I got bored, did a search for 1:48 scale models and found this:

Tamiya America

and if that wasn't cool enough:

This relatively new series specializes in World War Two military soft-skinned and armored vehicles...

...Large scale war gamers will also find that 1/48th scale works well with 25mm to 27mm figures...

Sounds like their having shot at GW laugh.gif

Well I know most hobby stores supply their paint range but I didn't know they made models as well. I'm definitely going to get some I think; My Imperial gaurd could use some artillery support.

Unfortunately GW is 28-32mm...actually, I don't think they know what they are laugh.gif.

One thing to watch out for, that I have learned from trying to use historical kits (trying to find suspension for Guard tanks), is that even within the 1:42 scale some stuff matches up to 40K perfectly, other stuff is tiny in comparison, and other stuff is massive. Weapons are the most notorious for this - I've a box of machine guns that I thought would be useful as Stubbers, and the barrels are thinner than a Guardsman's eyeball.

Yeah, when I made the Corsair 'Thunderbolt' I had to replace the weapons as well but the body was a pretty good match up.

Funnily enough my brother's gotten into slot cars, their 1:32 scale bodies look like they can easily fit a imperial guardsmen inside them.
