there's a kind of cheap way to do them yourself. I'll check out the prices. buttons are a good idea. I know it involves getting a button maker and some pieces. then having a color printer to print from. So I will check out the price for that. I have a button maker nearby that i can use but i dont have the color printer... could always do BW or line art. I would need to pay for the button materials though. not an issue, then mail them to who all needs buttons for cons. i do know that the button maker available to me does small buttons about an inch or so in diameter. is that okay or should we go bigger?

since this topic is where is everyone... i'm in denver attempting once again to go to school. yay i feel a bit pathetic

I think the 1 inch diameter should be ok but we wont know for sure untill we try to put the web address on. what other sizes are there? I'm going to make some button templates in illustraitor so what ever work we want done can be placed w/in the circle.

But yay for attempting school again! ^^

well for ones with a web address, we should use a bigger size. like the 2 inch ones that you typically see. but we could probably do both. some with web address and some with just designs. but i'll get details on acquiring a bigger one. no worries.

I'm glad to be back. If everything goes right with school and the scholarships i'm applying for, then i'll be back for the duration of my time at school, except if i go on a trip somewhere (i guess that's obivous). school should be about 4 or 5 years.

struggling students, I know that in colorado, the governor has a special scholarship that is so awesome (school and books paid up to 5 years, living expenses, and work study money). I'm not sure if that is available in other states, but it should be worth checking out.

So button makers can be expensive. but i'm bidding for a kind of cheap one on ebay, but trying not to go out of a price range of 80. most of them run for 100 or 300 with stuff included. it's a one inch so if our spare time we could consider designs that might look okay on an 1 inch size. for my personal use, i want the one inch one. so we'll need to outsource for bigger sizes. I feel like being a responsible person, does anyone know of any places online that'll let us put in an order... probably on the smaller scale. i would think 100 or less of each size .

Don't get the cheap one. Trust me, its worth it to invest in the more expensive one. My friends and I got the cheap one for Otakon this past summer and we really messed up a third of our button supply because of it (Everyone in the artist alley says the same thing, too).

The website where I had mentioned we could get them printed was called http://www.shuushuubuttons.com/

However, I can't seem to get the site to open, I'm wondering if they've shut down?

okay, the company that i work for has a 1-1/4" button maker. so i'm going to buy supplies for it. there seems to be a somewhat cheap place online called zazzle that does buttons, we give them designs and they make them then send them to us. that could be something also to look into further. it's at zazzle.com. it also has a price finder when you are designing your button on their site. they have a 2" square one and a 1-1/4", 2-1/4", 3", 4",& 6". for their designing options, they dont have a circular option for their text. so if we want to get bigger sizes lets try them. but if we could, we should give the 1-1/4" ones a try since that will be the cheapest way.

so i'm going to order 1000 pieces. I want to keep plenty for myself for future projects and crap. so i will dedicate 800 pieces to DBS.

we dont have to use them all this summer. i suggest we start off with individual character designs. Marron, Tapion, lelu, tru, exodus, nail, emi, fah, and cejay; should all probably get their own design since they are all either in the comic currently or are current members. lets do 50 buttons per character. up to 5 different designs for each, but we should probably keep it down to one or two. since we want to promote dbs, we wanna put the logo in there somewhere if possible. or i can figure a way to get the logo with '.com' on the back via stickers. we are using 1-1/4" so i should go ahead and put the web url on the backs. with the other 200 we could do logos, line art, comic excerpts... whatever really.

this is a pretty cheap project. i'll be buying the button pieces for about $.08 each, not including shipping. i'm excited.

i'm also excited b/c my 21st bday is on monday. whoot!

Hi guys.... i feel kinda weird giving my "i'm alive!" speech since now you're talking about buttons... haha, behind as ever, i guess.

but, um, i'm alive! i've had a lot going on lately. i'm not in school, but my life's still pretty crazy. i'm moving next month, and after that, you'll probably see more of me.... if anyone's still here... *looks around*
