Garden of Bones

Season 2 Episode 4

Robb Stark's chain of victories against the Lannisters enrages Joffrey, who punishes Sansa for her brother's successes. Tyrion struggles to find a way to curb his nephew's cruel excesses and enlists one of Cersei's men as an informant. Catelyn urges the Baratheon brothers to forgo their ambitions and unite against a common enemy, while across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys and her exhausted host arrive at the walled city of Qarth

Enjoyed this ep for the most part.

Best bit - the scene with Tyrion and his cousin, the cousin's face when he realised he was up s**t creek was priceless.

Looking forward to seeing more of Qarth. Like that Arya is gonna be Lannister's cupbearer.

The only thing I didn't like was Catelyn chiding the brothers and, though it was a good scene, I could have done without the 'birthing' at the end.

Out of interest, why's that? I'd been curious about how they'd handle the Shadow Baby, and I thought it was fantastic, straight out of the book. I will be annoyed, though, if they don't follow it up properly.

I thought it was the best episode of the season so far. Could have done without the scene with Joffrey and the prostitutes, tbh, but the rest was excellent.

Quite happy at some of the stuff they omitted. I agree about the Catelyn/Stannis/Renly scene, although it did cut out a lot of pointless messing around from the book, so that was good. The way the first three episodes had been so exposition heavy I thought they were getting bogged down, but some good choices about what not to include meant they finally got all the main storylines moving.

As always, Bronn got the best line: "There's no cure for being a ****" laugh.gif

No reason to do with the book, just that I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to childbirth, even to shadow babies. smile.gif

I agree, I know it was true to the book, but it was disgusting! (in the book as well) sick.gif

Agree it's the best episode so far. Aside from the Joffrey scene, which I felt was unnecessary (we know he's a sadistic psycho) and it just made me feel really uncomfortable because of the actors age and stuff.

Otherwise all good. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

(Catelyn is annoying)

Well yeah, it wasn't meant to be all sweetness and light, was it? Although it would've been amusing if Davos had stood there and said "Aw look, he's soooo cute. And he's got Stannis's eyes" laugh.gif

I get that it was meant to be gross, still doesn't mean I want to see it laugh.gif
