CAIN McKENNA
A thirteenth century Sorcerer from Ireland, charged by the Goddess Morrigan to find those prophesied to complete the circle that will defeat the Vampire Queen Sabine.
Age - 27

LUCIAN McKENNA
The twin brother of Cain, he was turned into a vampire in the Thirteenth Century. Found by his brother Cain after he time traveled to the future at the behest of Morrigan. Lucian does not feed on humans and retains some of his human traits ie. caring, empathy. He is somewhat vain in the sense he likes posessions. He is also a great warrior, intelligent and cunning.

LAUREL THOMAS
The witch Cain seeks. Laurel is strong and independant. She also has feelings for Cain and he for her. She's a powerful witch from a long line of witches though at times she secretly doubts herself.

SANTIAGO KIMES
A shape shifter from another world, he was brought to this Apocolyptic New York through a spell cast by Cain. His world is the home of Jarka Rhys, the Vampire who sired Sabine in this world. He too seeks to find a way to rid his world of the blood demons and save his sister, Dacia, from the clutches on the Blood Lord. He is a bit self serviant in that his own motives govern his actions always.

ESSEX KING
The warrior Cain seeks to complete the circle, he is a monster of a man that commands a force of those determined to kill as many vampires as possible. Precisely what you might think of when you think warrior. Befriended by Lucian McKenna as a boy, he has not only strength, but knowledge of the Vampires, and he's not afraid to do battle. They call him 'King' because he rules on the battle field. *It should be noted that he is black*

TANIS SHELBY
A young and timid girl who doesn't realize her own worth. She was taught by a great seer, the same seer that now serves the king of the Patriarchal society in the fortress of Central Park. She was taught not only the history of the world before the blood drinkers came, but the history's of other worlds. Her knowledge might just be the key to everything, even if she doesn't know it yet.

MORRIGAN
The Goddess of Battle, Morrigan charged Cain with locating those of the circle that would help her do battle against the strongest vampire known, Sabine.

THE ARCAINS

Sol Canaris
25-35 years old
The son of Micheal Canaris, Sol left the safety of his fathers compound, disagreeing with the way his father sought to hide from the blood drinkers and pretend nothing was wrong within his protected circle. Sol is the leader of a savage gang of mortals that are really no better than the Vampires except they can be killed. They live on the edges of humainty, taking prisoners, sometimes turning to cannibalism, eating them for food. They are a cruel bunch who live in anarchy.

Patriarchial Society
MICHEAL CANARIS
The self declared King of the Patriarchs, Micheal likes to think his people are secure in their midieval fortress. He sees no reason to engage the demons in battle. He is content to seal himself and his people off from the rest of New York, and go back to a simpler way of living. One that Cain might well recognize from his own time.
AGE- late fifties, early sixties. Think Sean Connery.

BALLIAN McGREGGOR
The assasain of the King Canaris, or chief enforcer, Ballian's job is to keep order within the walls of the community and to take extreme action against those who would oppose their way of life. He is often sent beyond the walls to gather information due to his canny ability to move undetected through the cursed streets of New York. He is a modern day Knight.

LIAM BELLCROFT
Seer and advisor to the King, Liam is often called upon before any major decision so that he might look into the future, giving the King the upper hand. He is a dignified man, but he has his own agenda's as well.

SOPHIE CANARIS
The timid daughter of Micheal Canaris, Sophie often feels caught in that ever widening rift between her brother and her father. She knows the danger that lies beyond their safe haven, but she also knows that they can't last forever behind the walls.
