Leman Russ Sponsons, Question

I've got 3 standard Russ kits to build, I'm going to do 1 of each of the variants - Eradicator (large blast, no cover save, non ordinance), Exterminator (twin linked auto cannons), and a standard/ Vanquisher (will use magnets to this can be swapped around).

I'm thinking that he Exterminator will have sponsons and the Russ/ Vanquisher wont. But I'm undecided about the Eradicator? One one hand it can still fire all weapons if stationary, on the other hand its safer to keep your tanks on the move.

Any thoughts would be greatly received.

You could always magnetize sponsons too; have a magnetized armor plate to go on if not using the sponsons.

For my own Eradicator, I decided not to go with sponsons. I figured if I threw in some heavy bolter wounds on top of the nova cannon, the victims could do some WA and wind up getting more cover saves (assign HB wounds to important models, stack no cover wounds on mooks).

Thanks sons, never thought of magnetizing the sponsons. That's a good point about the wound allocation though.
