Rummaging around some old sprues, I found the sprues for 4 Imperial Cruisers for Battlefleet Gothic.
I'd looked into the rules-set before and thought it was quite a good game, but then the Specialist Games website/forum got shut down by GW before I'd actually started the game.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else on here played Battlefleet Gothic, and if they had advice for an aspiring Admiral?
I like the concepts of the destroyers and frigates, backed up with a cruiser line and "wolf-packs" of hunting Light Cruisers and the odd Carrier. Thinking some good, old-fashioned English/British Naval tactics could work very well.

You can down load the rules from the GW website. To be honest I would really like to give this game system a go myself. More for the campaign opportunities than anything else.

me and a few mates used to play quite abit, havnt had a game for about 6 months but its good fun. my only advice is be space marines battle barges just kill everything.
if your using an imperial fleet the best thing to do is take as many nova cannons as you can and get good at guessing range.

I'm going to be playing an Imperial Fleet - just because I've already got those 4 cruisers, so it seems like a good place to start.
Some of my favourite models are the destroyers and frigates. Can a force that is fairly escort-heavy work, as long as it has adequate support (naturally)?
Not sure what my Battleship would be, but 2 sections of 2 (Lunar Class?) Cruisers led by a Grand Cruiser or similar and a flotilla of different escorts and a couple of carriers/light cruisers should make a pretty impressive-looking fleet.
From my old (old - the launch of BFG) White Dwarfs, I gather the average game tends to be around 2000 points - is this still the same, or do people tend to prefer smaller engagements (as there are less players or whatever)?
