In the real world people have been dying left and right. Real people, good people, who we’ve known and trusted our whole lives. It’s not about Harry Potter; it’s about us as a community, as a society even. Dumbledore’s been dead three weeks and already we seem more lost than we were at the height of You-Know-Who’s terror. I’m scared, just like you are, like we all are. But there comes a point where we have to acknowledge the fear, and acknowledge what’s going on. Is our Ministry strong enough to save us? Who knows? We don’t know how many of them there are, what they really want from us, or who they’re going to kill next. All we know is that it’s not about some kids up in a school; it’s about us, the people. This is a war on us and our families, not someone who’s just a name in our past.

The Sweetest Nightmare takes place in the year 1997, picking up where the Half-Blood Prince left off. The trio are heading out into the world to search out the Horcruxes, leaving Hogwarts and the safety it provides behind. The Order of the Phoenix is rallying together, ready to combat the growing strength of the Death Eaters. Voldemort plots and plans, preparing to take on the world. The Ministry searches for a way to boost the morale of the people, but is slowly becoming a national laughing stock.
