Do you know if we will get to see the whole season, or just the first 8 eps cos of the writers strike thing?

Certainly this is just going to be the first 8 episodes - the other 8 haven't even been written!

From what I gather the strike isn't likely to be resolved before the end of January, so I think this will be it for the moment.

I think I read somewhere that assuming everything is sorted out they'll show the other 8 episodes of Season 4 in Autumn 2008 (meaning we can have a Season 4 DVD release the same time as this year), and then show all 16 episodes of Season 5 in February 2009 smile.gif

Thanks for that, i thought we were gonna have to wait until Feb 09 to see the other 8. Autumn would be better - a bit less of a wait i guess.

Ironically though, they're being forced down the same route that they were trying to avoid just a few months ago, in that there will be a huge mid-season gap again.

Thanks for the info, Phil. That's something to look forward to in the New Year.
I hope that there'll be a few answers coming too; from the recent interviews, it looks like the writers are hinting that the island is purgatory (which wouldn't seem to make sense, as people can't die if they're already dead, can they? ...unless it's the first of Dante's seven hells?). ponder.gif

Must admit, I thought the 'purgatory' thing was amongst the list of explanations ruled out by Lindelof. Having said that, I'm not entirely convinced that they knew themselves at that time. laugh.gif

You may well be right. I get the feeling that the writers may be making it up as they go along (Hope I'm wrong). None of the theories seem to fit entirely. Is it purgatory, Prospero's Isle, some other dimension or Laputa? Certainly, it's a place where the normal laws of physics don't apply (and the black smoke thingies suggest the sprites from The Tempest).

Thanks for the welcome.

Seen those trailers, season 4 looks good, can't wait. As for the purgatory theory, that was ruled out by the writers a long time ago.

Welcome to the board axonite. I agree with you that no one theory seems to fit entirely, and i hope they do have an explanation, rather than just making it up as they go along.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I'm glad to be here (in a manner of speaking).

Yes, I'd also heard that the Purgatory idea was ruled out ages ago, but was going by a recent interview in which the writers admitted that everyone has to face redemption in some way. Remembering how Mr Echo died, there does appear to be such an element. Again though, no one theory really seems to fit entirely.

I thought it was Sun Feb 3rd at 9pm on Sky One - that's what the ad said this morning.

Just checked Radio Times and SkyOne site, it's on both Sun 3rd and Tues 5th at 9pm, same episode - Sunday obviously sooner.
