well, the moment I've been waiting the past few episodes for finally arrived.
Adama shaved that Gods forsaken tache off Oh yeah, and there's the little thing about a massive battle to save (almost) everyone on new Caprica. One of the best space borne battles I've seen in such a long time, simply stunning throughout. From Galactica jumping into the planet's atmosphere to launch the Vipers to the timely (and slightly predictable) arrival of the Pegasus just in time. Again though, the characters took most of my attention, and credit for the brilliance of this ep. Kara was, as ever, brilliant, from the moment she killed her Cylon tormentor (again) to the moment she almost broke down after giving her "daughter" back to her real mother The sad saga of Saul Tigh was also brilliantly played out. During the first two seasons, I didn't really like the character, but now he's showing in a far more sympathetic light, an angle that I'm sure, very few people saw coming. Now if we can only get Lee some diet pills we'll be back on an even keel |

Don't panic! Adama's shaved his 'tache off, everything's back to normal
Stunning, from start to finish. The whole battle sequence was better than most things I've seen, even in movies. The final moments of the Pegasus were brilliantly done. It was on a par with Severed Dreams, it was that good. I loved the contrast in the reactions of the characters at the end. The big celebration whilst Tigh and Kara were standing there realising what they'd lost and how they'd been played. There were several things in the episode that I didn't see coming. Tigh killing Ellen was one, Casey's true identity was the other. Very well done. Of course I'm expecting Casey to come back in few years as a mentally unstable boyfriend-murdering she-devil after what she witnessed Top stuff |

Pretty much what Jamie said. Especially around the characters. Michael Hogan once again this season just absolutely nailing down his performance as Tigh.
The FX have to be praised here as well. The original series was lambasted from all quarters for the re-use of stock footage when it came to the FX. No one could level such criticism at the new series. Some of the visuals in this episode were beautifully rendered. The entire scene featuring Galactica jumping into New Caprica's atmosphere and conducting a free-fall as her Vipers were launched was just fantastic! The orbital battle sequences were equally impressive also, and once again I'm amazed at how they keep pulling these shots off. As far as the story goes, predictable to a certain degree. Pegasus' arrival was easy to foresee, and the ship's ultimate fate has been coming for a while I feel. It's called Galactica, why would they have the second ship hanging around permanently? A nice way of writing it out though, and at least it's demise held meaning. I can't wait to see where the show goes from here. It's been a rip-roaring start to the season, let's just hope they can maintain the pace and keep the momentum going. This could be a really fantastic year for the show |

Hmm, 'usually' indicates that sometimes other people might be right. Dave's never given any indication that that's a belief system he holds dear...... |

The "usually" implies that other people are only right when they agree with me. I'm sure Dave would agree... |

Again, that works on the assumption that anyone ever completely agrees with one of Dave's outlandish opinions. They may agree in part, or on certain levels, but never completely surely. That would mean that there are more of them out there..... |

Let's just all agree that Steve is ordianrily wrong, unless (as exemplified today) his one brain cell happens to fire off enough of an electochemical charge, that he accidentally strays into the field of correctness.
Why do I type such long words when I'm on hte way to being drunk? |

I absolutely loved it but the thing that bugged me is that surely any great military commander would sacrifice the old clapped out Battlestar and save the mercury class super duper Battlestar so he could fight another day even more effectively. I realise this might cause a teeny tiny change to the name of the show but it still bugged me a bit.
The other thing that bugged me a bit was that the Pegasus sacrifice was in a sense futile. Ok so they took out a Basestar but so what. The problem is the whole Cylon military industrial complex is still intact so it must be happily churning out Basestars a dime a dozen. 1-0 to the Cylons. sk |
