Note: I think this might be pin-worthy... or I can be made Movies/TV mod and do it myself. :)
Topic says it all... update everyone with that you've watched recently, and a small opinion and/or some lines that are memorable or funny.
I didn't watch anything today (thanks to being in and out with another fucking cold and post whoring... I mean posting alot today), but here's yesterdays movie...
My Cousin Vinny (1992) Starring... Joe Pesci, Ralph Macchio, Marisa Tomei, Fred Gwynne
Probably one of my favorite Joe Pesci movies (alongside "The Super") as he plays a inexperienced lawyer that means life and death (literally) for Bill (Ralph Macchio) and Stan (Mitchell Withfield, who are charged with murder of some redneck who works at the Sack-o-Suds convenient store (a.k.a shitty 7-11).
Pesci has a lot of good lines (including the exchange in the bar with the guy who owes him money) here and there, although most of it is just shouting foul language. However, his side kick in crime, (Mona) Lisa (Marisa Tomei), his fiancee of... god knows how long, as a few good lines as well. Also, while she does a good job, I still don't see how she won the Oscar for Supporting-Actress. Oh well...
Anyway, the best part of the film is, of course, Joe Pesci (playing Vincent Gambini) being completely clueless in court, upsetting the judge (Fred Gwynne) to the point he was thrown in jail multiple times. From dressing problems to obscene language (his entire opening statement was "Everything he just said is bullshit... Thank You"), Vinny couldn't catch a break. On top of that, he lied to the Judge about his previous trials, which is a total of zero, and thus has to lie his way out of everything when cornered. Vinny eventually evolves into a decent lawyer, with the help of Lisa of course, and thus get the two "youts" off the hook.
Overall, a very funny movies that has its serious moments as well (which mainly consisted of Pesci and Tomei), and is all around enjoyable. The profanity level is a little high (the duo literally say fuck at least 6 times in a span of 5 seconds in 1 scene), which should be expected when a Pesci movie has an "R" rating.
Score: 10/10
DVD Bonus Features: Directors Commentary (Jonathon Lynn), Anamorphic Widescreen (Aspect Ratio: 1.85:1), Interactive Menus, Languages: English Dolby Sourround, French Dolby Surround. Subtitles: English, Spanish. Theatrical Trailers and TV Spots.
| QUOTE | Vinny: Lisa, I don't need this... I swear to God, I do not need this right now. I got a judge that's just aching to throw me in jail. An idiot who wants to fight me for two hundred dollars. Slaughtered pigs, giant, loud whistles... I ain't slept in five days. I've got no money, a dress code problem, and a little murder case which in the balance holds the lives of two innocent kids. Not to mention your (stomps 3 times) Biological clock. My career, your life, our marriage! And let me see! What else can we pile on? Is there any more shit we can pile on to the top of the outcome of this case?! Is it possible?!"
Lisa: Maybe it was a bad time to bring it up. |

Major League II: (1994) Starring... Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Corbin Bernson
Comparing this to the first movie is like trying to compare horse manure to chocolate Ice Cream. While the first ML was funny for almost every scene, this one just seems to drag along aimlessly with paperthin plot points that make no sense like Rick Vaughns (Sheen) relationship with some bitch, Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert) and his magical turn to... whatever, and Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernson) was suddenly rich enough to own a baseball club. I also must point out that Wesley Snipes didn't return for the role of Willie Mays Hays, so instead of getting rid of the character, they simply replace him with Omar Epps, who looks nothing like Snipes.
While all that doesn't make sense or is just completely stupid, the bright spot (of course), is the return of Bob Uecker, playing the role of baseball broadcaster Harry Doyle, adding in some funny lines now and then.
Overall though, a mediocre movie at best that you should only bother watching if you really are interested in it after seeing the first. I recommend Major League 3: Back To The Minors over this because it's a lot more fun despite having a lot of name actors thanks to a really short budget, and having no link whatsoever to the first two.
Total Score: 5/10

Dog Day Afternoon (1975) Starring... Al Pacino, John Cazale, James Broderick, Charles Durning
I'll wait until I watch for a second time (or maybe third) to get some real rambling, but just gotta say a fucking awesome movie. Too bad (eh, I like the bad guys) Sal gets shot in the head and Sonny is arrested at the end. Roller coaster ride all the way. I did NOT expect that finish.

Finished watching ...And Justice For All (1979) (Starring Al Pacino, John Forsythe, Lee Strasberg, Jack Warden). Yes, I'm kinda in a Al Pacino mood this week. I just hate myself though for losing my tapes of the Godfather I and II. AJFA is pretty good, although it's not quite as enjoyable as Pacino's other movies during the 70's/Early 80's, but still good enough to warrant an Oscar Nomination for his performance. Pacino plays a defense lawyer who is surrounded by corruption of his fellow attorneys, and finds himself in the unusual position of having to defend a Judge (John Forsythe) that is arrested for rape and assault. The kicker is, Pacinos character Arthur Kirkland hates Judge Fleming's guts. By defending Fleming, Arthur has to decide to keep his integrity, or becoming another corrupt monster in the legal system. The ending in the Court Room is especially brilliant, but I won't spoil it for those haven't seen this yet. I would probably rate it around an 8.5/10. Edit: http://www.ejumpcut.org/archive/onlinessay...RealDogDay.htmlInteresting article written by the man the movie DDA is based around.

Hmmm... ESotSM has always been on the "maybe" file, mainly because I really haven't seen anything of Carrey outside of his goofy comedies, and Kate Winslet has never been my favorite actress. I could give this a shot for a rental I guess.

Finally saw Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Much better than the live action version starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Gomez Addams. Some of the fight scenes were pointless to get some characters in, like Zangief and Blanka, and Honda/Dhalsim. But overall, a fun Anime movie with some great animation.
