From 411mania:

UPDATED: According to Pwinsider.com, Hogan and Bischoff coming into TNA does not mean that they will take the reigns of the company. Also, even with Hogan and Russo's past, this does not mean that Russo will be pulled from power. There are SPIKE TV and TNA banners up at the press conference and Jimmy Hart is with Hogan. Until today, the signing was kept a secret to even the inner-most members of the TNA circle.

Original Story: According to Pwinsider.com, TNA President Dixie Carter and several top flight TNA officials are at Hulk Hogan's press conference in New York City at Madison Square Garden today. Hogan has signed a deal to join TNA, and Eric Bischoff joining him in the company as well. More on the story as it comes.

Didn't this happen about 4 or 5 years ago. Right before TNA got their deal on FSN, me thinks. Didn't Hogan come in for an appearance and Jarrett brained him with the gee-tar?

If he sticks around this time, look forward to the following:

November 10, 2009: TNA has agreed to terms with Brian Knobbs and Ed Leslie.

Hogan was going to wrestle Jarrett at the would-be first Bound for Glory. They flew Jarrett to Japan to attack Hogan and lay him out with the guitar. Then Hogan backed out because he had been mainly using the teased angle with TNA to entice WWE to take him back.

Still, TNA milked the "Jeff Jarrett took out Hogan and was so brutal that Hogan never dared get his revenge" card for all it was worth.

More from 411:

* The Hulk Hogan-TNA press conference today featured Eric Bischoff introducing Hulk Hogan. Hogan talked about TNA and stated he was becoming a "partner" in the company and that he was feeling great and looking forward to being a part of the company. The conference left the impression Hogan may be involved as a personality, but not wrestling for the group.

* TNA President Dixie Carter gave a short speech saying she was looking forward to working with Hogan and that while they have great ratings for a Thursday night, Hogan would be the "boost that TNA needed." SpikeTV's Kevin Kay was also in attendance and gave a brief statement about the network working with Hogan.

* The Q&A session was said to mostly be fluff fan type questions, although one fan did ask Hogan whether working with Vince Russo would be an issue. Hogan responded that as long as Russo stayed in his place and didn't cross him, there would be no issues. Hogan then said that if he did, Hogan would have to take care of it.

* When the topic of Eric Bischoff came up, Hogan did not say Bischoff was working with him in TNA but noted they have other side projects they are working on.

* Obviously, Hogan's book being plugged was a big part of the conference as well.

* CNN's Larry King Live had a camera crew there shooting footage for tonight's Hogan appearance.

You know, if Hogan would just be a personality and provide some business sense to TNA's office, I think this could actually work out well.

Of course, I half expect Hogan to be TNA champ by February

I have mixed feelings on this. It's a good idea to bring him in to get more viewers especially when you look at all the guys they seem to be pushing recently. MCMG, British Invasion, Daniels, Joe, AJ, BeerMoney, McGuinness. It's the best time to try and get some new viewers to see the future of wrestling.

But the minute Hogan wins the Heavyweight Title is the minute I lose all faith in the company. And I prefer TNA over WWE. And am even a fan of Vince Russo. But this year has been the drizzling shits with the exception of Genesis, LockDown, Slammiversary, No Surrender, and Bound For Glory. TNA really needs to step up their game and if last weeks impact was any indication of what TNA will be from now on then I am REALLY excited for them.

Ditto on that.

That angle with Jarrett/Hogan was really fun. It's better as a "what if" because we know things would have probably gone down hill after that.

It would be nice to see the strange combination of Angle, Foley, Hogan and all the young roster interacting.

That match will probably headline Bound for Glory next year.

Kidding... I think.

I don't think he's going to wrestle more than once or twice for the company. I bet they're going to do a Hogan/Flair match on PPV and that'll be about it for Hogan.
