A better ep this week, though I was convinced that they were >> introducing Wotsit from Lost this week ? unsure.gif

I much prefer the scenes where they focus on the mystery and the FBI stuff - the soapy elements just don`t work for me. snooty.gif

Oh dear, those CGI crows were appalling. laugh.gif Almost as bad as those Lost submarine shots. wink.gif

I thought there`d been a big improvement. smile.gif Joseph Fiennes had some snappy lines. cool.gif

There`s a repeat tonight, methinks. wink.gif

It`s been picked up for a full season already. ohmy.gif

I think in the past I didn`t bother to give some shows a decent go ( Buffy, The X-Files, SG-1, The West Wing ) and didn`t watch them till they`d ended or till the first season repeated, so now I give all the shows a proper go, just in case I miss out on something. smile.gif

LOL, but the four shows you mention there all started out really well. laugh.gif

Probably calling this the "new Lost" hasn't helped its case for me - I wasted 24 hours of my life watching the first season of that show and it's put me off ever watching an "event" series again rolleyes.gif

I didn`t watch Buffy from the start `cos C`mon, vampires ??? rolleyes.gif, I thought The X-Files was a documentary ( I blame those SKY adverts, they made it look dreadful laugh.gif ), The West Wing - I saw the pilot, and it then clashed with stuff. Oh, and I liked the SG-1 film, so I wasn`t going to cheat on the film by watching a TV show with different characters in the same roles. laugh.gif

Well, I know that now. laugh.gif

Still, I`m sure I missed lots of dreadful shows as well. Unless those were the ones I was watching instead. blink.gif

I just don't get why the people are so accepting that what they saw will happen (good or bad) and even trying to make it happen.

If you saw yourself in a car crash, say, driving the car you own wouldn't you have it crushed thereby negating the future? And shouldn't the fbi being doing just that, convince the Germans to kill the nazi for the sake of the world instead of letting him go.

And as the idiot with the bong said he won't get the job if he gets reported. Perfect opportunity to see what would happen.

Yeah, that's really bugging me too. Way too much of the investigation is hanging on what the lead character saw himself investigating, but that doesn't mean any of it is at all relevant, they could all be dead ends. By following the same leads he's making the future happen, when they could try to change things. Though I guess he did burn the bracelet at the end, so maybe he's realised that now..

I'm trying to enjoy this, I do like the overall premise, but some of the acting's quite dodgy. Most of the scenes with the guy and his wife make me cringe. Also, what happened to his daughter's D. Gibbons bit from the cliff hanger of the last episode? Some follow up questions at least would've been nice...

I like Demitri the best, I hope he doesn't die. Though I'm not convinced his fiancee actually saw him in her flashforward, the groom was quite far away.

Am enjoying this show, not sure it's in the same league as Lost, but think its good.

The thing with Demitri and his fiance seeing him alive was bugging me, as was the guy and his daughter alive in Afghanistan. This morning the thought of them having seen alternate realities of themselves in the future came to mind, but that may be making things more complicated than they actually are.

Looking forward to next week, and agree with my sis that the little girl Charley is creepy.

If it`s `the new Lost`, then nothing can be overly complicated. wink.gif

One theory going round is that Demetri's fiancee and the guy with the dead daughter (must learn character's names..!) were asleep in their flashforwards and that they were dreaming.

Who knows shrug.gif

Hmm. ponder.gif

I think they`ve promised us that the S1 finale will be set on the big date in question, which is better than the `early seasons of Lost situation`. smile.gif
